The Ruined World Was Mistaken for a Game-Chapter 91: Comfortable Expedition Team (2)

Translator: Dreamscribe
The Comfortable Expedition Team, having accepted RomanticBard as a companion, inevitably fell behind the fleet ahead. It was because from the moment RomanticBard boarded the ship, he sang without rest, immersed in emotion.
When the sound of RomanticBard’s singing was carried to the fleet by the sandstorm, the fleet panicked and increased its speed. It was a fleet that had easily overcome countless mummy soldiers and sandstorms. However, because of one RomanticBard, they nearly collided and sank.
Since they already knew the coordinates of the destination anyway, they slowed the ship and created some distance.
“It’s so comfortable and nice.”
Everyone nodded at Haebyul’s words. The expressions of the expedition team, wrapped in the Blessing of Light buff, were more relaxed than ever. No matter how much RomanticBard sang, it could not be heard by the ears of the expedition team.
And with even the mummy soldiers not approaching, the expedition journey had no choice but to be peaceful.
“That was a masterpiece.”
“It’s really good.”
“Please sing more!”
Clap clap clap!
The Heroes applauded and cheered on RomanticBard.
-You shameless bastards!
-Just because they’re not affected, they immediately praise him.
-But if everyone’s happy, isn’t that a good thing?
In a way, it was a shameless display, but since even RomanticBard was smiling brightly with joy, it was a happy ending for everyone.
“Thank you! Haha! Then the next song is ‘Milky Dawn’. I will perform it right away.”
RomanticBard poured out every song he had composed until now. It seemed he had composed over hundreds of pieces. His passion was truly remarkable. That passion alone was something worth praising.
Jinwoo looked toward the stern of the ship. HandGenius was making something there, and it was quite interesting. Jinwoo approached him.
“You made it well.”
“Haha, I had some materials, so I just made it.”
It was a small performance stage.
He even quickly created a loudspeaker on the spot with the help of a mage. RomanticBard, who went up onto the stage, once again shed hot tears.
Jinwoo fell into thought for a moment, then looked at him.
“With how you are now, RomanticBard-nim, I think you could create a truly amazing masterpiece.”
Everyone stared at Jinwoo in shock at his comment. Even the sound of swallowing saliva could be heard. The Heroes hurriedly opened their info windows and checked whether the Blessing of Light was still active. Since there was plenty of time left, they were finally able to breathe a sigh of relief.
Even the Heroes became curious.
They wondered just how far RomanticBard could go.
“Y-Yes! RomanticBard-nim’s ability surely doesn’t end here.”
This is truly broadcast-worthy!
Haebyul said this with a poker face. Then, the Heroes who met each other’s eyes also began to join in one by one.
RomanticBard’s eyes trembled intensely, and then he fell to his knees. It seemed he was so shocked, it was as if he had been struck by lightning.
“I-I see now. I’ve been complacent with reality. I’ve gained precious companions, yet I’ve been singing the same songs as before! This is an unforgivable act of betrayal as a musician of Arsilan!"
Hmm..., maybe not quite that much.
The Heroes exchanged awkward glances.
“Y-Yeah.”
“RomanticBard-nim, you will surely create a great masterpiece.”
“Cheer up!”
The Heroes joined the cheering line.
RomanticBard stood up and nodded with a solemn expression.
UruBear, who had been watching the situation, wondered if this was really okay.
“...Fighting!”
UruBear had no choice but to join in the end.
-Is this really okay?
-What have you done!
-This feels serious.
-Wow... but I’m curious now.
Right then, RomanticBard pulled out a notebook and began composing with overwhelming energy. He didn’t play an instrument or compose while performing. RomanticBard was a genius. He immediately wrote down every melody that came to mind, turning them into sheet music.
Just from that sight, he truly looked like a musician blessed by the heavens.
RomanticBard thus devoted quite a long time to composing.
“It’s finished! The masterpiece of my lifetime!”
Jinwoo nodded. As RomanticBard stepped onto the stage and tried to sing, Jinwoo stopped him briefly.
“I think we need more of an audience.”
Jinwoo looked at the Heroes.
“Is there anyone good at drawing aggro?”
At Jinwoo’s words, everyone looked at UruBear. UruBear was a well-known tanker renowned for drawing aggro. Jinwoo grinned and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“UruBear-nim, get ready.”
UruBear didn’t quite understand what he was supposed to prepare for, but he nodded anyway.
The ship of the Comfortable Expedition Team veered off the route toward the shared coordinates. Once the fleet ahead was no longer in sight, UruBear, now fully geared, disembarked from the ship.
After hearing Jinwoo’s explanation, UruBear’s expression filled with unease.
“Comfortable-nim, are you sure this is okay?”
UruBear looked at Jinwoo, who was still on the ship, and asked. If he died here, he would be resurrected back in Arsilan. There was a Hero’s Flower at the oasis, but getting there was actually farther away.
“Yes, begin.”
“Understood.”
UruBear took a deep breath and raised his shield. He struck the shield forcefully and shouted out.
“You fucking bastard that crawled out of an asshole!”
UruBear used his aggro-drawing skill while spewing insults. He thought he was cursing at the soldiers, but that wasn’t the case. Jinwoo properly translated and conveyed it so that the Lord of Greed could understand.
UruBear’s barrage of fierce profanity continued.
-Aggro skill works better when you curse while activating it.
-ㅋㅋㅋㅋ they definitely can’t ignore that.
-As expected of a named tanker, such filthy insults.
Jinwoo waited for a response.
All high-ranking beings of Erosion were arrogant and prideful. So what about the Lord of Greed, who aspired to become a god?
‘He’s here.’
The desert sands began to tremble. The Lord of Greed used vast authority to create a multitude of mummy soldiers. HandGenius fired another flare to illuminate the surroundings.
“That’s a lot.”
"He really seems pissed off?"
“As expected of UruBear-nim!”
There were so many that the surroundings looked completely dark. They swarmed from all directions as if to bury the ship entirely.
“U-Uwahhh!”
UruBear hurriedly scrambled back onto the ship.
As the mummy soldiers approached the ship, Jinwoo looked at RomanticBard and cast a sacred technique. It was a mid-tier sacred technique that granted luck and increased stats.
When Jinwoo gave the signal, RomanticBard smiled brightly and opened his mouth.
“Now presenting my new song! The title is ‘Romance’!”
The new song, which RomanticBard had poured all his strength into, echoed through the dark desert. His voice, amplified through the speaker, grew even louder and enveloped the surroundings.
Freeze!
The advancing mummy soldiers came to a halt.
Shudder!
Their bodies trembled violently, and then their heads exploded. A mummy soldier far off in the distance raised a rusty sword and sliced its own neck.
[B-] Song of Romance
‘His romance is a catastrophe that sweeps over all.’
A masterpiece created by a genius debuffer with utmost dedication.
Grants enemies chances of instant death, suicide, confusion, and paralysis. The chances vary depending on the passion of the singer, performance, and equipment setup.
However, note that it may also cause immediate side effects for allies such as mental derangement, hallucinations, visual distortion, and vomiting.
Jinwoo’s sacred technique maximized the debuff effect.
The sight of mummy soldiers densely filling the area vanishing brought immense satisfaction to the Heroes.
It was a B- rank.
RomanticBard was more than qualified to advance to a second class. He himself didn’t seem to have any particular thoughts about it, though. Jinwoo had to focus to block the effects that pierced through the C-rank Blessing of Light.
-Wow... that was refreshing.
-That’s the power of a tactical nuke.
-Hey, what the hell did you guys create?
-Why learn magic? Just sing.
-Something that should never have come into the world has now appeared.
The Heroes shivered.
As countless mummy soldiers died, a huge wave of experience points poured in.
“Kyaah! I leveled up!”
Haebyul shouted with joy. All the Heroes here were high-level, over level 60. In Arsilan, leveling up even once required a full week of hunting. But now, with just a single ‘click’, they had leveled up!
“Damn! As expected of our RomanticBard-nim!”
“Never underestimate RomanticBard again.”
“Anyone who opposes RomanticBard-nim is the enemy of our expedition team!”
The Heroes rushed to RomanticBard and gave him enthusiastic cheers. Moved by their support, RomanticBard sang even more passionately.
It was safe to say it was a heartwarming virtuous cycle.
UruBear looked at Jinwoo with sparkling eyes.
“Comfortable-nim! Should I do it again?”
Jinwoo smiled kindly.
“Let’s take it easy and just level up slowly.”
At Jinwoo’s words, the smiles of the Heroes deepened.
It was truly a stroke of luck to have joined this expedition team in search of romance.
-Wow, seriously overpowered.
-Sacred techniques, debuffs, magic. A true trinity ㅋㅋ
-Click! Level up! Crazy ㅋㅋㅋ
-Please let me join the expedition team! I’ll do all the chores, I swear!
-RomanticBard! You’re a hero of Arsilan!
The Comfortable Expedition Team’s ship continued sailing slowly toward the shared coordinates. When the Heroes drew aggro and deployed RomanticBard, experience points flooded in rapidly.
The Heroes only needed to deal with the soldiers who were not affected by the debuff.
Days of sailing went by.
After repeating it several times, at some point, no more soldiers appeared. It seemed the Lord of Greed, having consumed a vast amount of authority, had finally given up.
“They’re not coming anymore.”
“Yeah. Would’ve been nice if they’d pushed a bit harder.”
Haebyul and UruBear expressed regret. Everyone had gained four levels, bringing the expedition team’s average level to 66. It was truly a comfortable leveling process.
They crossed the desert and arrived at the shared coordinates. Only traces of ruins remained; the fleet was nowhere to be found. HandGenius tried contacting the fleet side.
“They went up north. I got the coordinates and a map.”
Surprisingly, the fleet willingly shared their location. They even went so far as to send over a map.
“Huh? It’s from the Luxury Expedition Team?”
“What’s gotten into them, sharing so much detail?”
“Those guys usually don’t do this kind of thing.”
It was possible to guess their location by watching their broadcast anyway, but it was truly unexpected for them to share coordinates and even draw a map. Especially since the Luxury Expedition Team was notoriously secretive, to the point of banning Arsilan Worlds access during expeditions.
The Heroes looked at HandGenius with curious expressions.
“It’s simple. It’s the logic of power.”
“The logic of power?”
As the Heroes tilted their heads, HandGenius grinned and pointed at RomanticBard.
“Once I told them we’d be following them around for the rest of the expedition, they suddenly became really polite.”
“Ah…”
A genius at threats!
From the Luxury Expedition Team’s perspective, it was an absolutely terrifying threat. The Heroes immediately understood.
The Comfortable Expedition Team’s ship began moving again. As they approached the area shared by the Luxury Expedition Team, the edge of the desert came into view. Since the ship could only travel on sand, it had to stop there.
“Oh, ooh!”
“This is amazing.”
“Holy crap… the content never stops.”
The Heroes marveled at the scenery at the edge of the desert.
A massive hole, vast lands stretching beyond sight, and magnificent cities.
It was fantasy incarnate.
Dozens of ships were anchored.
The expedition teams had already finished looting around the hole.
A hole connected to the Lord of Greed.
There were several such holes in the vast lands of the Empire of Evil. Around each of these holes, many territories were clustered, and they were feeding their greed with the treasures and minerals drawn from them.
“We came too late.”
“Looks like everything’s been cleaned up.”
The expedition teams had joined forces to wipe out all the soldiers around the hole and had taken control of the wagons filled with ore and treasure. The cheers of Heroes, full of joy, echoed around.
“Let’s disembark and go.”
At Jinwoo’s words, everyone disembarked from the ship and approached the hole.
The expedition leaders from each team were distributing the treasure. Though there was a good amount of treasure, once divided among many expedition teams, the individual share wasn’t much.
As Jinwoo approached, the expedition leaders flinched. To be exact, they were startled by the sight of RomanticBard beaming brightly behind Jinwoo.
“You must be Comfortable-nim, the leader of the Comfortable Expedition Team, right?”
“Yes, what is it?”
“This is a gift from our expedition leader.”
They placed a treasure chest in front of Jinwoo. The leader of the Luxury Expedition Team smiled at Jinwoo and bowed his head.
Other expedition teams also handed over small shares of treasure.
“Oh! Free treasure!”
“Damn!”
“We didn’t do anything... This is really comfortable!”
The Heroes of the Comfortable Expedition Team couldn’t help but feel great, getting treasure without doing anything.
Haebyul nodded.
“Looks like they watched our stream.”
RomanticBard was now being treated like a ticking nuclear bomb. And Jinwoo was the one holding the trigger, so this was a display of goodwill.
Jinwoo approached the expedition leaders and joined their meeting.
“Treasure’s coming out from inside that hole?”
“Our scout says it looks like a labyrinth.”
“Hmm...”
Jinwoo carefully looked into the hole.
To prevent the Heroes from reaching the bottom, the Lord of Greed had used an immense amount of authority to make the interior complicated. It was turning into a vast underground labyrinth.
‘Oh! New content...’
The Lord of Greed had the makings of a great game developer!
[You have discovered the Greed’s Underground Labyrinth!]
*The name of the first expedition team to discover it will be recorded.
*Invasion Contribution Points +100
Though a little late, the system window popped up for Jinwoo.
“Wow! A labyrinth!”
“Seriously, Creator God-nim! You hid something like this?”
The Heroes were delighted.
The expedition leaders continued their meeting.
“Let’s loot that city first?”
“That seems like the safest option.”
The consensus was that it would be best to establish a domain here and explore the labyrinth. To do that, they needed to loot treasure and earn invasion points.
They had to buy a Occupation Monument.
The expedition leaders looked at the ones bound in front of the hole. There were hundreds of them. Those who once used slaves, merchants, and even lower-ranking nobles. Among them, a man who appeared to be of the highest rank was glancing nervously at the Heroes and begging.
The NorthernGrandDuke approached him. The man, still bound, lowered his head and pleaded with her.
“I-I’ll do anything, please... Sh-should I lick your feet? I’ll show you the humble tricks of my tongue.”
The NorthernGrandDuke looked down at him and grinned.
“For Arsilan!”
With that cry, she kicked him in the body.
“U-uaaagh!”
The man fell straight into the hole. Watching him fall, the NorthernGrandDuke turned her back.
That was the signal.
The Heroes approached the bound captives.
“For Arsilan!”
“For the Kingdom of Sillion!”
They swung weapons or kicked them, pushing them all into the hole. Hundreds of them screamed as they fell.
-A Hero doesn’t take hostages. Only kills them.
-This is what a Hero of Arsilan looks like!
-No compromise!
Even Jinwoo found it exhilarating. Those who fell into the hole would be consumed and turned into slaves, no different from falling into hell.
“Enemy forces approaching!”
“There’s a lot of them!”
At the Heroes’ s, the expedition leaders nodded and gave orders. Dozens of anchored ships turned sideways and aimed their cannons.
Boom boom boom boom!
The cannon fire burst out and swept away the incoming forces.
“Hell yeah!”
“That’s firepower!”
“The EXP is amazing!”
The Heroes cheered as the enemy was blown to pieces.
The cannons had become even more powerful than during the Great War.
“Kuh! I know a song that goes perfectly with this scene...”
“Hold it in for now.”
“Yes! I’ll do my best to hold it in!”
At Jinwoo’s command, RomanticBard immediately complied.
RomanticBard saw Jinwoo as his benefactor and respected him. Since he had been allowed to sing freely before, he could hold back for a while.
After a few rounds of bombardment, a group of people dressed in luxurious clothing approached from the nearby city. They appeared to be city officials. The knights escorting them held black banners that seemed to symbolize their domain.
The NorthernGrandDuke, LifeHunter, and the other expedition leaders stood before them. Jinwoo also approached.
“Ahem! Unknown invaders, listen well! I am Kumel Drens, aide to Count Jayron du Balac. The sacred land you have trespassed upon is a sanctuary granted directly by the god to His Majesty the Emperor! Count Jayron du Balac oversees this sanctuary, enriching the Eastern Noble Union and the Empire!”
Kumel, the aide to Count Jayron, personally came out and shouted those words. A mage stood beside him and cast a translation spell.
“Oh, it’s translating the voice?”
“Damn! FS Games’ tech is the best in the world!”
“They made even the translation tech into a show!”
Thanks to that, the Heroes could roughly understand what Kumel was saying. A filter was in place for the Heroes, so they couldn’t learn anything that might disrupt the core of Arsilan Saga.
“The Count wishes to avoid unnecessary loss on both sides. Invaders, what is it that you seek?”
“A whole lot of treasure.”
The NorthernGrandDuke replied shortly.
When Kumel put his hands behind his back and gestured toward Jinwoo and the expedition leaders, the knights brought forth treasure-filled chests and set them down in front of them.
“Then take these and withdraw.”
Jinwoo and the expedition leaders exchanged glances.
They didn’t need to say anything to understand one another.
“That’s a bit little, no?”
When KimLuxury, the leader of the Luxury Expedition Team, said that, Kumel frowned and gestured again toward the knights. They brought out a few more chests.
“Are you satisfied now?”
“Excellent.”
KimLuxury nodded, and Kumel lifted his chin again.
“Withdraw before the day is over! If not, the Count himself will lead his army to subjugate you! Remember this! The Eastern Noble Union is watching you!”
Kumel and the knights returned to the city.
“That Count guy doesn’t know a thing about war. Maybe there’s something going on internally?”
“Maybe so. Not that we need to understand it.”
In response to KimLuxury’s words, LifeHunter replied with a ferocious grin.
At LifeHunter’s signal, his fleet fired cannonballs toward the city.
Boom! Boom!
The shells hit the castle gates and walls, exploding in a grand display.
The city fell into chaos at the sudden bombardment. Kumel rushed back with the knights.
“You gave your word!”
“That was them.”
LifeHunter pointed behind him, where part of a large fleet was withdrawing.
It was the Luxury Expedition Team’s fleet.
“We want our share too.”
“...Fine. Let’s draft a contract.”
It was a contract sworn in the name of a god. It stated they would never invade this land again, and if they did, they would be cursed by the god.
In this place, such a contract held absolute power.
Once LifeHunter signed it, Kumel nodded.
As the knights began to place down treasure chests and turned to leave, the NorthernGrandDuke stepped forward. Other expedition leaders also lined up.
“What about ours?”
“......”
Kumel’s face flushed red as if about to explode. He was seething with rage, but seeing the dozens of ships, he barely managed to suppress it.
At Kumel’s command, the knights brought more treasure chests from the city.
Jinwoo was the last to sign.
“Thanks!”
“We’ll use it well!”
“The hearts of the people here are generous!”
“To think you’d even give us gifts! Thank you so much!”
“Kumel-ssi is adorable!”
The Heroes made a racket as they bid farewell to Kumel.
“...Fucking savages! Ptoo!”
Kumel glared at the Heroes, spat on the ground, and returned to the city.
Jinwoo turned and looked at the expedition leaders.
“As you know, there’s no need to keep promises with heretics.”
With a deep smile, Jinwoo tore the contract. No such contract could bind a Hero.
The guardian deity of the Heroes was here.
Even if any restriction was placed, Jinwoo would protect them. The other expedition leaders also smiled broadly and tore their contracts.
“Let’s pretend to withdraw and then launch a surprise attack at night.”
At Jinwoo’s suggestion, all the expedition leaders nodded immediately in agreement.
Backstabbing!
This was going to be insanely fun!
The Heroes clenched their fists tightly upon hearing Jinwoo’s plan.
-Damn! That’s so evil.
-Those guys over there kinda give off noble, honorable vibes...
-We’re the good guys, or... well, who cares as long as it’s fun.
-ㅋㅋㅋ for real
-Just enjoy it!
And so, the barbaric night arrived.
