When are we leaving? Right now!
So, silver Wood.
It's a city that existed 300 years ago, so I couldn't quite place it, but thanks to the map I saw earlier, I know its location.
Rozelia region.
I've heard of it in the Dungeon God, but honestly, I never really went there.
Apparently, things like perfume and oil are famous there, but to be frank, did I ever have a reason to go? From the player's perspective, it was more profitable to stick around Iushil and run dungeons.
So, I never really thought about it either, until Chunsik's words changed my mind.
It's a region highly likely to have the Rune of the Abyss.
Thinking about it that way, there's no reason not to go.
Right now, I have three Rune of the Abysss.
If I collect one more here, that'll make four, so gathering the seven needed for the final ending doesn't feel that far off.
"Chunsik, do you know where that place is?"
― Of course, I do. Would you like to go there sometime?"
It seems Chunsik noticed that I wanted to visit that place.
― I don't know what it is, but collecting them must be good, right? Like coupons."
Coupons.
Why do these words come out of your mouth?
And from an undead's mouth at that.
"Hmm."
― What's wrong, master?"
I'm a bit conflicted.
I'm not alone now. I have the adventurer party, Dungeon God, with me, don't I?
Because of that, I can't make a decision on my own.
Barkal and Serena might not be able to leave Iushil due to their own affairs.
"I'll ask about the location later. There's something I have to settle first."
― Understood. If master says so."
Chunsik nodded the wolf's head he was holding, up and down.
― Then, before you dismiss the summon."
Does he have something else to say?
― Please make sure to fill out the survey, master."
Got it, chunsik.
Why is this undead trying harder at life than me?
* * *
I tried out the 'Dullahan Summon' that Mortis gave me. I can safely say that's how I finished my morning schedule.
So, I naturally headed to the Bearded Cat Inn.
With the Dungeon God party having reached 'Silver-Rank', it was necessary to discuss with the members how we should proceed from here.
And, I also needed to bring up the idea of visiting the Rozelia region.
Absolutely not.
It's not for the selfish reason of gathering the Rune of the Abyss.
"Serena."
Upon arriving at the Bearded Cat Inn, the first thing I saw was Serena.
She was, in truth, the biggest hurdle to cross if I wanted to go to the Rozelia region.
Barkal could probably get through easily since he had something called 'Proof of the Barbarian', but Serena didn't have any such thing.
"Brother Dmihtan."
I couldn't just recklessly suggest going to Rozelia to her.
Since there was no particular reason, I needed some sort of justification to convince her.
"I'm really sorry, but could our party go to the Rozelia region!?"
Huh?
I was just thinking about the Rozelia region in my head.
But then the exact same words came out of her mouth, leaving me utterly flustered.
Is she reading my mind? No, a cleric can't do that.
"I—I know this must be sudden and confusing."
Yeah, I'm confused.
I thought you'd learned telepathy or something.
"Well, you remember how we gave the Adventurer's Guild a request to find someone before?"
At Serena's words, I nodded.
In exchange for helping clear out the Iushil underground dungeon, the Adventurer's Guild promised to help find someone for her.
"They told me the results today."
That was quick. I listened closely to her explanation.
"They said there are three people matching the criteria. And all three are currently... in the Rozelia region!"
"Hm."
"So... I was wondering if maybe our next destination could be Rozelia!"
What a coincidence. I wanted to go to the Rozelia region too!
All in all, it's a relief. The greatest obstacle to leaving Iushil, Serena herself, is now volunteering to go.
"The Rozelia region is also a popular tourist destination, you know? There's rose perfume, rose oil, and even rose hot springs! It's perfect for relaxing after a journey!"
She's practically desperate to go to Rozelia.
So, I decided to happily approve Serena's suggestion to go to Rozelia.
"I don't need to unwind. We don't really have a reason to go to Rozelia."
But the words that came out of my mouth were different than I'd intended.
"Why don't we just give it a try!?"
"We don't have a reason. If you must, you can go alone."
Why am I refusing?
I silently asked myself. What exactly am I thinking?
Could it be that, since Serena brought up going to Rozelia first, my twisted subconscious is trying to use this as an excuse to skimp on expenses?
Did I unconsciously think all the way to that point?
Damn.
My thriftiness is too intense!
I'm way too clever!
Let me make it clear for Serena right here.
We don't have to go, but since we're teammates, I'll go with her. Of course, any expenses incurred for this will be excluded from the final settlement.
"I don't mind going alone, but well... since there's an Adventurer's Guild in Rozelia too, moving our base for a while isn't a bad idea, right?"
"No matter how you look at it, there's no real reason... mrmph."
Just as I opened my mouth to demonstrate my frugality to Serena, I bit my tongue and shut myself up.
"B—Brother Dmihtan?"
Serena looked at me with a worried face.
Once again, my subconsciousness must have gotten involved. Seems like I felt a pang of conscience.
How could I be about to talk money with a comrade I nearly died with together?
That's not just being frugal, that's just being a miser. No, maybe even a sociopath.
I must be insane.
I shook my head, berating myself internally.
But think about it.
If I save a bit now, it could be really good later.
Rich people don't just spend less—they don't waste money without reason. If it's not something that has to be spent on, you can just skip it.
Still, man!
* 〈Thrag howls with laughter at your clownery.〉
"Grnnngh...!"
I gritted my teeth and stared at Serena.
"S—Serena!"
"Y-yes!?"
"We're going to the Rozelia region. Together!"
No need to bring out the scales here. I was already planning to get information about the Rune of the Abyss in Rozelia anyway.
"R-really!?"
"I won't ask again. I might change my mind."
I might really change my mind, too.
"Thank you! Thank you so much, brother Dmihtan!"
"Grgrrrrk...!"
As Serena beamed in delight, my boiling voice leaked out, as if it was desperately trying to take back what I just said.
Hold back.
Trying to squeeze money out of this is really too psychotic.
Desperately biting my lips to endure, I could almost see the illusion of gold coins flying away behind Serena.
Urgh.
I won't forget this.

With the Dungeon God party deciding to leave Iushil and head to the city of 'Od Heim' in the Rozelia region, all that's left is to fix a date.
"When should we depart!"
Maybe it's the excitement of finally being able to meet the person she's searched for so long, but Serena's voice was bubbly.
"The sooner, the better, but we can't leave right this minute."
"Right? There's so much to prepare."
She's right.
We decided to leave town, so we've got tons of preparation to do.
It's important to restock the consumables used in the prior dungeon.
And buy food for the journey.
If possible, I'd also like to get some gear that I or the party members can use.
Looks like I'll be spending a fortune again. With a headache coming on, I put my hand to my head and shook it.
"We should probably tell Barkal as well that we're leaving Iushil, right?"
"Of course."
Even if he's a barbarian and doesn't think much, there are things that need to be said.
Oh, right.
Let's also let Hordi, the innkeeper, know we'll be vacating our room.
"What? You're leaving? Moving to another inn?"
"No. We've decided to leave Iushil."
At the mention of vacating the room, Hordi slightly frowned, but as soon as he heard we were leaving Iushil, he immediately brightened.
"I thought it was because the room was so bad!"
"Hordi, to be honest, the room wasn't that good."
"Dmihtan, being too honest isn't always good."
That's true too.
"Anyway, so you're leaving Iushil."
Shhft.
Hordi held out his hand. What does that mean? Did he figure out Barkal broke the window?
Damn.
I tried to hide it by hanging up a curtain, but he figured it out after all.
"What's the matter, barbarian doesn't shake hands?"
A handshake?
He was holding out his hand just to shake hands?
With a dazed look, I took Hordi's hand.
"Wherever you go, I know you'll do well. You're the cleverest barbarian I've ever met."
"Thank you for the compliment."
You were the most money-driven innkeeper (first one) I've ever met. I wanted to say that, but is there any need to be mean?
"And the window repairs cost one silver coin."
Maybe I should have. Yeah, let's just say it.
"Just joking! Hahaha!"
Riding the highs and lows of heaven and hell for one silver coin, I accepted Hordi's handshake.
"So? When are you planning to leave?"
Not sure.
We haven't really set a date yet, so I have no idea.
I was just thinking about the date to leave Iushil.
"Brother!"
Suddenly, the door to the Bearded Cat Inn burst open, and a big guy strode in.
A barbarian with a skull helmet—Barkal.
"What is it, Barkal?"
"The security forces are coming to arrest us! We need to prepare for battle right now!"
At his words, I felt my head spin.
The security forces are coming to arrest Barkal.
You don't have to think hard about whose fault that probably is.
"Hordi, did you ask when we're leaving?"
I smiled.
"Looks like we have to leave right now."
A tired smile spread across Hordi's face.
