Chapter 562

Chapter 562: Chapter 562 Save Me
The alley was eerily deep and narrow, barely wide enough for three or four people to walk side by side. A few streetlights flickered on and off, casting weak illumination.
Walking into this area, Ignatius Leclair could already guess that Benjamin and the Demon King Hun of the Howard Family had undoubtedly colluded again.
The last time, the little girl had also sneaked off quietly and ended up in this courtyard within the alley. Ignatius squinted his sharp, phoenix-like eyes, determined to see just how good the place Benjamin eagerly fled to really was.
"Ignatius, this is the address," Maximilian took out a flashlight, inspecting the courtyard here.
The door to the courtyard was ajar. With a grim face, Ignatius pushed the door open and walked inside.
After being threatened by the man, Delphine only momentarily froze in shock before quickly regaining her composure. Looking at the supposedly dignified yet repulsive man before her, her face turned icy cold. Without a word, she hurled the wooden basin in her hands at him and turned to run out of the courtyard.
The man was struck head-on by the basin, cursed under his breath, and sprinted after her in a few strides. He grabbed her arm and spat, "You shameless wench!"
Delphine felt a wrenching pain shoot through her arm as if it had been dislocated. Without turning her head, she swiveled around and delivered a fierce kick to his vulnerable area. Then she continued to run. As long as the man followed her out of the courtyard, Nicholas and Benjamin would remain unharmed, and she would still have time to call the police.
Cold sweat covered Delphine as she sensed the man chasing closer. She sprinted desperately, only to crash directly into the arms of the man pushing the door open.
"Help me." She looked up, her face as pale as snow. But when she saw who it was, her voice died in her throat, and her whole body trembled uncontrollably.
Ignatius Leclair had just entered and saw a slender figure charging toward him.
The man instinctively took a step back, initially intending to push her away. But when he caught sight of her pale, exquisite face under the moonlight, devoid of any color, his heart was struck with an intense jolt. His large hands involuntarily steadied her and tightened slightly around her delicate waist, holding her softly in his arms.
Delphine was already too terrified to speak. On this night, first threatened by the landlord’s son and then encountering the sudden appearance of Ignatius, she trembled all over, teetering on the edge of despair.
Why was he here?
Mr. Zhao, having been injured by Delphine’s kick, was seething with rage, determined to make her suffer. He chased after her ferociously, only to see two tall men standing at the courtyard entrance. The one in front radiated an icy, murderous aura, his gaze as chilling as frost.
"Who are you? Trespassing? I’ll sue you!" Mr. Zhao bluffed, trying to appear confident.
Ignatius lowered his gaze to glance at Delphine, trembling all over and dressed in her soaked sleepwear. The thin cotton fabric clung to her body, revealing her alluring curves. Her expression was a mix of fear and panic, with bruises visible on her wrist. His dark, piercing eyes instantly turned icy, his face shadowed with cold fury.
"Maximilian," his voice was chilling to the bone.
Maximilian, still reeling from the shock of seeing Miss Delphine, snapped out of it at the call and the sight of Yeats Howard trailing behind to redeem himself. Yeats immediately sprang into action, kicking Mr. Zhao viciously as he shouted, "What kind of scum are you to threaten us? I’d like to see you try. Want me to lend you ten leopards’ courage?"
The Howard Family’s notorious reputation wasn’t for nothing. The heavy military boots struck hard, making Mr. Zhao cry out in anguish.
Maximilian quickly stepped forward, covered Mr. Zhao’s mouth, and dragged him into the alley.
