Chapter 476: Chapter 423 Emotions Need to Be Cultivated Slowly_2
"Guess what?" Xi Yang took a sip of his coffee, smiling as he looked at her.
"Didn’t you and Miss Mu date for three years? Are you really breaking up?" The photos clearly captured Xi Yang and Mu Yuan arguing, after which Xi Yang left Mu Yuan alone and walked away. Another photo showed Mu Yuan returning to her apartment alone, without Xi Yang by her side.
The photos looked like he was announcing a breakup.
"Yes, there are no feelings left," Xi Yang said indifferently, as if speaking of something trivial, "Some people seem great on the surface, but as you spend more time with them, you realize that they’re far from the ideal person you had in mind, and conflicts keep escalating until you can no longer reconcile."
Having said that, Xi Yang’s deep gaze landed on Zhuo Yuqing, who was looking down at the photos with a look of deep surprise on her face. Her hair was black and smooth, loosely braided into two plaits, revealing a strikingly white scalp that was dazzling. Her slightly downturned eyes made her features appear more delicate and three-dimensional.
Xi Yang watched her intently for a while until Zhuo Yuqing lifted her head. They say it’s better to mend relationships than to encourage breakups; naturally, she hoped they could resolve their issues and get back together, rather than abruptly separating like this.
As she lifted her head, she caught Xi Yang’s gaze. She felt like there was something unusual about the way he looked at her, but soon after, Xi Yang returned to his previous detachment.
"Senior, are you really going to send this out? Once you do, there might be no turning back with Miss Mu." Zhuo Yuqing had heard many of Xi Yang and Mu Yuan’s romantic stories; they had always been seen as a model couple in the showbiz world. It was unexpected that beneath their glamorous appearances, there were numerous cracks.
"Let it out, we’ve already broken up, there’s nothing to fear," Xi Yang scoffed mockingly, "Also, one should look forward, it’s impossible to cling to someone you no longer love when you could find someone better."
Zhuo Yuqing’s curiosity was piqued: "Senior, do you already have someone you like?"
"Sort of."
"This is big news. If you’re going to announce your relationship, let me have the scoop," Zhuo Yuqing said jokingly, never expecting Xi Yang to agree so quickly: "Sure, you can announce this news when the time comes."
"Is the person you like from the entertainment industry?"
"Sort of half in the industry. Actually, I’ve had a crush on her since university, but meeting her again now, she has made an even better impression on me. I think she’s the girl I’ve been dreaming of," Xi Yang’s eyes softened warmly as he spoke. Already handsome, his warm gaze made him seem even more ethereal, like a figure from a painting, "I just haven’t confessed to her yet."
"When do you plan to confess?" Zhuo Yuqing seemed even more excited than he was.
"No rush, relationships should be cultivated slowly." Xi Yang was speaking when the Golden Tangerine Tea Zhuo Yuqing ordered was brought over. He took it from the waiter’s hands and placed it in front of her, opening a disposable straw and inserting it into the cup, casually mentioning, "You used to like drinking iced tangerine tea. I’m surprised you still do."
Zhuo Yuqing had just taken a sip through the straw when she heard this, and asked with some confusion, "Senior, how do you know I like Golden Tangerine Tea?"
Realizing his slip of the tongue, Xi Yang quickly changed the subject: "Isn’t this tangerine too sour?"
"It’s fine by itself in water, but it’s too much to eat on its own."
"Are you still going to the magazine office?"
"No, I’m heading home." Since she had agreed with Xi Yang to delete the photos and drafts, she decided to head home and rest, cherishing her rare time off.
"Then I’ll go first, you leave a bit later." Xi Yang was still cautious; as a public figure, he had to be extra careful with every move.
"Okay." Zhuo Yuqing waved to him, "Goodbye, Senior."
"Let’s have a meal together sometime," Xi Yang nodded, put on his hat and mask, and then left after gearing up.
Zhuo Yuqing had nothing else to do, so she stayed and slowly enjoyed her Golden Tangerine Tea, looking at the few photos in her hand.
Compared to ing on incidents involving Su Yingluo, she preferred covering emotional issues.
As Zhuo Yuqing examined the photos, considering how to draft her article, her phone on the table rang. Seeing the caller ID, she couldn’t help but smile wryly; it was a name she had changed last night: Little White.
Bai Chengxi’s skin was very white, yet retained a vigorous fairness that matched perfectly. Zhuo Yuqing had once secretly compared her skin tone to his, only slightly brighter, which is why she changed his name in her contact list to "Little White."
"Not done with work yet?" There was a noisy clamor in the background of Bai Chengxi’s location.
"Was just about to head home," Zhuo Yuqing held her cup with one hand, "Where are you? It’s very noisy."
"At a dinner, I’ve had some drinks. Come pick me up later."
"I can’t drive."
"No worries, just take a cab." The noise on Bai Chengxi’s end grew louder, forcing him to raise his voice as he told her the hotel’s address.
Zhuo Yuqing simply acknowledged, and the call ended.
Bai Chengxi was dining with two producers today; everyone was good at drinking and talking, making it a lively meal. In the middle, one of the producers suggested inviting some familiar actors to join in the fun.
"Heard that Su Yingluo is back, why not invite her?"
After Bai Chengxi returned from making the call, one producer said, "Mr. Bai, are you interested in a collaboration with Orange Light? Together, you could dominate effortlessly."
Bai Chengxi politely smiled, not really responding.
He checked his watch. Zhuo Yuqing said she’d arrive in half an hour, yet he was already starting to feel anxious.
