The Lord Of Blood Hill-Chapter 188: Why Are You Carving Your Name on My Things?

Ronald dismisses Arius's words lightly, "Prince Arius, you can't say that! We would never want to harm you."
Spencer chimes in, "Your Highness, you misunderstand us. We never had such intentions!"
Arius replies, "Is that so? Then that was my mistake in blaming everyone!. But I doubt the two royal brothers you support would be happy to see me alive."
Pacino feels like he might faint from hearing such dangerous topics. Am I going to be silenced later? But at the same time, this is so thrilling! Despite sweating profusely, Pacino, driven by his gossip-loving nature, listens intently to these high-level secrets.
Seeing Pacino's mix of fear and curiosity, Henwell can't help but chuckle, drawing the attention of others.
Crocker from the neutral faction smiles and asks, "Henwell, do you have any thoughts?"
Henwell grins and asks Spencer, "Brother, has Melissa come to Silver Peak City?"
Spencer glares at Henwell, "Get lost!"
Henwell shamelessly pulls out a beautiful pocket watch, "This is a gift I made myself. You must give it to Melissa."
As he reaches out, Catherine snatches the exquisite pocket watch, "Let me see!"
She examines it, appreciating its craftsmanship.
Catherine casually tucks the watch into her clothing, "It's a nice piece! It's mine now."
Spencer says flatly, "That belongs to my sister."
Catherine glances at him, "I said, now that it's in my hands, it's mine."
Then Catherine turns to Henwell, " After I saved your life more than once, you won't even give me this little thing?"
Henwell grimaces, "Your Highness, I have a gift prepared for you. I'll send it to your residence later. It's custom-made to thank you, featuring the Billie royal sunflower and your emblem, the white rose."
Hearing this, Catherine nods in satisfaction, "Make sure to deliver it soon! It better be more exquisite than this one!"
With that, she casually tosses the beautiful pocket watch aside.
Henwell swiftly flicks a ribbon from his chest, expertly wrapping it around the pocket watch and giving it a gentle shake, causing it to land precisely in front of Spencer.
Spencer catches the watch and gives Henwell a scrutinizing look.
The others at the table, all of knightly rank, can clearly see the skill behind Henwell's move.
Crocker claps softly, "Impressive! They say the lord of Blood Hill is quite formidable, and it seems the reputation is well-deserved."
Fabio is a bit surprised, "Henwell, have you become a Battle Knight?"
"Just a stroke of luck!" Henwell replies modestly.
Raziel, the eldest son of Count Quinns, remarks in admiration, "If that's just luck, it makes the rest of us look pretty incompetent!"
Arius chimes in, "Henwell, you should make one for Karitan, and while you're at it, make one for me too!"
Fabio leans over Pacino, reaching into Henwell's pocket to pull out Henwell’s own pocket watch. "Let me see what's so special about this thing!"
Everyone gathers around to examine it, soon praising Henwell's craftsmanship.
Just then, a few more people approach from a distance, and Fabio casually slips the watch into his own pocket.
Henwell's eyes widen, "Fabio, that's my—"
Fabio interrupts with a serious expression, "Prince Jonathan is coming over, let's stand and greet him."
As Henwell stands, he continues, "That’s my pocket watch!"
"It's mine now! I really like your gift!"
"Come on! I'll make you another one later, this one has my name on it!"
"Hey! Why would you carve your name on my pocket watch?!"
Before Henwell can say more, Jonathan, the grand duke's fourth son, arrives at the table.
Jonathan greets everyone and then turns to Henwell, "You must be Henwell! Why are you out here? Why not join us in the inner hall?"
Henwell smiles, "Your Highness, I'm just a knightly lord, so it's only proper for me to be outside. Besides, I find the atmosphere out here quite pleasant, and the food is just as delicious!"
Jonathan scolds his attendant, "How could you let the lord of Blood Hill stay outside?"
Then, turning back to Henwell, he says, "Oh dear! With so many guests, it's the first time my staff has handled such a grand event. They were so focused on the important guests that they overlooked the lord of Blood Hill. How embarrassing! Henwell, you won't hold this against me, will you?"
Inwardly, Henwell catches the subtext of Jonathan's words and smirks.
Just a minor lord. Not a distinguished guest or a big shot.
Hehe!
That's all there is to it?!
Is it a bit advantageous in words?
Henwell shakes his head, "Not at all! With the Midsummer Festival and Arius's wedding, things are bound to be hectic, and some oversights are understandable."
"That's good! Now that you're not upset, let's head to the inner hall to talk," Jonathan suggests.
Henwell sits back down, "No need! I'm quite comfortable here, and I'm well-fed too!"
It doesn't matter where I am; I can still achieve the partnerships I want and make a fortune.
Seeing Henwell sit, Arius follows suit, along with Fabio. Spencer and Glens, representing the noble alliance, naturally don't feel the need to give face to the fourth prince. With a knowing smile, they sit back and prepare to enjoy the unfolding drama.
Ronald and Raziel, whose fathers are earls in the royal faction, don't support the fourth prince either. Ronald's father, Count Lowel, backs the second prince, Anthony. Raziel's father, Count Quinns, supports the third prince, Christo. Both are happy to see Prince Jonathan in an awkward spot and sit down to watch.
Crocker, representing the neutral nobles, whose father, Count Reyes, supports no prince, also smiles and takes a seat as everyone else does.
As for Catherine and Karitan, both their statuses as powerful princesses or simply as ladies exempt them from standing to greet anyone. They remain seated without a care.
Around the table, only Pacino stands awkwardly alone.
Prince Jonathan's face stiffens, and he forces a smile, "Henwell, what are you doing? Surely everyone can't stay outside!"
Henwell shrugs, "Your Highness, as you can see, I have many friends here, just catching up!"
Wherever I am, that's the center of attention!
Jonathan takes a deep breath and says to Pacino, "Could you make room for me?"
"Of course, Your Highness!" Pacino is about to leave when Henwell stands up, "Pacino, your stories were fascinating. Could you tell me more about the specialties of your territory? Like that berry wine!"
As Henwell stands, the others gradually follow. Princess Catherine stands up the quickest, clearly intending to follow Henwell. She's delighted to discover that Henwell has some friction with the ducal royal family. This is indeed a good thing!
