Chapter 539: Chapter 474: Stay at My Place_2
What exactly is the relationship between Professor Luo and this young girl? Are they dating, or are they relatives? Or is it something else?
If they are dating, Professor Luo’s taste might be a bit too much. This child looks like she is only seventeen or eighteen years old.
After Luo Shangqing left, Mu Chenxi sat still for a while, but soon her stomach started growling. She glanced at the men’s wallet placed in front of her and, unable to resist her hunger, she tucked the wallet into her coat pocket. She then locked Kong Tai in the bathroom before leaving the office.
There are many snack shops around the hospital. Mu Chenxi used to play here often as a child and is very familiar with the layout of this area. She entered a fast-food restaurant, ordered two dishes and a serving of rice from the self-service area. When it came time to pay, she took out Luo Shangqing’s wallet from her pocket, a brand she recognized as always being among the top names in the world, soft leather and exquisite workmanship, all reflecting its costly value.
Mu Chenxi opened the wallet, finding not too much cash inside, just over a thousand yuan. There were two cards in the slots, one of which was a black card, which is said to be so exclusive that each bank offers it to only three customers.
As Mu Chenxi used his wallet and spent his money, even though she felt slightly guilty, she also felt a closeness to him. She had been engrossed in a TV show recently where the male protagonist hands his card to the female protagonist in a very cool way, just like Xinyu often says, loving someone means giving them your card.
Mu Chenxi happily paid, found a table, and the ordinary meal in front of her tasted like a feast.
After eating, Mu Chenxi went to a nearby supermarket to buy cat food for Kong Tai. Next to it was a small craft store where Mu Chenxi wandered out of boredom. In the corner of the shop, she discovered a pen holder located among some miscellaneous items, looking as if it were discarded.
Mu Chenxi fell in love with the pen holder at first glance. It was made of blue and white porcelain, looking particularly clear and simple, perfectly matching Luo Shangqing’s character.
"Boss, how much for this pen holder?" Mu Chenxi lifted the item in her hand.
The boss, watching a variety show on the computer, glanced over and stretched out five fingers.
Mu Chenxi asked, "Fifty?"
"Five yuan, take it." The boss still stared at the computer: "I found it in my dad’s study and just put it here, it’s been two years and no one has asked about it, I was just thinking about throwing it away."
"I’ll take it, I’ll take it," Mu Chenxi, feeling like she found a treasure, quickly handed over five yuan to the boss, "Boss, please give me a plastic bag too."

After finishing surgery, Luo Shangqing took a shower and changed into clean clothes before returning to his office, where Mu Chenxi was sitting in his chair holding an academic magazine he had been reading before.
Luo Shangqing felt relieved, thinking Mu Chenxi was being studious, though he thought she would be taking a big sleep.
When Luo Shangqing approached, he immediately retracted the praise about to slip from his lips because although Mu Chenxi was holding an academic book, she was actually reading a joke inserted in the book to relieve stress.
"Haha, this is really interesting." Mu Chenxi, unaware of Luo Shangqing’s arrival, continued to search for jokes in the book until she heard a light cough and quickly placed the book back in its original spot.
"Professor Luo." Mu Chenxi chuckled awkwardly towards him: "Is the surgery done?"
"Hmm." Luo Shangqing glanced at her indifferently, his mind silently commenting: Not ambitious!
"Let’s go." Luo Shangqing took his coat from the rack.
Mu Chenxi immediately jumped out of the chair, holding Kong Tai as she followed him: "Professor Luo, could you drop me off at my apartment complex? I’ll be staying with Aunt Zhang tonight."
Luo Shangqing didn’t comment, heading straight to the parking lot: "Get in the car."
Under Luo Shangqing’s roof, Mu Chenxi had no choice but to bow her head. With Luo Shangqing keeping silent, she didn’t dare to say much and obediently got into the back of the car.
The night’s opulence enveloped Aus City, neon lights outside the window illuminating the deep night.
Mu Chenxi just dozed off, and when she opened her eyes again, the car had already turned into a high-end residential area, a name she had often seen on TV written on the stone wall at the entrance.
Mu Chenxi rubbed her eyes vigorously; Luo Shangqing’s car had driven through the gate, the barrier automatically lifted, and the security guard respectfully greeted him: "Professor Luo."
Luo Shangqing nodded and slowly drove the car inside.
Only after getting out of the car did Mu Chenxi realize she had followed Luo Shangqing to his private apartment, in one of the top affluent communities of Aus City.
"Professor Luo." Mu Chenxi’s feet seemed rooted to the ground, unable to move. Didn’t she say she was going back to her own home?
Luo Shangqing, already out of the car, seeing the girl standing beside the car somewhat awkwardly, spoke very calmly: "Your neighbor’s aunt is old and can’t handle the disturbance of young people. I have surgeries these days and am rarely home, so you can stay here temporarily."
Mu Chenxi was initially surprised then increasingly nervous. Was it really appropriate for her to stay here? What if his girlfriend found out, would it cause a misunderstanding?
While Mu Chenxi was still wrestling with this idea, Kong Tai in her arms suddenly leaped out, swaggeringly following behind Luo Shangqing.
Mu Chenxi cursed under her breath at the disloyal creature and hurried after him: "Kong Tai, if you keep running around, see if I don’t send you to a barbecue restaurant."
Luo Shangqing turned around with some interest and asked her, "Send to a barbecue restaurant? What does that mean?"
"Professor Luo, don’t you know? Many roadside barbecue shops now use meat from dead cats and rats..."
Luo Shangqing quickly put his hand over her mouth to stop her from continuing. Otherwise, he would have to give up lamb kebabs for the rest of his life.
