the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 605: Breeding in the Dark Night

Chapter 605

Chapter 605: Chapter 605: Breeding in the Dark Night
Ignatius Leclair was silent for a long time, then wordlessly picked her up.
The man’s arms, like walls of steel, confined her slender and frail figure, making her struggles futile.
Ignatius carried her to the bed, tucked her in, and when he saw her trying to rise, his long fingertips pressed against her collarbone. His phoenix-shaped eyes were as deep as the cold stars in the night sky, and he said in a low voice, "Sleep."
Delphine’s head touched the pillow. She turned her face away, avoiding his gaze, and at some unknown moment, she drifted off into a hazy sleep.
Ignatius waited until she was deeply asleep, then reached out to touch the dampness at the corner of her eye, tasted it lightly—it was slightly bitter.
The man leaned down, gazing at her pale and somewhat fragile little face. Lowering his head, he kissed her with a degree of restraint, finally calming the chaotic and complicated emotions swirling within him. He did not return to the private suite he’d booked. Instead, he sat on the edge of the bed, watching the two sleeping babies and the woman on the big bed. In the silent night, a trace of unspeakable desire emerged.
Even if he were duller, he couldn’t deny that his body craved this woman with an indescribable longing.
This pale, slender, indifferent woman—he wanted to break her apart, merge her into himself, only then would he be able to satisfy the parched restlessness within.
Ignatius sat in the dim light for a long time, until the sky began to pale. Only then did he rise and return to his own room.
The two little ones had come to visit the set but stayed only for two days before returning to the Imperial City.
Delphine worked ceaselessly for half a month, finally completing the scenes of her younger years. The remaining tasks involved filming in the Palestine-Israel Region and at Everest Base Camp.
Originally, there were supposed to be scenes in Motuo too, but the crew couldn’t make it there, so they abandoned those plans and opted to shoot in Lhasa instead.
Given the persistent turbulence in the Palestine-Israel Region, Delphine streamlined the team heading there. In Jerusalem, they filmed the Wailing Wall and a mosque, temporarily rented a local inn-turned-tavern, shot for a week, and then hurried back.
When they arrived in Lhasa, worried about the packed itinerary, she gave the crew two days off to rest, preventing exhaustion and potential altitude sickness.
Delphine herself went to the Grand Illumination Temple, where countless devout believers traveled across mountains and rivers to kneel three times and bow nine times, praying to escape the sufferings of this life in the next.
Delphine didn’t quite understand the faith of the Tibetan people. For her, this life existed, the next one did not; when life ends, it’s like a lamp extinguished—nothing remains. Her life had been a mixture of honey and arsenic. She used to think the first half of her life was filled only with hardship but later realized that the love she had when she was young had been real. It wasn’t deceit or betrayal—the man just couldn’t continue the journey with her.
In the years that followed, even with all hope extinguished, there were still two soft and adorable children by her side, healing her. She had friends and family too. Looking at it this way, she had no reason to abandon herself or return to the darkness.
At the entrance of the Grand Illumination Temple, Delphine watched the Colorful Banners flutter in the wind, the distant snowy mountains towering high, and revealed a smile weathered by life’s trials.
Not being a believer, she didn’t kneel or bow. Instead, she simply strolled along Octagon Street, letting the flow of people guide her forward. Many consider the Snowfield Plateau as a final place of redemption, just like Eva in the film. When Eva reached a dead end in life, she came here seeking salvation; after circling back and forth, she discovered that no one can save anyone else—only self-rescue is possible.
Delphine followed the crowd around Octagon Street, moving from the starting point to the end. There, a man waited for her for a long time, wearing sunglasses and a scarf. Standing under the fluttering Colorful Banners, he smiled quietly and said, "Finally, I’ve found you."
