The next three days, until the beasts arrived, passed like any other for Blanc.
After waking up and spending some time with his wives, they went to have breakfast. Following breakfast came rigorous training.
Swordsmanship, bowmanship, hand-to-hand combat, flexibility, and footwork.
Next came the most important training for Blanc, something that in the not-so-distant past, he wasn’t able to properly focus on. His Marks. From trying to understand the full extent of his Marks, seeing if other Marks had hidden perks just like the wolverine, to making sure that his body was properly using the benefits the Marks gave him.
He made sure to go through each one of his Marks, fully focused on every single one of them, feeling around physically, then mentally.
There were many gains, and just as many disappointments. Whenever he did not understand something, he looked through Blood Maroux’s library, hoping to find an answer. But most of the time, an answer never came.
It was frustrating to see how lacking the current understanding of Raw Vita really was.
So, due to a lack of time, he focused on what he could achieve and kept on training until lunch.
After a quick lunch that he usually had either with his wives or alone, a gap in activities arose. And such, in the last few days, he made sure to either spend time with his Blood and family, or talk to Lucien about everything that was to come.
Lucien also took this opportunity to teach Blanc many things that might come in handy during his journey. Negotiation tactics, intel gathering, psychology, geography, and advanced human anatomy, just in case.
Blanc was grateful for the lengths his Father-in-Law was going through to ensure he was as prepared as possible, with each lesson given, making Blanc a bit more certain of his success.
Especially since, at random times during their conversations, Lucien would give out a piece of unknown information about Blood Seraph, which, if used properly, would ensure another small advantage during negotiation.
Next came dinner, a time to relax and enjoy a talk with all present, with the small exception of Sophie, Velakia, and her protectors, who kept their distance.
It was starting to get frustrating for Blanc.

Luckily, Celine and Miyanna noticed, both promising to try to at least talk some sense to Sophie, who stared from a distance even during dinner, but refused to exchange a single word with Blanc.
As for Velakia and her protectors, there was nothing anyone could do, as they kept mostly to themselves, keeping both their power and cultural differences to themselves. All Blanc could hope for was that, once they started their journey, he would be able to get close to them.
Not because he cared, but because he would feel safer that way since, at this moment, the three of them were to him as big a threat as the Iron Line was.
And as long as they remained in the Empire, their presence remained a threat, one that couldn’t be removed unless the Empire secured some gains of its own in return.
But since Lucien had already confirmed their combat prowess, Blanc chose to swallow any complaints and turn his attention to other matters for the time being.
After dinner came his favorite part of the day.
Spending time with his wives, talking, bathing, joking, and playing around, making it the climax of Blanc’s day.
That and the usual fun they had at night.
But because the doctors forbade them from having normal… nightly activities, they had fun discovering other ways to do it, safer ways that would not affect Celine and Miyanna’s pregnancies now that the earlier stages of their pregnancies were nearing their end.
And they enjoyed every second of it, as many of them resulted in failures that sent them laughing naked for minutes, before they tried something else.
Although it was different, the few things that they managed to do and enjoy became the new norm they kept at daily, making sure to keep at it until their bodies gave out, making sure that they all got their fill of it before Blanc took his leave.
Even though such drastic actions made it difficult for Celine and Miyanna to walk properly in the mornings, and barely able to speak at night, since their jaws were hurting.
Blanc was a victim of that as well, as he became deeply focused on making sure he did as much for them as possible, servicing his wives in all the ways the two of them wished to, with his mouth or otherwise.
But… that was also why Blanc found himself staring at the ceiling in the middle of the night, his wives sleeping next to him, as he scratched the pain away from his jaw.
He was certain that, as things stood, his marriage was perhaps one of the happiest in the whole continent. But, despite that happiness and that pleasure they got used to, he was not smiling now, as he got word during dinner that the beasts would get to them by morning.
Meaning that by the afternoon, after harvesting all the beasts, saying goodbyes to his loved ones, and grabbing his things, this new journey of his, to rescue his sister and rid the Empire of the princess of Iskahul, would begin.
A journey Blanc wished for, but one that he also feared.
A journey Blanc dreamed of, but one that haunted his nightmares.
A journey Blanc couldn’t wait to embark on, but couldn’t wait to return from as well.
Yet all, even his mothers, now trusted his decision, despite still not agreeing to it. They had to trust him as they had before, when they had to run away from the mansion into the unknown that was the Golden Forest.
The only difference was that he was now leaving willingly into the unknown that was the wide world. A more dangerous place, filled with the worst kinds of beasts out there.
Humankind, its dualities, and the hatred many of them had for their own kind.
