The Ruined World Was Mistaken for a Game-Chapter 80.2: Great War (4)

Solis, the capital of Sillion Kingdom.
A fierce battle was unfolding in Solis as well. Over half the enemies pouring out from the Gate of Invasion had surged toward Solis. It was as if the enemies realized this place was the most important.
The largest number of heroes and Arsilan people had been deployed to hold the line in Solis.
Jinwoo, having entrusted command to Heina, rampaged through Solis, slaughtering enemies. Though he was pouring all his calculations and Magic Power into the Magic Barrier, his experience and legacy had not vanished.
Jinwoo wore all the mythic gear of Arsilan. These were items he’d received from comrades who had vanished. As he ran along the wall, swinging his sword at the giants, massive sword energy burst forth and split the giants in an instant.
He reached out and summoned a spear rippling with flames.
He threw it at the onrushing siege engines, and a massive burst of flame swept through them head-on.
“That man is our king!”
“Hold the line!”
“Leon nim is with us!”
Their king fought at the frontlines.
The heroes saw Jinwoo and felt their morale rise. All traps planted near Solis had already been exhausted, and the multiple layers of thick barriers around the wall had all been destroyed.
Day and night had changed many times, and every village the heroes had opened was now gone. Only Solis, Marogo, and Evanth at the far rear remained.
They had endured for a long time. It was hope that allowed them to endure.
Jinwoo moved ceaselessly, pouring everything he had toward the enemy.
‘Just a little longer…!’
The power flooding into his body grew even stronger.
The information pouring from International City Marogo, the immense Magic Power flowing in from the Magic Tower and Solis, these forces relentlessly battered his soul.
The more intense the pain, the more freely he could move. Because that pain was the clearest proof that everything was proceeding successfully.
His whole body felt nothing but pain. He couldn’t tell if he was gripping a sword, a flesh-eating bug, a sharp blade, or molten lava.
When the sword slipped from his hand, the heroes picked it up and returned it to him. Even then, he didn’t realize the sword had fallen from his hand.
When Jinwoo smiled, the heroes smiled with him.
Cracks began to form in the wall that once seemed unbreakable, and enemies were now entering through it. But under Heina’s command, everyone united and became the wall themselves.
[Almost finished analyzing!]
A message came from Tiris.
Tiris, along with all the disciples of the Magic Tower, had gathered in Marogo, pouring in all their strength.
It was a series of miracles.
If even one thing had been lacking, they wouldn’t have made it this far.
And then it happened.
[There’s a change at the Gate!]
Helby’s communication came in from the Gate of Invasion, where she had been unleashing attacks. Jinwoo pulled up his Status Window and looked toward the Gate.
As Helby said, there was a change at the Gate of Invasion. The enemies pouring out like black dust clustered together into the shape of a face. A massive hand attached to the Gate pulled that face out and held it up.
Withered, screaming faces clung to both hands of the Gate. One of the faces opened its jaw wide, and an overwhelming energy, enough to distort space, began to gather.
The Gate of Invasion hadn’t just been pouring out numbers all this time.
It had been accumulating an immense force. There was no doubt it carried the will of a higher being.
A dense breath of darkness surged from the Gate, aimed at the heart of International City Marogo. It carried the energy to destroy everything it touched.
Helby spread her wings and faced the breath. She unleashed her own with all her strength, but she was pushed back. Pushed and pushed, she was driven all the way to the front of Marogo.
The breath of darkness was targeting the center of Marogo.
[Just a little more…!]
Tiris had no intention of leaving that place. Helby was the same. They struggled to buy even a second more time, risking their lives.
[This is all I can hold! If there’s even a slight gap, somehow…!]
Helby’s urgent voice rang out.
Hearing that, LifeHunter looked at the mermaids beneath the ship and said something. The mermaids nodded, dove deep, and moved the ship beneath the breath of darkness.
Kwaaaah!
A column of water shot up from under the ship. Riding the pillar of water, the ship soared upward, heading straight toward the breath of darkness.
LifeHunter took a deep drag from the cigar in his mouth, then gripped it in his hand. He looked at everyone aboard the ship.
“Good hunting.”
At LifeHunter’s final words, Jam-sik, the hunters, and the heroes gave faint smiles.
The moment the ship touched the breath of darkness, all the cannonballs on board exploded.
The breath of darkness was interrupted for just a brief moment.
[Well done!]
Helby blocked the breath with her body and twisted its path to the side.
Kwagagagaga!
The breath of darkness swept through the walls and inner city of Marogo. It narrowly missed the pillar of light and erased one-third of Marogo.
Whoooosh!
Helby’s body, wrapped in smoke, fell toward Marogo.
The face she held in one hand disappeared. But there was still one more face in the other hand. The breath of darkness from that face now extended beyond Marogo, aiming for the center of Solis.
It tore through Arsilan’s land in an instant and reached the front of the fortress gate. Jinwoo stood before it and pulled out a massive shield from subspace. It was a treasure of the Giant Tribe, given to him by their chief before being consumed by Erosion.
Kwaaaah!
The overwhelming force crashed into Jinwoo, slamming him down from the wall to the ground and pushing him back violently.
The breath of darkness extended in an attempt to destroy the pillar of light, driving Jinwoo backward as it pressed forward.
“Your Highness!”
Heina ran with all her strength and desperately grabbed hold of his body. But the two of them were helplessly pushed back.
Others rushed in too.
Tia, Baron Hasman, and Hallon held Jinwoo up with all their might, enduring the impact. The knights did the same.
The heroes became like moths to a flame.
“Uaaaah!”
“Fuck! Just block it with your body!”
“This is insane, but…!”
“That’s what makes it great!”
“Exactly!”
They cast spells or carried powerful forces like magic bombs and charged straight into the breath of darkness. The heroes behind formed a human barricade, supporting Jinwoo as he was pushed backward.
Kugugugk!
But they kept getting pushed back.
“For Arsilan!”
“For Sillion!”
The sight of hundreds of thousands of heroes in Solis hurling themselves toward the breath of darkness, this was something that could not be found in any game, nor in countless histories, records, or myths.
Something beyond belonging or camaraderie was powerfully binding the heroes together as one.
So hold out!
Jinwoo struggled to endure.
The overwhelming force piercing through the shield felt as though it would tear his body to shreds. The pain in his soul surged endlessly, eating away at his willpower.
He was pushed all the way to the base of the pillar of light, breaking through buildings and walls.
Chiiik!
The shield melted under the searing heat.
The breath of darkness raged wildly, pressing down on Jinwoo.
Shockwaves exploded outward, devastating the surroundings. All the allies who had been supporting him from behind were blasted away and rolled across the ground.
Jinwoo’s body was being destroyed, and even his soul was fracturing. Yet he could not retreat, not even a single final step.
‘It was fun.’
The Arsilan Saga.
It had truly been fun. He had been genuinely happy. He wanted to keep sharing this joy with the heroes. He wanted to show them how beautiful Arsilan was, all of it. That’s why, even if his soul were to vanish, he could never back down.
There were still festivals to enjoy together, events to unfold, and countless quests left to complete.
“Haha...!”
Jinwoo laughed.
When the shield had completely melted, he endured with his entire body.
[Analysis..., completed!]
Tiris’s voice reached him faintly through his fading consciousness.
He had been waiting for those words!
Jinwoo’s eyes became sharp and clear.
The final piece of deciphered information from Marogo poured into him. The Magic Power from Solis, the Magic Tower, and everything gathered until now converged within his body.
Jinwoo reached out toward the breath of darkness. The breath that had been advancing to destroy the center of Solis and erase everything stopped in front of him. A golden magic circle shimmered into existence before the breath of darkness.
“From Arsilan…”
With immense Magic Power, he clenched his fist.
“Begone!”
As he struck the magic circle with his fist, golden currents reversed along the breath of darkness and surged back. From Solis, through Marogo, they raced all the way to the Gate of Invasion.
Kwagagagaga!
A massive explosion erupted from the Gate of Invasion, and a portion of the enormous gate collapsed in devastation.
Transcendent authority.
All the powers once meant for the Magic Barrier were now held within his body.
The time for holding out was over.
Now begins the counterattack!
Now we will take everything from you.
