Jiang Ye thought for a moment—should he build a new Grave Mound and bury a Replica in it just for fun?
But then he realized—this whole Apartment 4444 was about to be destroyed, and the Graveyard would probably vanish with it.
So he gave up on the idea.
Besides, his main goal now was to hunt down the Apartment Administrator.
So his gaze quickly shifted from the Blackened Zone filled with black plants to the Tombstone Zone and Grave Mound Zone.
There were actually very few tombstones.
Looking from a distance, there were only four.
Each one had strange glyphs engraved on it, as if telling a story.
According to Wan Xin’s guide—
analyzing those glyphs could reveal information useful for figuring out what was buried beneath the tombstones.
If a Tombstone held an item, it was usually something rare;
if it contained an Eerie Being, it was usually powerful.
Because creating a Tombstone was far more complex than creating a Grave Mound.
And destroying a Tombstone was also much harder than destroying a Grave Mound.
Wan Xin had said that during the Beginner Phase, almost no players could destroy a Tombstone.
So most players lucky enough to enter the Graveyard just played the “Open Grave Mound” game.
As for the Grave Mounds, there were way more of them.
At a glance, there were easily over ten thousand.
In his Light and Shadow Escape state, Jiang Ye toured the entire Graveyard—
but found neither the Administrator nor the Raven Egg.
So he swung the Entropy Scythe and casually smashed open two Grave Mounds.
After smashing them, he quickly put the scythe away.
The reason being—Entropy Scythe was just too powerful.
If a Grave Mound contained an Eerie Being, that was fine—they’d be one-shotted anyway.
But if it contained items, one hit from the Entropy Scythe would completely destroy them too.
To avoid wasting any valuable items, Jiang Ye switched to another weapon.
Meanwhile, while the Light-type Replica Huang Bo was opening Grave Mounds looking for the Administrator—
on the first floor of Apartment 4444, Replica No. 1 Jiang Ye held up the Glass Orb again and asked the White-Clad Woman:
“Big Boss, are you still in 4444?”
The White-Clad Woman didn’t answer directly, but asked in return:
“What do you want this time?”
“Oh, nothing much. Just wondering—if an apartment is destroyed ahead of schedule, what happens?”
“Destroyed ahead of schedule? That’s impossible.”
Jiang Ye instantly realized from that line—the White-Clad Woman wasn’t in 4444,
so she hadn’t heard the destruction warnings at all.
He quickly summarized the Light-type’s glorious achievements for her.
During the whole explanation, the Glass Orb remained silent.
Jiang Ye wrapped it up with:
“So basically, that guy already broke through the Graveyard Barrier, and he’s inside chasing the Administrator now.”
“And the price was that the apartment’s alarms kept saying the destruction time has been moved to the next 0:00.”
Still, no reaction.
He tapped the orb:
“Big Boss, did you hear me?”
A moment later, the White-Clad Woman’s slightly stiff voice came through:
“Give me a moment to process this…”
“Fine… but hey, you wanna come back to 4444 and help us hunt the Administrator? The Graveyard Barrier’s broken—you can go in now.”
White-Clad Woman: “I said give me a moment!”
“……”
Alright then.
Jiang Ye put away the orb and directly used Replica Swap to enter the Graveyard himself.
Still a pity that the Eye of True Sight Replica was stuck in a Personal Instance,
otherwise he really would’ve liked to use it to inspect the Grave Mounds.
If he’d known earlier, he would’ve used the Replica Reflection Mirror to leave a Mirror Replica of the Eye of True Sight outside.
Well, whatever. He had plenty of Replicas now, and the cooldown on Replica Fusion could be eased using different Replicas with the Replica Fusion skill.
Still, sigh.
While the Light-type Replica and Replica No. 1 wandered around the Graveyard—
Replica No. 2, located in Apartment 9999, came back out of the Duel Machine.
He’d hit a 39-win streak.
Now there was a problem.
If he got matched with Wu Ying again for his 40th win, and Wu Ying surrendered again—
then the reward he could claim for 40 wins would be drastically downgraded.
At 30 wins, his reward of the Void Mirror was downgraded to the Blood-Spirit Comb,
and Wan Xin got screwed.
Now at 40 wins, he didn’t want to screw himself.
So he had to think of a way to stop Wu Ying from surrendering—
and win through real combat,
to claim a top-tier Win Streak Reward.
Just as he was about to go ask Wan Xin for advice—
he suddenly saw some explosive news in the 9999 Chat Group.
After signing a Contract with Lin Jing and Ouyang,
a new player named Li Aoliang had arrived at 9999.
This guy had been asking around about Wan Xin in the group.
And recently, he dropped a bombshell: “Wan Xin is dead.”
Jiang Ye immediately checked the Level Ranking and Member List.
Sure enough, Wan Xin’s name had vanished from the ranking, and in the member list, his name had gone gray…
In the group, Li Aoliang was confirming the truth of Wan Xin’s death with another player:
Fang Zhe: 【Of course it’s true! I heard it from Cheng Qun—Wan Xin and Cheng Qun went into a dungeon deep in the 22nd floor hallway, and Cheng Qun saw him die with his own eyes!】
Li Aoliang: 【Uh… but I also see that Cheng Qun’s name has gone gray too?】
Fang Zhe: 【Cheng Qun didn’t come out in good shape either. He left 9999 and moved cross-apartment.】
【If you want to find Cheng Qun, wait for Apartment 0000 to open—he’s likely to head there and look for the Zhuang Zhou Dreaming Butterfly.】
Li Aoliang: 【I wasn’t looking for Cheng Qun—I wanted to find Wan Xin… but now… sigh…】
Fang Zhe: 【Nothing to sigh about. Wan Xin was a total unlucky b*stard. We all knew he wouldn’t last long. And look, sure enough—poof, gone.】
Jiang Ye stared at the chat and frowned slightly.
The f***? Wan Xin’s gone?!
But their deal—Wan Xin hadn’t given him the second half of the guide yet!
No telling if Cheng Qun picked up his body.
Maybe he could ask Cheng Qun for the other half of the guide later.
Jiang Ye felt a little wistful, but wasn’t too upset.
He had too many Replicas anyway, so his attention quickly shifted back to the Void Mirror Palace.
The central area of the Void Mirror Palace had become his secret base for Replica Generation.
The Comprehension Replica, still blessed with Luck, had just generated five more high-quality Replicas in one go!
This batch didn’t include any SS-tier Abilities,
but luckily, all five had S-tier Abilities!
Three were Element Affinity types: Lightning, Fire, and Spatial Affinity!
One was an Enhancement type: Super Stamina!
One was a Weapon Mastery type: Sword-Heart Enlightenment!
Lightning Affinity granted the S-tier skills Lightning Prison, Chain Thunderstorm,
and the A-tier defensive & counterattack skill Thunder God Armor.
With this setup, that Replica alone could probably beat Sha Bo, another Lightning-type.
Fire Affinity granted the S-tier skills Infernal Dragon’s Breath, Scorching Domain,
and the A-tier Flame That Burns the Heart.
Even on its own, that Replica could go toe-to-toe with most non-Dark-type powerhouses.
The Spatial Affinity skills were even stronger.
One S-tier skill, Void Singularity, summoned a 10-second micro black hole to swallow trash mobs.
When it ended, it caused a space collapse dealing massive AoE damage.
Another S-tier skill, Spatial Matrix, was a Domain Skill that created a 30×30 meter grid
where gravity direction could be freely manipulated.
Within the matrix, attacks could also be controlled to bounce and reflect freely!
Overall, a seriously powerful combo.
The only downside: the domain’s range wasn’t very large.
There was also an A-tier skill, Rift Storm, which counted as a fairly powerful offensive move.
It could deal defense-ignoring damage to targets by cutting through spatial rifts.
These three Element Affinity Replicas, along with the previous Ice Element Replica, were all high-attack types.
But it was obvious that the Spatial and Lightning elements had noticeably higher combat power than Fire and Ice.
As for the other two Replicas with Sword-Heart Enlightenment and Super Stamina,
Jiang Ye tried them out as well.
Both possessed combat power not inferior to the S-tier Elemental Abilities.
Sword-Heart Enlightenment significantly increased the power of sword-type weapons.
It came with two S-tier skills: Thoughtless Sword and Invincible Sword,
as well as one A-tier skill: Thirty-Six Sword Forms.
Super Stamina was essentially natural brute strength.
Not only did it provide immense raw power, but more importantly, it allowed 200% efficiency on the Stamina attribute!
It came with two S-tier skills: Savage Force and Titan’s Grip,
and one A-tier skill: War Stomp.
Even at Level 0, the Super Stamina Replica could barehandedly snap Bronze-tier Equipment without using any skill.
With skills activated, even Silver-tier gear could be snapped easily.
If a Gold-tier weapon showed up, it would probably still get cracked!
These two non-elemental Replicas specialized in powerful physical attacks.
When fused or used in coordination, the result would be absolutely terrifying.
Together, these five Replicas each had massive development potential.
Jiang Ye hoped that once they grew stronger, each one could be powerful enough to stand on its own.
So, without hesitation, he fed all five S-tier Replicas and the two SS-tier Replicas
a full set of Black Iron, Bronze, and Silver Attribute Fruits.
With a team like this, Jiang Ye naturally began to think about Replica Leveling.
Raising a Replica to Level 10 would grant an additional +10 in both Stamina and Energy.
And in his case, leveling up was practically effortless.
Of course, there was another important reason—
He’d taken time to carefully study the SS-tier Replica Li Zhi.
And this research brought a surprising discovery—
Although this SS-tier Replica only had a single S-tier skill, Vow,
the value of this skill far exceeded Jiang Ye’s expectations!
When Li Zhi activated the skill Vow, three options would automatically appear in his mind:
Set Goal, Set Time Limit, and Reward/Penalty Tier.
Among them, Set Goal and Set Time Limit were input manually by Li Zhi.
Reward/Penalty Tier, however, was auto-evaluated by the skill itself based on the chosen goal and time frame.
In other words, if the goal was too easy, the Reward Tier might only be F-tier or D-tier.
But if the difficulty was extremely high, the tier could reach S, SS, or even SSS.
Of course, higher isn’t always better.
If you completed the goal, sure, you’d get an SSS-tier reward.
But if you failed, the penalty would also be SSS-tier.
Worst case, the character might just straight-up get deleted!
If a regular player had this ability, they’d probably need a lot of time to grow.
Since it had no offensive moves at the start,
they’d need to start with some small Vows, gradually grow stronger, and only then take on high-difficulty challenges.
But Jiang Ye was different.
He had an army of Replicas behind him—he could take on SSS-tier objectives from Level 0.
His biggest surprise, though, was—
according to the system prompt, if he completed an SSS-tier goal,
the entire SS-tier Ability "Lofty Ambition" could be upgraded to SSS-tier!
That meant Lofty Ambition might become his first-ever SSS-tier Ability!
Even more exciting—
when testing an SSS-tier goal, he had set the objective as: Kill 3 Apartment Administrators.
Time limit: 30 minutes.
And killing Apartment Administrators was already something on his to-do list.
At the right time, he could simply swap in Li Zhi to complete the kill.
Thirty minutes for three kills? Piece of cake!
He even had the three targets in mind already—
The Administrators of Apartment 4444, 1010, and 9999. Perfect set!
Still, to better understand the details of the Vow skill,
Jiang Ye decided to first use "Leveling Up" as the objective,
to test what kind of S-tier rewards it would give.
And so—
Five S-tier Replicas, along with two SS-tier ones, used Replica Swap to head to Apartment 9999.
Then, they marched straight for the depths of the 22nd floor hallway.
He chose the 22nd floor hallway not just for leveling,
but also to investigate the cause of Wan Xin’s death.
What Jiang Ye didn’t expect was…
Back in Apartment 4444,
Replica No. 1 and the Light-type Replica split up to smash Grave Mounds.
The loot was random, and Jiang Ye didn’t study it closely.
But Replica No. 1 used this chance to level up quickly by killing Eerie Beings.
After reaching Level 8, he casually smashed open another Grave Mound—
only to find a pitch-black wooden coffin inside!
Though it was wooden, special glyphs were engraved on it,
making the coffin look quite high-end—and radiating a sinister, eerie aura.
Jiang Ye’s goal was to find the Apartment Administrator as soon as possible.
So he suspected: Could the Administrator be hiding in this coffin?
The Light-type Replica, who had split off earlier, rushed back to regroup.
After fusing in a few strong Replicas, he cautiously approached the coffin and tried to pry open the lid.
But whether it was due to the glyphs or something else,
the lid couldn’t be opened by brute force—
not even by the Replica fused with Super Stamina.
No choice—Jiang Ye pulled out the Entropy Scythe.
Even if the coffin was incredibly valuable,
finding the Administrator was more urgent.
The scythe struck the coffin, finally breaking through the glyphs.
At that moment, with a gap torn open, Jiang Ye faintly heard something from inside.
He focused—and the Light-type turned into Light and Shadow Escape,
circling the coffin with the Entropy Scythe in rapid sweeps.
In no time, the entire coffin was destroyed.
The voice inside also became clearer—
“Help! Someone, let me out…”
Once the coffin was fully smashed,
a humanoid figure inside suddenly shouted in excitement:
“No way?! Someone actually heard me and got me out?!”
“I-I’m actually alive again?! Hahahahaha—”
Halfway through his laugh, he abruptly stopped.
Because this humanoid turned stiff the moment he saw Huang Bo, the Light-type.
His pupils trembled violently.
“Me? H-holy sh*t???”
