Chapter 588: Chapter 593: The Deputy Mayor’s Son_1
"Little Li, get me a tequila, and make a Tequila Sunrise for the lady!" said the young man in a white suit. Without waiting for Young Master Qin to respond, he immediately rushed forward, sat on a high chair next to Cao Ying, and confidently ordered from the bartender.
"Yes, Young Master Yang!" The bartender, Little Li, nodded. Without daring to ask Cao Ying’s opinion, he instantly agreed to Young Master Yang’s demand. Everyone in the Longyue Building knew that Young Master Yang Ling was the son of Jiangzhou City’s deputy mayor, Yang Tian. The owner of Longyue Building, who was adept at business, had reserved a permanent suite for Deputy Mayor Yang Tian, just as he had reserved the Spring Dawn suite for Mayor Cao. Deputy Mayor Yang Tian, conscious of his status, rarely appeared at Longyue Building, but his son was a regular patron!
Everyone knew that Young Master Yang Ling had a fondness for beautiful women, and Longyue Building was never short of them!
Although Little Li knew this beautiful woman was not a courtesan, Young Master Ling wasn’t the type to resort to force. Offering a lady a drink wasn’t a big deal. Little Li, a mere bartender, didn’t dare ask Cao Ying’s opinion and simply began to mix the drinks.
Little Li first placed a glass of straight tequila and a small dish with lemon slices and fine white salt in front of Yang Ling. Then, with swift and nimble hands, he began to mix a Tequila Sunrise for Cao Ying.
"I’m sorry, I don’t know you, and I don’t need you to buy me a drink..." Cao Ying finally turned her head, glanced with distaste at Yang Ling beside her, and said coldly.
Hearing Cao Ying’s gentle voice, Yang Ling’s heart skipped a beat. Then, seeing her flawless face, her ample bosom that seemed almost substantial enough to rest upon the tabletop, her slender waist twisting slightly as she sat partially turned, and those long, rounded legs beneath her miniskirt, clad in flesh-colored silk stockings... Yang Ling felt his heart instantly captivated by Cao Ying.
No matter where this girl came from, I, Yang Ling, must have her!
Having made his decision, Yang Ling’s eyes instantly lit up. Only after seeing Cao Ying did he realize that the so-called beauties he had merely dallied with before were nothing but pink-powdered skeletons in comparison!
"Seeing how engrossed you are listening to ’Losing Warmth,’ let me guess, you must be having some relationship troubles..." Despite Cao Ying’s sharp refusal, Yang Ling showed no sign of discouragement. Instead, he continued to chat her up with a smile, as if he hadn’t understood the dismissive tone in her words meant to keep him at a distance.
So that’s what this song is called, ’Losing Warmth.’ It truly fits my current situation...
After hearing Yang Ling’s explanation, Cao Ying seemed a little lost in thought.
Given how Lin Feng was pressured and interrogated by his mother today, he probably won’t seek me out anymore. Not only have I lost Lin Feng as a friend, but I’ve also completely fallen out with my mother. What warmth is there left to speak of...
Seeing Cao Ying’s distracted look, Yang Ling mistakenly thought he had piqued her curiosity. He continued with a smile, "The weather is so cool; even if you’re in a bad mood, beer isn’t the best choice! You should try the cocktail I just ordered for you. The Tequila Sunrise, just as its name suggests, boasts a stunning color, like the morning sun reflected in the glass. One drink can bring warmth back to your heart..."
Seeing Yang Ling still rambling on enthusiastically about the taste and ingredients of the cocktail being mixed, Cao Ying frowned in disgust. She found this self-important man quite repulsive. However, seeing that he seemed rather assertive and showed no intention of leaving, she decided to leave first. And leaving, naturally, meant settling the bill. Cao Ying decided to pay for her beer and go.
"Ah..." Cao Ying lightly touched her side, a look of panic on her face as she let out a soft exclamation. Only then did she realize she hadn’t brought her bag—the one containing her cash, mobile phone, and various cards.
"Miss, is there anything I can help you with..." Seeing Cao Ying’s troubled expression, the bartender, Little Li, instinctively walked over and asked softly. But before he could finish, he felt Yang Ling’s murderous gaze on him and was instantly terrified. Little Li’s mouth twitched a couple of times, but ultimately, he remained silent.
"Miss, did you forget to bring money?" Yang Ling glared at Little Li, then quickly turned to Cao Ying with a perfectly warm smile and asked lightly.
With a stubborn expression, Cao Ying ignored Yang Ling’s question. Instead, she looked up at Little Li and said, "Bartender, could I borrow your phone, please? I need to make a call."
Little Li looked up, an awkward expression on his face. He gave Cao Ying a wry smile but made no move. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust her; there was a phone at the bar that customers could use. However, after seeing Yang Ling’s murderous glare, he certainly didn’t dare interfere with Young Master Yang’s attempt to pick up a girl.
"Miss, if you need a phone, you can just ask me. I have plenty," Yang Ling said with a smug smile, clearly relishing Little Li’s inaction. He took out two iPhones from his pocket, placed them lightly in front of Cao Ying, and added generously, "Don’t be polite, feel free to use either!"
Cao Ying glanced at the phones Yang Ling had placed on the table, then shook her head. She turned to Little Li behind the bar and instructed, "Bring me the bill for the beer. I’ll sign for it."
Cao Ying decided to use her father’s name to settle the bill. She wouldn’t need to write much, just "Guest of the Spring Dawn suite," and the owner of Longyue Building would most likely waive the charge. This was a special privilege the owner of Longyue Building extended to Cao Tiannan and his family. Under normal circumstances, Cao Ying wouldn’t want to pay this way, but the current situation was clearly one of necessity.
At Longyue Building, incidents of dining and dashing were practically unheard of. Customers had a high degree of creditworthiness, and it was quite common for those not in the habit of carrying cash to simply sign for their expenses.
Processing signed bills was part of the bar staff’s duties. Although Little Li was wary of Yang Ling’s potential hostility, he had no choice but to brace himself and bring the bill and a pen to Cao Ying.
After quickly signing her name on the bill without a word, Cao Ying stood up from her seat, turned, and started to walk out.
"Wait! Just who do you think you are, daring to snub me, Yang Ling!" Seeing Cao Ying so decisively preparing to leave, Yang Ling’s limited patience finally snapped. He looked up, his gaze lingering covetously on Cao Ying’s exquisitely curved figure, and demanded in a cold voice.
Until this moment, Yang Ling had maintained a final shred of composure. He knew that women who frequented Longyue Building, unless they were courtesans, were usually not simple characters. Cao Ying clearly wasn’t a courtesan, so Yang Ling still felt a slight apprehension towards her.
"Hmph..." Cao Ying couldn’t be bothered to explain anything to Yang Ling. She let out a cold, disdainful snort and turned to leave.
"You bitch!" Yang Ling was finally, thoroughly enraged. As the esteemed son of the deputy mayor, in all of Jiangzhou, how many women would dare to treat him with such contemptuous disdain!
Yang Ling shot out his hand, grabbing for Cao Ying’s wrist, intending to pull her into his embrace. He wanted to see just what gave this woman the audacity to be so arrogant!
SLAP! A hand seemed to materialize out of thin air, firmly gripping Yang Ling’s outstretched wrist.
