Chapter 563

Chapter 563: Chapter 493: Who Decides for Her
Handsome to a whole new level?
After Mu Chenxi left, Luo Shangqing silently repeated the words to himself and couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. He grabbed his phone and took a look at the reflective screen.
"Professor Luo, there’s a meeting later, don’t forget," a colleague knocked and reminded him.
"Thank you," Luo Shangqing put down his phone, and his thoughts drifted to the child’s reddened eyes. Perhaps she thought she had hidden it well, but sadness sometimes can’t be concealed by a smile, and some grievances may only be visible to those who understand her.
After the meeting, Luo Shangqing had to rush back to write an experimental , so he quickened his pace.
Right in front of him, several teachers were walking, blocking the path - it seemed they had just come out of a meeting as well.
One of the female teachers said, "Teacher Qu really stood out this time, her PCR experiment that she had been working on was not only successful, but has also been published in a journal."
"I heard she completed it with a student, and that student is the top scholar of their department."
When Luo Shangqing heard the words PCR, his pace slowed down. The teachers also saw him, greeted him with a smile, and stepped aside to let him pass, "Professor Luo."
Luo Shangqing nodded with a smile, said nothing, and quickly walked away.
Luo Shangqing did not return to his office, instead, he went straight to the reading room, where the teacher in charge was distributing the newly arrived documents.
"Professor Luo, are you looking for materials?" the teacher asked enthusiastically.
"Could you help me find the new medical journals that have just arrived?" Luo Shangqing rested his arm on the table, glancing over the mountain of documents on the floor, "Thank you."
"No trouble at all," the teacher immediately crouched down to search and quickly handed over three journals, "Professor Luo, these are the new arrivals, see if they’re what you’re looking for."
"Thank you very much." Luo Shangqing took the materials and started flipping through them on the sofa. When he came across one of the journals, he suddenly saw two familiar names in a prominent position, one was Teacher Qu from the school, and the other was Qiao Tong, a student he had once taught. The title and content of the paper were all too familiar to him - it was the PCR cultivation experiment that Mu Chenxi had been working on.
In a moment, Luo Shangqing seemed to understand everything. He snapped the journal shut, stood up abruptly. Perhaps it was the tense expression on his face that looked rather cold and frightened the teacher who had been sneaking glances at him, causing her to startle and quickly ask, "Professor Luo, is there something wrong?"
Luo Shangqing then came back to his senses and gave her an apologetic smile, "Nothing, thank you."

Mu Chenxi caught a cold, sneezing and blowing her nose non-stop, and two days of cold medicine had not brought any improvement.
"Mu Chenxi, please go get a shot, if you keep this up, you’ll pass it on to all of us," Quan Jin grumbled as he tossed her a box of cold medicine, "If you can’t afford the injection fee, I’ll give you the money."
Mu Chenxi grabbed a tissue to blow her nose, muttering discontently, "Are you even a med student, wanting to get a shot for such a minor illness?"
Mu Chenxi grabbed her cup and gulped down a substantial amount of water, "You need to drink more water, understand?"
"Understand my ass," Quan Jin opened the window, "You pathogen, try to come back to the dorm less, got it?"
As the two were fooling around, Susu walked in with a bag of snacks. Seeing Quan Jin there, she seemed a tad embarrassed, but quickly reverted to her normal demeanor, "Chenxi, I’ve brought your favorite chips and sour plums."
"Really? Big sis, you’re the best," Mu Chenxi lunged at the snack bag without any hesitation, tore open a bag of chips, and stuffed two into her mouth before saying, "Big sis, you’re the roundworm in my stomach; you know exactly what I want to eat."
Susu laughed and said, "I didn’t buy them; Qi Hao did. He asked me what you liked to eat, and I said chips, so he bought a whole bunch of them, all sorts of flavors."
When Mu Chenxi heard Qi Hao’s name, she paused in her eating.
Quan Jin let out a cold laugh on the side, "A fox extending New Year’s greetings to a chicken..."
Mu Chenxi hastily pinched her, smiled awkwardly toward Susu, and said, "Please thank Qi Hao for me."
Just as Susu was about to speak, Quan Jin sneered from the side, "Thinking a few bags of chips can alleviate your guilt, that’s really cheap."
"Delicious." Mu Chenxi stuffed a handful of chips into Quan Jin’s mouth: "Barbecue flavor, my favorite."
Quan Jin spat the chips directly into the trash can and left the dormitory without looking back, "This stuff has a fishy taste, I’m not used to it."
Watching Quan Jin leave, Susu said apologetically, "Fourth, I’m sorry."
"Why say all this, don’t be mad at little Quan. That’s just her temperament."
Susu fiddled with the hem of her clothes, "Qi Hao has explained to me, he swore to heaven, that he absolutely did not plagiarize your thesis. He said if you don’t believe him, he can swear a deadly oath."
Seeing Susu so eager to clear Qi Hao of suspicion, Mu Chenxi suddenly felt a bit panicky.
"Boss, now you believe everything Qi Hao says, have you never asked him about Qiao Tong? I believe Quan Jin would not lie."
Her issues can be set aside for the moment; after all, nobody is perfect. Even if his character is flawed, if Susu doesn’t mind, what can others do? But if Qi Hao is really still entangled with Qiao Tong, she simply can’t just sit idly by.
"I asked him." Susu said, "He told me that Qiao Tong approached him on her own initiative that time, she encountered a very tricky matter and wanted his help, but he rejected her on the spot. He didn’t expect Qiao Tong to suddenly hug him, telling him she wanted to get back with him, but he refused."
"Boss, don’t blame Quan Jin for her harsh words. Sometimes, her words are the hard truth. Now, whatever Qi Hao says or does, you think it’s right. Do you still remember your own dream? The first day of school, also our first meeting, you confidently told me that you applied to the medical school to help build up medical services in your hometown because your grandmother died due to backward medical conditions. And now, Qi Hao’s dreams have become your dreams. The words you said back then must have become a joke, right?" Mu Chenxi sighed, "I’m not against you two being in love, but don’t forget your original intentions and don’t become an unquestioning puppet. That way, you’ll lose all initiative in this relationship, and in the end, the one who suffers will only be yourself." Mu Chenxi held Susu’s hand, her words were heartfelt, and her voice was tinged with a nascent sourness, "Boss, I want to see you happy, truly happy, not living in a fantasy. Think about it, are you really feeling happy being with Qi Hao?"
"Fourth, I understand all the reasons you’ve mentioned, but I just like him, to the point that losing him means losing all direction. That’s why I’m so compliant, I’m afraid he’ll get angry and leave me. I know I’m pitiful, but, Fourth, I love him. Is it wrong to change oneself for the one you love?" Susu’s gaze showed an unwavering determination, "As long as he is truly good to me, I don’t mind making some sacrifices. In the future, the person I’ll spend my life with is worth my efforts now."
Hearing Susu speak like this, what more could Mu Chenxi say? She hoped Susu could find her happiness and also hoped that Qi Hao was the one who could give it to her. She had given her warning, and she had given her advice. As to what Susu planned to do in the future, she was powerless to intervene.

The principal’s office.
It was the time between classes, and people were gradually leaving the teaching building. Luo Shangqing stood by the window and immediately saw the girl with a ponytail and a backpack.
She ran down the steps, three at a time, chasing after her roommates, a group of girls laughed and romped together.
Seeing her smiling face, Luo Shangqing found it hard to link her with the recent incident. She was still so cheerful, as if all the troubles in the world could be solved with her smile.
Her hard work did not escape his attention. She had transformed from an underachiever who loafed around all day into an ambitious and diligent good student. The process of transformation must have been full of hardship and pain, but still, she spread her wings with a smile, reflecting a kaleidoscope of light under the sun.
"Little Luo, been waiting long?" The principal walked in hurriedly. Seeing Luo Shangqing standing by the window, he smiled and said, "That’s why we have endless meetings. Come, have a seat."
Luo Shangqing shifted his gaze and spoke indifferently, "No thanks."
He rarely visited the principal, so the latter felt that Luo Shangqing must have a very important matter, and immediately asked with a serious face, "What’s the matter, Little Luo?"
Luo Shangqing was a distinguished appointee of the school. Not to mention his glittering resume and qualifications, the prestige alone of the Luo Family was enough for the principal to treasure him.
"Principal, in my many years involved in medical research, the one thing I cannot tolerate is plagiarism." Luo Shangqing spoke with conviction, "I believe, the principal shares my view that such behavior can never be allowed to occur."
"Yes, indeed, plagiarism is disgraceful. Someone else’s hard-earned achievements are stolen, such behavior violates the bottom line of ethics and is unacceptable." The principal said before asking, "Who has plagiarized your work?"
"One of my students wrote a paper on PCR that was plagiarized by another student and an advising teacher from the same department, and it was even published in a journal. I heard they are planned to be interviewed by the magazine." Luo Shangqing, thinking of the child who suffered in silence without uttering a word of complaint, felt a surge of sympathy. If he didn’t stand up for her, who else would champion her cause?
