Chapter 471

Chapter 471: Chapter 420 Please Behave Yourself
Zhuo Yuqing, although still on vacation, had to chase news relevant to their profession, even if she had just returned from City A.
"I’ll pack up and meet you at the airport right away."
She had yet to unpack her suitcase from yesterday’s return, so now she didn’t need to repack.
After taking a shower, Bai Chengxi noticed Zhuo Yuqing was already wearing her overcoat, which caused him to pause while drying his hair: "Going out?"
"There’s some news, I need to go back to City A."
"What news requires you to go there now, you’ve just returned from City A." Bai Chengxi was distressed by her constant back and forth.
Zhuo Yuqing had long been accustomed to the irregularities of her job and didn’t find it burdensome.
"You still don’t know how our profession works? When there’s news, you have to chase it." "I’ll be back as soon as possible."
Bai Chengxi hadn’t responded yet when Zhuo Yuqing’s phone rang again, and she quickly answered it.
"Yuqing, no need to go to City A anymore, I heard that Su Yingluo has been transferred to Aus City, I’m coming to pick you up now." Liu Lian was hasty, and hung up after speaking.
Zhuo Yuqing hardly had time to ask which hospital it was before hearing the beeping sound. She sighed, Liu Lian, always hanging up before the conversation was finished.
"I’m not going to City A anymore." After Zhuo Yuqing spoke, she saw Bai Chengxi’s previously tense face soften, and she lightly shook his sleeve, "I’ll be going out with Liu Lian in a bit, I won’t be at home to keep you company."
Bai Chengxi nodded: "Okay, I also have things to handle today."
After Zhuo Yuqing left, Bai Chengxi received a call from his assistant: "Mr. Bai, Miss Su has just been transferred to Central Hospital, her assistant called me, asking if you know any familiar doctors at Central Hospital."
"Is she seriously injured?" Bai Chengxi looked out the window, seeing Zhuo Yuqing getting into the small sedan parked at the front of the villa, and recognized the girl with her. She often mentioned her, a colleague and good friend, possibly named Liu Lian.
"Her assistant didn’t say." After thinking a moment, the assistant gathered the courage to ask: "Mr. Bai, maybe I should go visit Miss Su on your behalf. After all, she’s been in an accident and is hospitalized, and the severity of her injuries is unknown. Miss Su has previously shown you kindness; morally speaking, it would be appropriate to pay her a visit so as not to provide others with the opportunity to criticize you. Moreover, Miss Su clearly directed this move towards you, and if left unresolved, it may intensify."
The assistant was wholeheartedly looking out for Bai Chengxi’s best interests. Bai Chengxi naturally understood; humans aren’t heartless creatures. His past emotional entanglements with Su Yingluo weren’t something that could simply be forgotten with the word. However, he absolutely would not personally intervene; the assistant was right, some matters, if not settled, might intensify indeed.
"Go and check the situation." Bai Chengxi withdrew his gaze from the window, "You don’t need to inform me about her matters anymore."
"Understood, Mr. Bai."

Actually, Su Yingluo wasn’t seriously injured; she fell from a wire close to the ground, merely spraining her ankle, but she told the crew it was a fracture.
After being admitted to the hospital, she immediately had her assistant inform Bai Chengxi of the news. She had thought this ploy would let her see Bai Chengxi immediately, but instead, he refused her calls and even returned to Aus City.
Unwilling to give up, Su Yingluo followed him back to Aus City.
After transferring to Central Hospital, Xiao Lan made another call to Bai Chengxi’s assistant, yet Bai Chengxi did not show up, leaving Su Yingluo feeling restless and impatient. After returning to China, she had tried almost everything, even shamelessly throwing herself at him, to no avail. Thus, she resorted to this desperate measure. She couldn’t believe that Bai Chengxi could remain indifferent when she was injured and hospitalized. In the past, even a small cut on her hand had him worried for a long time.
"Sister Luo, there are many ers outside." Xiao Lan opened the curtains and looked outside.
"Don’t let them in." Su Yingluo had lied to the entire crew this time; if
this matter became public knowledge, it would be difficult to handle later.
"I know, I’ve already had security stop them, don’t worry, Sister Luo." Xiao Lan glanced at her phone: "Sister Luo, Mr. Bai still isn’t answering the phone. Should I try calling him from a different number?"
"No need." Su Yingluo felt even more irritated. She was never one to cling and pester, but Bai Chengxi’s imperviousness frustrated her, "Let’s hold off for now."
