The Stargazing Witch & The Dungeon Planet-Chapter 172: The Faux vs The Real

Chapter 172: The Faux vs The Real
Crashing into the bastard like a shooting star, our energies clashed. My sparkling fire and light against the black and silver radiating aura. His mana immediately tried to devour mine with no avail; my energy was simply beyond this world.
“So, are you the leader of this merry band of absolute fucks?” I joked, but I couldn’t hide the venom that spat out from my words. My hatred was so clear as day that a toddler could see it across a country. “What an ugly bastard."
“What are you?” His voice croaked and hissed like an old machine. Not sure what they came from, but so be it.
“Sounds ugly as well.” I tore at the mental tentacles with my flaming arms as blades of black mana stabbed towards me from all directions, which forced me to jump back to dodge. Those things I knew would break through my weak shielding. “But to answer your question… hmm… What is the most cliché thing I could say?”
“A hero?” He openly mocked my attempt to be funny. Black blades of many flew towards me again, and large hulks emerged in the surrounding area, flooding the space with their presence. Each one was twice the size of the ones created earlier, and their durability certainly had gone up, but the power within them felt the same.
I pointed at the fake. “I am a star, and no, I won’t be granting your wishes. Your dream will never be real, no matter how many stars you have wished upon.”
Espr would be giving me shit for that, haha.
There was still no sign of their return, but that wouldn’t impact this fight. The only thing I needed to do was cleanse this vermin from the face of existence.
The light around my body hardened as I released more energy, and the flames flew off my body as my physical form appeared somewhat vague.
Everywhere else, the fighting had begun ramping up as the wave that stunned many of the assault force made for a prime opportunity to strike.
I was sure there were many dying; I could see the attacks happen on the poor few who were struck down during the moment of his arrival. I had completely ignored the possibility of some sort of attack like that happening; even when I felt the man's energy, it simply had no effect on me.
I was angry at myself for letting that happen, even if it was just in simple terms, the act of him simply breathing.
My fires latched onto the ground and began spreading across the whole area, creating a massive scorching area that, with my magic, weakened the effects of his mana on the world around us. It should be enough that the people worse off could adapt to the effect it had on them.
That didn’t stop the passive power-up that was empowering the cyborgs, but I did know a solution to that problem.
Killing the bastard.
“I’m not sure where you came from, and while your earlier performance was impressive, you have no backup by your side this time.”
“Oh, you watched that show? Congrats, I hope it was entertaining.” I felt various debuffs that were pulling me to the ground and that tried to manipulate the mana within me to cause damage, but all of them failed, as I was completely unaffected by them. My storm of fire-crafted weapons clashed against the enormous tentacles that attacked from the throne. “You don’t seem too angry, so you ain’t likely the fucker who built that stupid thing. By the stars, who makes something that massive?”
His mana infected the earth, and I watched large metal spikes emerge, the land being transformed into them, all around us, ready to attack me and whatever other people decided to drop by.
I crafted two large battle axes of Starlight, which I gripped tightly, and numerous arrows appeared behind my back. The fire on my body flared even greater in response to my emotions. My form nearly looked like a flaming demon with shiny antlers. What a confusing sight for my opponent. My physical form was still visible underneath the fire for moments, but as a testament to how thick the energy was, it was only for brief moments.
The two of us danced as I chopped through his reforming structures and he repeatedly fired waves of energy at me to push me back. My fire, which contained us in an arena, repeatedly fired flaming spikes to attack him, but he was managing to predict and counter when they appeared.
Bloody bastard.
Getting close to him was hard. He kept pushing me back with barriers and force pushes, not to mention all the things he was summoning. On top of the hulks and tentacles that were emerging from the ground, there were other drone things and large metal beating walls that were trying to stop me.
The hulks weren’t tough for me to deal with, but their number could be dangerous, and I didn’t know if he had any other tricks he could do with them. If they exploded and created massive bombs, that could be dangerous, for instance, and it was much safer not to risk that by destroying them first.
My arrows flew around like wasps, penetrating into the disgusting machines. The [Starlight Arrows] I had created and left on drone duty were made with a good chunk of energy each and were much more durable than normal. Each carried a heat that helped them melt and deal with any extra defences.
Metal melted on the fire as the two forces clashed on the planet’s surface. The whole area became the spotlight conflict for the whole event.
I could see many eyes on my battlefield from both sides. Many were trying to decide if they would rush in to assist. From the idiot's side, they were more hesitant, as their new overlord of the universe had just broken through the barrier of humanity so of course, he wouldn’t need assistance with one
normal
person, and on the opposite side, they were either looking for an opportunity, dealing with the person they were already fighting or were trying to control their fear.
Nearly everyone was preoccupied; that was expected, but I figured I would be receiving a bombardment in my direction relatively soon.
Looks like people are preparing.
I didn’t have to fight this man alone, but I could at least bring him down to a more manageable level for everyone else.
My axe chopped through the flopping tentacle, and I jumped through the back wall of mana, sending out an explosion from my back to push me through the force that tried to fling me away.
He panicked as my axe morphed into a spear that launched towards his body. Simultaneously, I felt the almost magnetic force strengthen and send me flying back.
Bloody stars, whatever magic that is keeping me away is a pain.
My Starlight weapon cut into his side, causing cracks in his arm and waves of red and black fluid to fly out. It was hard to call it blood amore, but the wound grew inside. However, as his flesh broke apart, it was immediately repaired with the black metal mana. “You can do nothing! I am immortal!”
“Sure you are.” I rolled my eyes. His ego and confidence hadn’t eaten away at his combat ability to make the correct decisions, which made my initial assault frustrating. I planned for a physical onslaught first, as that was more efficient for me, and controlling constructs around him might make them unstable faster.
His body looked like the perfect weakness, despite how strongly it might be reinforced; all that more power was still flowing into an imperfect form. So if I could destroy that form, then killing him would be easy, but it was tough to exactly say about a being who was trying to cross over to the realm of a Spiritual Being–even I didn’t know everything, being basically a baby Spiritual Being.
However, my plan hadn’t come to fruition. His ability kept me back more than I imagined, and all I got off was a simple scratch. Mana was flowing into his body at a much faster rate than mine, not to mention his current reservoirs were already bigger than what I currently had in my body.
His mechanical ritual had completely flooded his body and throne with energy from the void.
I need to rethink my plan.
“It is time to show you what a god is capable of.” The leader's energy concentrated in his body as I felt waves of it begin to spread out.
I commented. “Note to self, ego skyrockets when on an ugly throne. Good to know. Avoid that for the future.”
His energy extinguished my fire that was on the ground. This made way for people on both sides to join in on the conflict.
I sent a soul-pressure message to all the assault-felt combatants who were closing in on our fight.
“Don’t touch the metal from his throne! It has a high likelihood of certain death.”
No one was weirded out by the message being in their head–
strange skill, keep moving–
but I hoped that they listened to it properly.
