The Max Level Hero Has Returned!-Chapter 1105

Chapter 1105
When Davey suddenly intruded on the negotiation meeting, Tsuna was left momentarily speechless. It was only after a few seconds that she began flailing around, shouting, “Hey! Are you kidding me right now?! What do you think you’re doing?!”
“Just pause the meeting for a second. No one's going to start a war just because a meeting stops for a bit,” Davey nonchalantly said.
“Like you’d know!” she raged.
“If you don't cooperate now, lord knows how many more people will die over the next few minutes.”
Isildi was already clashing with the fake Sleesia, doing her best to hold her off. Even so, ‘Sleesia’ was just still an artificial creation; she wasn't the real hive mind core.
With Tsuna restrained, Davey lifted her into the air and snapped his fingers.
Dozens of ice spears appeared and instantly surrounded her, her face paling at the sight. Her instincts screamed that her life was in danger.
The surrounding soldiers, who had been guarding the area with tense expressions, were clearly shaken by Davey’s sudden taking of Tsuna as a hostage. Of course, the ones from Alberta were the most panicked.
Davey returned outside and shouted, “Come at me, bro! I know you’re watching. If you don’t show up soon, I can’t guarantee what’ll happen to your sweet Tsuna here, Belga!”
He knew that bastard was probably watching the world through each totria, and would react immediately.
Sure enough, the effect was immediate.
Fwooosh!!! Boom!!
The first to react was the fake Sleesia who was still battling Isildi. She ignored Isildi entirely and tore through space itself, launching herself toward Davey with apparent obsession.
The torn space was demonstrably dangerous. The air warped and sucked inward, seeming like it could pull someone in and crush them as if they were succulent strawberries tossed into a blender.
Even so, Sleesia wasn’t his focus.
Crack!!
Of course, Illyna wasn’t about to just stand by and watch either. She used Caldeiras to slash the air, neutralizing the spatial rift near Davey. A shattering sound rang out like glass breaking, shocking Tsuna into squeezing her eyes shut.
“Hey.” The fake Sleesia, who had only just turned her back on Isildi, heard a cold voice. “You must be out of your mind.”
Crunch!!
Sleesia was indeed a powerful Princess of the Abyss, but Isildi wasn't someone even the real Sleesia could mess with lightly. Now that she had turned her back on Isildi, the result was obvious.
A sharp metallic screech rang out, followed by a series of brutal impact sounds. Sleesia fell from the sky, her entire body bursting with blood.
“Who do you think you’re turning your back on?” Isildi grabbed Sleesia by the throat and pinned her down with a cold glare. “Hey Davey, go ahead and finish what you were doing.”

Gaaa!

Sleesia grimaced from the pain. She had sustained such severe damage from the attack that she found it difficult to even move her limbs.
Davey spoke with a devious grin, “Alright! Now that the pest has been dealt with, it’s time for the main show.”
“W-Wait a minute! Y-You’re not really going to kill me, right?! Right?!” Tsuna screamed with a pale face.
The ice spears trembled, practically chomping at the bit and moments away from flying toward her.
“Who knows? Don't worry, you’ve died once already! I'm pretty sure the second time won’t be as hard.”
“You... You psycho bastard!”
Davey responded to her scream with a soft smile before his eyes dramatically widened. “
Oopsie doopsie!
My trigger finger slipped.”
Boom!!
A vicious ice spear went flying toward her. Before it could reach her, however, the ground trembled as something massive began to rise from below. The eyes of Tsuna, who’d closed them and resigned herself to her fateful death, opened wide when she realized nothing had happened.
“Nice job! Thanks to your generous contribution, we managed to draw that bastard out of his hidey hole.”
She questioned with shock, “What the hell is going on?!”
“That was just an illusion, dumbass.”
Tsuna's legs gave out, and she collapsed to the ground.
“You! I’m seriously going to kill you,” she muttered in disbelief. Her eyes then widened as the monstrous form rising from the ground began to shrink, eventually forming the shape of a human boy.
“Y-You?!”
Davey smiled. “Fancy seeing you here, spiritual entity Belga! You’re the reason that thing attacked Vatan, no?”
Tsuna made a confused look. “What do you mean by that?”
“It was all to protect you. He was acting solely to destroy the Vatan Kingdom that harmed you. In a way, it’s you we have to thank for this insanity.”
“But... Belga was definitely...”
“Yeah, he was dead.”
Davey hadn’t been sure if the death of the physical body actually meant true death for a spiritual entity. Typical spiritual entities might fade away after such a loss, but he doubted that Belga was one of them.
“Then, that's really him?”
“Yup. That’s really Belga, in the wiggly flesh.”
She just kept staring at Belga with a confused face.
Davey teased, “You’re human and you came back to life. What makes Belga any different?”
“Belga...” Tsuna didn't really know what else to say. After all, she and Belga hadn’t actually known each other that long. In fact, they’d originally been enemies who barely paid attention to each other.
“Tsuna...” Belga called her name softly, but his eyes gave a chilling flash. His hand warped into a massive claw before he lunged at Davey without any hesitation.
Having predicted the attack, Davey quickly pulled out Blue Ribbon to block his swipe. The most effective weapon would have obviously been the Fire Sword Lavatein, but he went with Blue Ribbon instead since Belga was already familiar with that sword’s power.
“Belga!!” Tsuna, who had been sitting on the ground, shouted, “Why... Why did you end up like this?!”
“Tsuna...” He only called her name, and she trembled before trying to approach him.
Davey stepped in front of her. “Hey, what the hell are you doing? Do you really still see him as Belga?”
“But that
is
Belga! He’s the same Belga that came to save me; the same kid who was struggling with starvation!”
Her desperate cry only got a sigh from Davey. “Is there seriously zero thought running through that dense head of yours? He’s the one who killed your father.”
Hearing that shocking revelation, Tsuna looked at Belga. “Did you... really kill him?”
She looked like she was begging him to say no. The truth was that Marquis Barogo had killed the old chancellor with poison, but Belga had nonetheless been involved in helping the marquis at the time.
“I... I... I...”
Belga showed a change in demeanor for the first time. He flinched and staggered, starting to mutter something else as well. However, he was never able to finish his sentence.
“Fire!!”
A sudden shout rang out from somewhere nearby before a valley of flaming arrows flew toward him.
Being almost entirely composed of totrias, Belga was, of course, highly vulnerable to fire. His eerie eyes flared, and he swung his massive claw at the incoming arrows.
The arrows were shattered mid-air with a metallic screech, and he began to charge again as if he’d gone berserk.
“Belga... Belga!!”
“Tsuna de Murgent, don’t cross the line,” Davey said coldly.
“But what if he really didn’t do it...?”
“Regardless of whether he did or not, he nonetheless helped Marquis Barogo and caused a massive famine in Alberta. Don’t forget that.”
Davey reached out toward Belga, who was preparing to rush the soldiers.
Thud!!
A bullet of dark energy slammed into Belga, sending him flying back and bouncing off the ground several times. After a series of pained grunts, he finally rolled to a stop.
His massive frame, compacted and dense, gave him an almost monstrous toughness. Knowing that, Davey wasn’t foolish enough to think that attack would be the end of it.
The totrais had clearly utilized some massive reservoir of vitality to create that monster ‘Sleesia.’ As such, he knew that wouldn’t be enough to finish him off.
“T-Tsuna...”
Even in his collapsed, madness-filled state, Belga only called out to Tsuna. Among all the people witnessing the scene, the one most shaken was Tsuna herself.
“No! I hate this... I really hate this...” she mumbled in a daze, slumping down to the ground once more.
“Gaaah!!! Tsuna!!” Belga, lying on the ground, suddenly roared and charged straight at Davey.
“Don’t hurt... Tsuna!!”
Belga clearly saw Davey as a threat to Tsuna, acting without any concern for his own body.
Boom!!!
Davey shot a massive blast of energy from his hand, blowing away part of Belga’s upper body. Yet despite suffering such injuries, Belga screamed like a mad beast and charged again.
One of the traits totrias shared was that they consumed vast quantities of genetic material to evolve, yet Belga wasn’t using most of those genes.
“You know what’ll happen, don’t you?”
There was no way he didn’t. The more he evolved, the more he would lose any trace of his true self. He may have seemed free from the outside, yet in truth, he was anything but.
“Gaaah!!”
Davey didn't know what to say, not intimidated in the slightest bit.
Belga, once a terrifying hive mind, was no longer enough to inspire fear in anyone. Instead, all people felt when they saw him was pity.
Anyone with a brain could tell he was throwing himself at Davey, not out of rage, but to selflessly protect Tsuna.
“Damn dude, you’re really playing the villain here,” Reina murmured to Davey.
He clicked his tongue with annoyance at the jab, soon spotting an opening in Belga’s movements. Knowing that the enemy required his full focus, Davey combined Blue Ribbon and Red Ribbon to form Super Ribbon.
“Get back!!!” Belga showed no signs of backing down.
Unfortunately, if Davey simply let him be, the damage would only grow worse. The monsters currently attacking Vatan might stop for a period once they won the battle, but there would always be the possibility of them turning their sights on all of humanity.
In fact, he knew it would be an inevitable consequence of any mercy.
[Longsword]
[Masterpiece]
Immense force began to gather around the long, straight, bluish-red blade of Super Ribbon. Soon after, a swirling energy was condensed around it. Davey gripped the hilt with one hand and supported the pommel with the other, then pulled it slightly back like he was drawing a bow.
He locked his gaze squarely on Belga.
Belga’s eyes suddenly widened as he turned to look back at Davey with shock, yet by the time he sensed the danger, it was already too late.
Without hesitation, Davey swung his sword.
[No-Name King]
Screaming with a sound like the very air was tearing apart, the ultimate longsword technique exploded forth. Its blade energy swept across everything within its range. Belga, standing at the edge of its range, halted midair.
A brilliant light surged and surrounded everything for an instant. Once the dazzling wave of blade energy finally faded, Tsuna clasped her hands over her mouth.
In that fleeting moment, Belga had poured all his strength out to absorb the full brunt of the strike’s aftermath alone. Of course, Davey hadn’t struck with the intention of harming any bystanders, but the shockwaves still could’ve hurt Tsuna, who was still collapsed on the ground.
Belga had shielded her from all of it by taking the full force onto himself. As he fell limp through the air and his power faded, the one-sidedly overwhelmed ‘Sleesia’ contorted like a lump of silly putty and shot back to be absorbed back into his body.
That wasn’t all, either.
Looking to the skies, everyone could see an overwhelming rain of violet flesh-like masses pour down and rush into his body as well. It was undoubtedly the same swarm of totrias that had been attacking Vatan.
It seemed they were desperately trying to revive him, but Belga had sustained such a powerful strike that he couldn’t rise again.

Ah. Aaah!

At that moment, Tsuna slowly approached the fallen Belga. She took his limp hand as tears began streaming down her face. “Why? Why did it have to end like this?”
She realized that Belga had taken the full brunt of the blow simply to protect her. Tsuna silently wept, shaken to the core. “Why would you throw away your life just to protect me...”
They had been enemies, only meeting for a brief time. Even so, the overwhelming grief she felt made it impossible to hold back her tears.
Watching her cry, Belga slowly turned his eyes toward her. Exerting great effort, he managed to lift a trembling hand and wipe away her tears.
His voice cracked as he finally managed to speak. “J-Just... D-Don’t... don’t cry...”
Tsuna broke down into further sobs.
Perhaps she was seeing the parallel between his sacrifice and that of her father, who had also chosen destruction for her sake. Even with her past life’s memories, the cruel reality was just too bitter for her to bear.
Seeing her grip his cold, lifeless hand as she cried her heart out, Davey quietly shook the blood off of Super Ribbon.
“Are you going to put him down?” Reina asked.
Davey answered with a subdued expression, “I have to.”
Belga was unlike any other spiritual entity he had encountered before. He was like a being of pure will, like a child. Davey assumed his obsession with Tsuna had started when she was the first to make him forget his hunger.
How that was even possible, he didn’t know either.
Reina sighed at his response. She then stepped toward Tsuna to separate her from Belga. “Stop it. He’s dangerous.”

N-No...” Belga, who had collapsed in silence, suddenly opened his eyes wide.
“B-Belga?!”
“Get back!!” As if driven by instinct, he suddenly shoved Tsuna away. She screamed as she was flung back, but Reina swiftly caught her and brought her to safety.
“Back... Stay back... It’s dangerous... here... RUN!” He shouted with great difficulty.
Tsuna, in tears, asked with a trembling voice, “Why... Why are you...?”
For the first time, Belga smiled. “You... You helped me forget what hunger felt like.”
Feeling that his one sentence was enough, he gave a faint smile of genuine happiness.
Tsuna kept sobbing, and Reina, still holding her, seemed overcome by emotion as well. She covered her mouth with one hand, blinking rapidly to fight off the tears.
Crack!! Crunch!!
It wasn't long before Belga began to distort as if he were about to explode.
Something inside of him had begun to stir, a massive force that seemed to have been lying dormant for a long time.
Belga desperately tried to move away from Tsuna, struggling to restrain whatever was trying to burst out of him.
Watching him throw his life away for such a small reason, trying to protect Tsuna until the very end, everyone around him could only remain silent.
No one knew what to do.
Isildi broke the silence with an urgent shout, “Davey, do it now! If that thing goes off, we’re all screwed!!”
He was also thinking the same, and could sense a countless number of spiritual entities stirring inside Belga.
It felt like some massive vitality had been lying dormant within Belga, only awakened when he became the hive mind of the totrias.
[Annihilation and salvation. The path will change based on your decision.]
He heard a voice echo in his head, as if a revelation had descended. He wondered if it was what Goddess Freyja meant by annihilation and salvation. She had said she’d respect his choice to the very end.
Of course, logically speaking, there was no way to do anything about Belga by that point—at least, there shouldn’t have been.
Yet, as if acting on instinct, Davey opened his Pocket Plane and pulled something out. It was none other than the tablet that Goddess Freyja had given him when Behemoth had appeared.
He stared at the faintly resonating stone tablet, then looked again at Belga still trying to hold himself back while begging them to run away. His gaze then shifted to Reina, who was silently crying as she held the sobbing Tsuna tightly in her arms.
Davey wondered what Goddess Freyja was thinking, watching it all unfold.
“You idiot! Are you just going to keep standing there?! If you don’t take care of that thing now, things are going to get really bad!”
Davey remained silent for a moment longer before he clenched his hands around the tablet.
“Screw it. Let’s just give it the ol’ college try.”
Davey began chanting the inscription on the tablet like a possessed soul, speaking with clear fluency despite it being written in a script he couldn’t even read.
[Devour]
A power suddenly erupted from the tablet. For some mysterious reason, it felt eerily similar to Davey’s Predatory Assimilation.
