Chapter 472: Chapter 472- Minerva: Origin
The Queen leaned forward, resting her arms on top of her knees and causing her breasts to press together in a dangerously seductive way.
"Have you heard about twin souls? This body was created with the purpose of holding two souls and a fragment of a foreign power. Well, more than souls, you could say it is the spark of life, something that was cultivated as the second self"...
"A secondary persona that grew alongside the other soul. That’s who the soul, or rather the Queen, you know is. So your question as to who I am does not make sense. You were just used to seeing my other half until I surfaced."
Reinhardt was silent the entire time as he listened to what the Queen, or rather this woman, had to say. Still, everything she said sounded so absurd that he had difficulty believing it.
"How do I know you are telling me the truth?"
"Hmm? Well, I have no reason to lie to my honourable knight. However, if you want, you can use a lie detecting artefact or skill on me." The Queen proposed nonchalantly.
Since it was her own words, Reinhardt did not stand on ceremony. Although he knew it was extremely disrespectful and went against his chivalry, he needed to get to the source of this.
"Please excuse me."
Using
[Dimensional Storage]
, he took out a simple rope and tied it around the Queen’s arms.
"Oh my, it’s a little shocking?! I didn’t know you were into that kind of play? If it’s you, I don’t mind, you know." She teased as he inched closer to bind her.
It should be stressed how beguiling she looked right now. Plus, with that overwhelming level of seduction her body naturally released, it would make any man instantly fall for her. However, thanks to his many Divine Traits, he was able to shrug it off without much problem.
Reinhardt made a simple knot and sat back on his seat again. The binding was just for show really, to activate his title. If the Queen wanted, given her current power, she could easily break out of it.
The
[Inquisitor of Sacred Truth]
needed certain conditions to be met to be activated.
"By the authority of the Inquisitor, only the truth shall be spoken from this point on."
The moment he spoke those words, the effects [Tongue of Chains] and [Weight of Truth] appeared on the Queen.
"Hoh, so this is your skill, huh? I must say it’s quite powerful to even affect me." The Queen brought her tongue out and marvelled.
"Now then," Reinhardt began his question. "Are you really the Queen?"
"That’s right."
Neither the chains nor the weight activated, indicating that she was speaking the truth.
"Then all the things you said earlier..."
"All true. I have not lied about a single thing to my knight."
No reaction from the title again.
"How is it possible for two souls to exist in the same body, and what do you mean by being created?" Reinhardt continued his questioning.
"It’s just as I said, this body was created. I know it might sound ridiculous from the perspective of humans of this era, but it is the truth. How much do you know about her, or rather me? The question you ask is difficult to answer without being present during my conception. If you want, I can show you who I am."
The Queen proposed, staring straight into his eyes.
Reinhardt thought for a while before nodding his head. Usually, he wouldn’t fall for a demon’s words. However, he wanted to do everything he could to rescue the Queen. As for risk, he was the Divine Paladin. No trap or scheme of the demoness could work against him.
Seeing his decisiveness, the Queen smiled. She then uncoiled her legs, rose from her seat, and started walking towards him. She approached so close to him that he could smell the fragrance of lavender along with her own wild scent, coming from her body. It was intoxicating.
"What is...?"
Before Reinhardt could question her action, she sat on top of his lap. At that very moment, a heavenly sensation struck him. The softness of her body, her beguiling curves, the heat she radiated, and the aura of seduction, each and every element of this woman was like gunpowder. Dangerous and powerful.
"What does a man like you dream of, I wonder?"
She traced a finger along his cheek and spoke with those cherry red lips that were so close that he could just kiss them if he moved a little.
"Your power is strong, your spirit... infallible. It is resisting my power of dreams. However, to know about me, you must come to the world of dreams."
It was a dangerous proposal. Nevertheless, Reinhardt nodded his head.
The next moment, the Queen brought her face near and their lips met. It was not just any ordinary kiss but a deep and passionate one surging with heat. He could feel her tongue tangling with his, her breath tasting faintly of wine and something sweetly forbidden.
A pulse of magic rippled from her mouth into his, a thread of power that entered into his consciousness, wrapping around it.
Soon, Reinhardt found himself drifting into sleep. The world around him dimmed, and a second later, he reclined back on the seat, unconscious just like the rest of the populace of the capital.
Of course, it was through his own choice.
.
.
When Reinhardt opened his eyes again... well, he had no eyes. Right now, he was in a translucent form, weightless like a ghost suspended between thought and substance.
In front of him was a facility unlike anything he had ever seen. Seamless chrome floors with conduits embedded beneath glass panels. Holographic displays and indecipherable patterns of light.
People here wore long white coats, looking just like researchers. They passed through him without the slightest reaction.
"This was..." A memory!
Recollection of the past that the Queen hid deep within the recesses of her consciousness.
