The Slime Doesn't Die from Mana Transfer-Chapter 50 : Main Storyline

Chapter 50

Seeing Clayman suddenly appear at the guild entrance, Russell had no illusions. He only told Rozelite:
“Looks like we won’t be able to just walk away that easily.”
Rozelite didn’t panic either.
Though it hadn’t been long, after living alongside Mr. Slime day and night, she was no longer the little princess who used to burst into tears at the slightest trouble.
“Miss Rozelite.”
Clayman walked forward with his hands clasped behind his back, smiling.
“It’s been a few days. Seems you’ve recovered quite well—already promoted to D-rank adventurer.”
“Yes. Thanks to the care of the guild and the church, my injuries are almost completely healed,” Rozelite replied crisply.
“Then, regarding your memories, have you recalled anything?”
Clayman pressed on.
Both Russell and Rozelite could feel it.
The man had not come with good intentions.
“Sir Clayman, may I ask, have I broken any laws?”
Rozelite tilted her head.
“You haven’t broken the law. However… you should understand that this is the frontier. People of unknown identity should not exist here. As captain of the guard appointed by the city lord, I consider it my duty to verify your identity, and conduct a simple inspection to ensure you aren’t carrying anything that might threaten border security.”
Clayman’s smile was smooth and flawless.
Even those in the guild who had felt some dissatisfaction just moments ago now nodded slightly.
Maintaining border order was something everyone agreed upon.
And more than that, although Clayman was a noble, he was known to handle affairs impartially and had never made things difficult for others.
But Rozelite absolutely could not comply.
Inspection?
How?
Mr. Slime was still inside her body.
If they discovered she was hiding him in her stomach…
Forget what would happen to her, Mr. Slime would definitely be placed in a dangerous situation.
She fell silent.
It had come too suddenly.
Russell had anticipated something like this, but even so, when it happened, it caught them off guard.
They had planned to leave today…
“Don’t worry, Miss Rozelite. You only need to come with me to the garrison for a simple inspection. I won’t make things hard for you. I guarantee it on the honor of the Alexander family,” Clayman said with a smile.
“No, I…”
Rozelite bit her lip.
She drew in a deep breath, her tone turning serious.
“Alright. In fact, my memory has already returned.”
“Oh? And? Who are you then?”
Clayman’s smile didn’t falter.
“Rozelite Othinus.”
Rozelite placed a hand against her chest, facing him squarely.
“I am… the Seventh Princess of the Rhine Kingdom, Rozelite Othinus.”
“—!”
The words dropped like a bomb.
The guild hall wasn’t large, but the impact left many stunned speechless.
Most people didn’t have much concept of the title Seventh Princess, but royalty was royalty—higher even than nobles, the ruling class of the kingdom itself! An existence before whom even aristocrats would bow with reverence.
Why would such a figure suddenly appear in a border city?
A bad premonition spread among the adventurers. Some even tried to quietly slip out of the guild… but quickly realized the entire building had already been surrounded. Hundreds of guards sealed every exit, their spears gleaming coldly—they clearly had no intention of letting anyone leave.
“Just now… you claimed to be the Seventh Princess?”
Clayman’s voice dropped, the smile vanishing completely, leaving only an icy stare.
“I didn’t mishear.”
“Yes. I am the Seventh Princess, Rozelite Othinus.”
Rozelite spoke firmly.
She could not allow her body to be inspected—nor could she let Mr. Slime be exposed.
This was the only path left.
Meeting his gaze without flinching, she declared:
“You can use any means to verify with my father and my brothers. As soon as they know I’m here, they will certainly send someone to retrieve me!”
“Is that so? Heh…”
Clayman nodded slightly, still smiling.
Then he abruptly raised his hand and shouted:
“All soldiers, hear my command! This criminal dares impersonate the noble Seventh Princess, defiling royal blood—an unforgivable crime! Seize her at once, throw her into the dungeon, and await trial!”
“Yes, sir!!”
At once, the guards inside the guild turned their weapons.
Cold spearpoints gleamed with deadly light, all aimed at the isolated Rozelite, whose face went pale in an instant.
“Wh-what…”
Sweat poured down her forehead.
“What are you all… saying?”
“Take her!”
Two armored guards lunged forward, their huge hands seizing her shoulders with crushing force, as if to slam her directly onto the ground.
【Mana Reinforcement lv4】
“Wait!!”
With shock and fury, Rozelite erupted in power, breaking free from their grip. Her voice trembled with both anger and fear.
“I really am the Seventh Princess! What proof do you have that I’m an impostor? Aren’t you afraid my father and brothers will punish you for this outrage?!”
“Proof? Heh…”
Clayman’s face twisted into a cold sneer.
“Thief, did you think I’d arrest you without evidence? I already had the city lord send a flying message to the capital. The reply has arrived—the true Seventh Princess attended her coming-of-age ceremony two months ago, and since then has remained in the palace, never once leaving!”
The words struck Rozelite like lightning. She froze where she stood.
Clayman pressed harder.
“You claim to be the Seventh Princess? Then tell me, how did you come from the capital to this frontier? Why were you alone in the depths of the Dieppe Forest?”
“I was… kidnapped by bandits…”
“Bandits? Ridiculous!”
Clayman barked, his face full of scorn.
“You expect me to believe mere bandits could break into the royal palace, abduct a living princess under the eyes of countless servants and guards, and leave no trace? Are you mocking my intelligence, or insulting the capital’s defenses?!”
“Tell me this! If the one in the palace is a fake, then who is she?! And if she is real, then who are you?!”
“I-I don’t know… I really don’t know…”
Rozelite’s voice trembled.
She stumbled back two steps, bumping against the guild’s counter with a dull
thud
.
“In that case, there’s nothing left to say.”
Clayman waved his hand lightly.
“Guards, seize her at once and await trial!”
At his command, the guards surged toward her again.
But this time, Rozelite didn’t resist. She simply stood there blankly as the cold hands clamped onto her arms.
Her mind was in chaos. She hung her head, frozen in place, not knowing what to do.
The rope slipped over her body.
And then—at the very instant it touched her skin—
Crackle—!
Violent silver-white lightning burst forth like a thunder beast breaking free of its chains.
With Rozelite’s body as the center, a blinding explosion of electricity tore through the dark hall. A dazzling barrier of pure lightning flared into being!
【Expulsion Lightning lv5】
“Arghhh—!!”
Several guards who had lunged at her were blasted away before they could even scream, hurled into the walls like rag dolls.
The acrid stench of scorched air filled the room. Jagged black scorch marks spread across the floor in wild arcs.
Magic?!
Clayman’s brows knit tight, his hand gripping his sword.
Rozelite—
No. More accurately—Russell.
He slowly raised his head.
“What a troublesome child.”
Without effort, he seized control of her body. His gaze locked on Clayman, whose face wavered between shock and suspicion, and he sighed helplessly.
“Can’t you just let us leave peacefully…?”
