Chapter 515

Chapter 515: Chapter 515: The man lowers his face, nowhere to hide
Ignatius Leclair opened his eyes, but no matter how much he tried hypnosis, he couldn’t recall what happened afterward. His memory had a gap of three months since Delphine left the Southeast Asia region. Those three months were likely their sweet romantic period, yet for some unknown reason, he had driven her away, triggering a series of events that followed.
The man’s handsome face revealed a hint of softness, followed by a faintly bitter smile. With his temperament, since he had decided to claim the young girl he had been caring for, he intended to regard her seriously as his little girlfriend, waiting to marry her once she came of age.
Ignatius gazed deeply, sending off Dr. Wen, and then asked Maximilian, "Six years ago, when I called you back, did I mention a reason for it?"
Maximilian was somewhat puzzled and replied, "At the time, Master Leclair suddenly flew into a rage for an unknown reason and ordered Second Master to leave the Southeast Asia region. Without Second Master’s presence, you summoned me and Sixth Master back. It was actually Second Master who first notified me to return."
Ignatius’s thin lips tightened, contemplating. So it was Arthur White who recalled Fifth Master. But recalling Fifth Master was one thing; why did he also summon Sixth Master? What was Arthur White worried about?
"Master Leclair, why not ask Second Master yourself?" Maximilian cautiously suggested.
The matters of the past were likely only Second Master’s understanding.
Ignatius remained silent, yet somewhere deep inside, there was a voice telling him not to summon Second Master unless absolutely necessary. These things were probably Second Master’s handiwork; if he had wanted to confess, he would’ve done so long ago—there was no need to wait until now.
"Has the psychologist in Holland been located?"
"The most recent card transaction was in the Middle East. Once he uses his card or there’s an aviation record again, we’ll be able to pinpoint his location," Maximilian replied. "Earlier, Fourth Master sent word that Beatrice Carter’s condition isn’t too severe. After the surgery, there’s a fifty percent chance she will regain consciousness."
Ignatius was slightly surprised—Beatrice Carter truly was fortunate.
"Have Fourth Master perform the surgery," Ignatius said coldly, his phoenix-shaped eyes narrowing slightly. "Stone Leclair is getting promoted to Imperial City—how could he not take his wife along?"
When Ignatius returned to the old-style villa, Delphine was nestled on the living room sofa, asleep. Mrs. Li was gently massaging her swollen legs.
The man walked over quietly, motioning for Mrs. Li to rest so that he could take over the massage. Delphine’s belly was larger than most. She was naturally slender, and even after months of care, she had only gained a little weight. By the time the child reached seven or eight months, her feet had become so swollen she could hardly walk. Consequently, Ignatius often massaged her legs for her. Seeing her struggle this much, the man sometimes entertained thoughts of not wanting the child.
Once this child was born, he would undergo a vasectomy.
Delphine slept soundly and serenely in her dream. Perhaps because the baby was further along, she was often awakened at night by the little ones kicking her. The two tiny beings in her belly—whether greeting her or playing—frequently made their presence known.
In her dream, she saw two little ones—a boy and a girl—chubby and pink, crawling around her, babbling in baby talk, begging to be held.
She picked up the brother, and the sister began crying. She picked up the sister, and the brother was displeased.
Delphine woke up laughing, and as she opened her eyes, she met the man’s deep, ink-black phoenix-shaped ones.
Ignatius hadn’t seen her smile in a long while. As he massaged her, he noticed the two small dimples at the corners of her lips. It reminded him of how adorable she used to be in her youth. For a moment, he was utterly captivated, leaning down to kiss those delicate little dimples.
Delphine saw his handsome face drawing closer, with no escape in sight, and she lightly closed her eyes.
