Chapter 523: Chapter 523 Perhaps One Day Li Shao Will Regret It
"Who gave you the gall, hmm?" Ignatius Leclair was furious, his handsome brows and eyes seemingly frosted over as he coldly asked. If Arthur White hadn’t recklessly brought Delphine Carter back to the South Seas, how could he have become involuntarily influenced by his second personality, leading to all these subsequent actions?
"Years ago, Young Master Magnus violated the agreement and suppressed you for two years. Even if you were hypnotized to forget the past, it couldn’t completely erase Young Master Magnus’s influence on your personality. All of this stems from Delphine." Arthur White stated expressionlessly, "Only by bringing Delphine back and going through this ordeal can Master Ignatius truly become Master Ignatius."
And he could return to the South Seas from his exile in the United Kingdom, once again serving as Master Ignatius’s shadow.
Ignatius Leclair’s expression shifted unpredictably. Arthur White’s methods were extreme but undeniably effective. Yet now, Delphine refused to divorce, and he had two children—these were all the results of his own unilateral decisions.
"If you ever dare to make decisions behind my back again, you’ll go straight back to where you came from." Ignatius snapped angrily.
Arthur White quietly endured the anger before responding, "Miss Delphine has an extremely stubborn character, but she’s deeply loyal. There aren’t many people she cares about in this world, but those few can be effective chains on her."
Ignatius cast him a cold glance and, after a long moment of indifference, said, "Didn’t I tell Magnus to acquire some of the assets offloaded by Cloudmist? Go ahead and deploy them. As for Leah Squire, leave her alone—Old Xie would explode. Doesn’t she still have some agency friends and director acquaintances in the industry? Push them all, and make her sign the divorce agreement as soon as possible."
Arthur lowered his gaze, remaining silent for a moment before saying, "Master Ignatius, are you really planning to not keep Delphine by your side?"
Delphine was inherently defiant to the point of fierceness. With this move, their relationship would likely plummet to absolute zero. If one day Master Ignatius regrets this, there would be no turning back.
Last year, one of the reasons he worked to bring Delphine back was that, over the years, whether as Magnus or as Ignatius, the only woman by Master Ignatius’s side had been Delphine. Even after forgetting that part of the past, Master Ignatius had chosen to remain single for five years. He merely wanted to test Delphine’s significance.
As the saying goes, "The perplexed are those involved, the clear-eyed are outside observers." Perhaps one day Master Ignatius might regret this.
Arthur said nothing more about it. Considering the current circumstances, it was better for the two of them to separate for a while and calm down.
"Go handle it." Ignatius ordered coldly, as that woman’s pale, bloodless, delicate face flashed through his mind. She was still too weak. He didn’t like weaklings.
Arthur responded briefly before silently retreating.
With Arthur’s return, most of the think tank had gathered back in the South Seas. Old Four, who had been observing Ignatius’s condition for a month alongside the bearded man, saw that he was stable and excitedly ran off to resume his research.
Old Three, Brock Gray, returned to Vancouver as usual, while Maximilian stayed on. However, most of the matters were handled by Arthur, making things easier than before.
Three days later, Delphine received a call from Ireland informing her that Cloudmist was suspected of privately selling counterfeit artifacts. Currently, they had been detained, and due to the astronomical scale of the case, they might face sentencing. Formerly close actors, directors, and agents of hers had all been blacklisted, sinking into life’s nadir. Even the Delphine Studio team had disbanded.
For the first time, Delphine felt her life had truly entered the coldest depths of winter.
