The Scheming Ex-Husband's Courtship-Chapter 521 - 459 Luo Shangqing Volume

Chapter 521

Chapter 521: Chapter 459 Luo Shangqing Volume
Mu Chenxi overslept today, and by the time she arrived at the classroom, it was packed full. She glanced at a front-row seat, where a clueless-looking guy was flipping through a book.
Mu Chenxi walked over, dropped her bulky backpack onto his desk, and immediately slapped down fifty yuan: "Classmate, can I take this seat?"
The clueless guy glanced at her and was unimpressed, pushing the fifty yuan to the side: "I’m here to listen to the lecture too."
Mu Chenxi gritted her teeth and pulled out another ten yuan from her pocket: "Sixty, will that do?"
"Classmate, I’m here to attend class, not to sell my seat. Even if you offer me six hundred yuan, I won’t give it up," the clueless boy said seriously, his thick glasses nearly crushing his nose.
"Please, be a dear. This spot is really important to me." After silently cursing him a thousand times, Mu Chenxi put her hands together in prayer, "Handsome guy, pretty boy, fresh meat."
Despite her pleading, the other party remained unaffected, sitting calmly and unmoved.
Just then, as the class bell rang, a familiar figure was reflected on the glass door. Without a word, Mu Chenxi took a seat next to the guy and, with a forceful bump of her hip, squeezed him aside. The already small chair became even more cramped with two people on it.
"I’ll treat you to a meal someday." Mu Chenxi glanced at his books, "So your name is Li Xiaoming, huh?"
"Mhm."
"I’m Mu Chenxi, from Nursing Class Three." She wrote her name on his notebook, "Remember that."
Li Xiaoming obediently nodded twice: "Got it."
The moment Mu Chenxi looked up again, there was already someone on the podium. Her previously stern face instantly turned into an infatuated one.
Today, Luo Shangqing wore a white shirt, with sleeves rolled up two folds, revealing his toned forearms. His hands were naturally slender, fitting for a pianist.
She adored how he looked holding chalk, guessing he must work out often.
"Let’s start the class." Luo Shangqing clipped the microphone to his shirt, his calm gaze sweeping over the sea of students below, his voice velvety and smooth. He glanced at the roll call list at hand, closed it, and tossed it aside, "As usual, no roll call today."
Luo Shangqing’s classes never required roll call because the seats were always full, even attracting students from other majors to grab spots, often leading to enrolled students unable to find a seat.
For example...
Luo Shangqing paused in flipping through the book, glancing at Mu Chenxi and Li Xiaoming sharing a seat in the front row. The guy was almost squatting, looking quite uncomfortable.
He slightly furrowed his handsome eyebrows but continued without further notice, opening his teaching plan: "Today we’ll talk about the basics of anatomy."
Luo Shangqing was not one to often smile. Most of the time he was serious, but in this appearance-focused world, just him standing on the podium was enough for those below.
Even though he wasn’t prone to smiling, his lectures were engaging and immersive. Initially drawn by his looks, the class would soon be captivated by the subject matter, enjoying the experience of his eloquent delivery from the podium.
The only person in the entire classroom who couldn’t absorb a single word was probably Mu Chenxi. She kept staring at his face, then at his figure, and when he moved closer...
This was the reason she liked to sit in the front row. Luo Shangqing had a habit of stepping away from the podium to stand and teach casually leaning on the first row every once in a while.
"This student, please answer my question."
Mu Chenxi was still in her daydream when her desk was suddenly tapped twice by a well-defined finger. She looked up abruptly to meet Luo Shangqing’s indifferent gaze.
"Me?" Mu Chenxi pointed at herself.
"Yes, please answer," Luo Shangqing repeated.
As Mu Chenxi slowly stood up, her attention had been solely on Luo Shangqing moving in front of her, oblivious to his lecture content and the question he asked.
What to do, what to do, she had no clue at all.
The whole classroom watched as she scratched her head in despair, her face burning with embarrassment, wishing she could crawl under the desk.
Just as Mu Chenxi was utterly at a loss, Li Xiaoming, who was almost squeezed onto the floor by her, quietly drew a line under a specific line of text in the book.
Mu Chenxi’s studies were mediocre, but she had a special talent: she was quick-witted and sharp-eyed. She had gotten through the high math she hated most with the help of her keen eyes.
Li Xiaoming’s subtle little movements did not escape her notice, and Mu Chenxi confidently answered, "Apart from the capillaries, the walls of the vessels from the lumen outward consist of three layers: the intima, the media, and the adventitia."
Luo Shangqing glanced at her and asked in an unhurried tone, "What is the media composed of?"
Mu Chenxi blinked. Hey, something is off here. Why is there a question within a question? With no other choice, she once again cast a pleading look towards Li Xiaoming.
"No need to look. This page doesn’t have it." Luo Shangqing frowned, tapped the desk again with his long fingers, and said, "Sit down."
After speaking, he returned to the lectern, one hand in his pocket, casually flipping through a book as he said, "Continue."
Sitting there, Mu Chenxi’s face felt burning hot, but it wasn’t because of the embarrassment of getting the question wrong. It was because when she had stood up, she was only ten centimeters away from Professor Luo. She clearly saw his fair skin, the lively Adam’s apple, and his snow-white teeth slightly showing when he spoke.
"Sorry about that." Li Xiaoming looked apologetic, "I also didn’t find the question the professor asked."
Mu Chenxi came back to her senses and raised an eyebrow, "It’s fine."
Whether or not she answered the question correctly was secondary. What mattered was that she again had zero distance with her male idol.
Before the end of the class, Luo Shangqing assigned a topic, and everyone was busy writing down answers in their notebooks. Mu Chenxi waited until Li Xiaoming had finished writing and then copied his work directly.
As the music signaling the end of class played, Luo Shangqing walked over to Mu Chenxi’s desk and knocked on it, "Collect the answers and bring them to my office."
"Huh?" Mu Chenxi blinked twice, and by then Luo Shangqing had already picked up his book and left the classroom with his vigorous stride.
Seeing her dazed, Li Xiaoming couldn’t help but cough lightly, "The professor asked you to collect the answers."
"Oh, oh." Mu Chenxi exclaimed twice, then suddenly realized. If she was to collect the answers and send them to his office, didn’t that mean she would get a chance to be alone with Professor Luo?
Mu Chenxi felt as if she’d been hit by a pie falling from the sky, and her whole being felt incredibly light.
While collecting the homework, she hummed a tune proudly, urging the students, "Hurry up, hurry up."
"Professor Luo is so handsome, why doesn’t he become a celebrity? He would outshine all those fresh meat and dried meat celebrities. Just looking at his face makes me not want to study." A female classmate sighed with a lovesick face.
"I’ve heard Professor Luo is the eldest son of the Luo Family; they’re so rich and ranked among the six major families in Aus City, yet he chose to be a teacher and stand at the lectern every day. I don’t understand what he’s thinking."
"What do you know, that’s called being capricious with wealth, following his heart’s desires. You really think he’s going to teach forever? Sooner or later, he’ll return to the Luo Family to take over the family business."
As Mu Chenxi overheard everyone’s discussion, her ears stood alert, but seeing their drooling expressions about Professor Luo, she immediately acted disdainful.
These people only focused on looks and not substance; they were simply too superficial.
After collecting all the homework, Mu Chenxi cheerfully scurried to Luo Shangqing’s office.
As expected of a distinguished American-educated talent specially recruited by the medical college, even his office was an independent room. Compared to other teachers’ cramped shared offices, this place was a haven of tranquility.
Mu Chenxi knocked on the door, and a clear, pleasant male voice came from inside: "Come in."
"Put them there." Luo Shangqing picked up a cup of water from his desk and took a sip.
His office wasn’t big, but it was exceptionally clean, with several pots of green plants on the windowsill – flowers and grasses not known to Mu Chenxi, yet in her eyes, they were like towering trees bathed in sunlight.
When Luo Shangqing finished speaking, he took an extra glance at the young girl in front of him, who hadn’t moved, and his delicate eyebrows betrayed a hint of puzzlement.
Mu Chenxi was still basking in her "intimate moment" with her idol. Feeling the inquisitive gaze, she promptly corrected her demeanor and hastily placed the workbooks down: "Professor Luo, all collected."
"Hmm," Luo Shangqing said as he rolled up his sleeves and sat down, taking the top homework to correct. After making a few marks, he suddenly said, "Though I don’t oppose dating in college, next time don’t bring your boyfriend to the classroom to attend together."
Mu Chenxi was slow to understand what Luo Shangqing meant; he had seen her sitting with Li Xiaoming in one chair and mistook them for a couple.
What a huge misunderstanding.
