Too Late to Love Her: When She Divorced, He Fell Apart-Chapter 11: Did You Touch Another Man?

Chapter 11

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Did You Touch Another Man?
"No need."
Tristan Lockwood obviously lost interest, didn’t leave a single word, and directly turned around to leave the venue.
Chelsea Walton saw his distant and cold demeanor, feeling particularly unsettled, scolded Lucy York again and then remembered the outsider Claire Hale was present, hurriedly apologized: "Attorney Hale, I’m really sorry you had to witness this today."
Claire didn’t care much, but Chelsea suddenly asked: "Do you know Dr. Lockwood?"
She replied indifferently: "Not well, why?"
Chelsea: "I noticed Dr. Lockwood was particularly quick in blocking the wine spill for you earlier, so I thought you two... were quite close."
Actually, Chelsea felt the friendship between these two might run deeper; Claire Hale was the first woman she saw that Tristan Lockwood would actively stand up to protect.
"I have no friendship with Dr. Lockwood," Claire distractedly denied, "He blocked the wine for me out of professional compulsion; doctors always possess the excellent quality of enjoying helping others."
That sounded a bit like nonsensical talk; not all doctors are good people.
However, since the person involved denied it, Chelsea felt embarrassed to probe further, but the topic still lingered on Tristan, she asked: "Dr. Lockwood shouldn’t have a girlfriend yet, right?"
Claire paused and looked at her calmly.
Chelsea: "You saw it too, my daughter really likes Dr. Lockwood, so I want to find out, after all, Dr. Lockwood is so outstanding and comes from a good family, it’s hard to imagine he’d be lacking in girlfriends. I’m worried Lucy might do something to ruin someone else’s relationship."
Claire raised an eyebrow.
Tristan Lockwood appeared to have deep feelings for the Princess Pea he kept outside, even she couldn’t ruin it, not to mention Lucy’s brainless methods.
As for her relationship with him as a wife, there weren’t even feelings, how could there be anything to ruin.
After thinking for a long time, she replied: "I’m not too sure."
Women wanting to pursue Tristan Lockwood didn’t stop at Lucy York either. Claire Hale’s policy had always been, rather than causing destruction to stop it, better to catch them in action and hold leverage, so she could use it to threaten Tristan Lockwood to give her money.
"Attorney Hale still seems to be single, right? Speaking of which, I wanted to introduce you to someone today!"
Chelsea suddenly changed the subject, intending to arrange a matchmaking.
She wasn’t interested in this kind of thing, as it was getting late and somewhat tedious, she thought about excusing herself.
About to refuse, her phone received a message from Tristan Lockwood.
He only sent two brief words: "Come out."
Listening was definitely impossible, Claire didn’t even reply and looked up, seeing a tall man standing with his back facing her.
Seems like the person Chelsea wanted to introduce.
"Hello."
Claire greeted politely, Tristan Lockwood waiting outside for her could continue waiting, he had always been impatient with her, might drive away in ten minutes anyway.
Taking advantage of this time, she could socialize, what if it was a potential client?
The man turned around and glanced at her with lowered brows, Claire paused slightly.
If Tristan Lockwood was the type of person rejecting people from a thousand miles away with alienation, the man in front gave a strong sense of high-ranking distance.
"Claire Hale?"
The man’s voice was deep and sexy, magnetic, his deep-set eyes flashed with an imperceptible playfulness.
She raised her eyes: "You know me?"
"Heard of you."
Claire was a bit surprised; the man seemed distinguished and had a commanding presence, coupled with a face so perfect it could rival Tristan Lockwood’s, such a character in Riverbend would undoubtedly be a prominent figure, yet she hadn’t heard of him in her long tenure in the Riverbend legal circle.
The party dance music gracefully started playing, and the man stretched out his arm towards her: "Together?"
Claire didn’t refuse.
She wasn’t very good at dancing, but the man was very practiced, keeping the rhythm well and deliberately slowing down to accommodate her steps.
After the dance ended, the man released her wrist and turned around to leave.
Claire asked: "You haven’t told me your name yet."
The man looked back at her: "Is there a need for that?"
Claire paused, her peripheral vision catching Chelsea standing not far away, looking at her awkwardly with another unfamiliar man in a suit beside her.
Chelsea pointed to the man next to her, Claire immediately realized what was going on, politely tilting her head to the man ahead: "Sorry, I mistook you for someone else."
The man responded with a soft ’mm’ and turned to leave.
Simultaneously, Chelsea approached curiously asking: "Attorney Hale, who was that gentleman?"
Claire: "Wasn’t he your invited guest?"
Chelsea shook her head, said: "I don’t know him. But he doesn’t seem like someone without identity, how could he suddenly appear at the banquet?"
Claire didn’t think much of it, said lightly: "Maybe a guest from another hotel mistakenly came."
She took a glance at the time, it was already very late. Thinking Tristan Lockwood might have already left, she bade farewell to Chelsea, left the venue, and found her car in the parking lot, sitting in the driver’s seat.
"Still knew to come out."
Tristan Lockwood’s cold voice sounded in the car, Claire was startled, turned her head, he was half-lying in the passenger seat, looking leisurely, collar slightly open.
"What are you doing in my car?" She frowned, extremely displeased with his uninvited guest behavior.
Tristan lazily glanced at her: "Your car is my car."
He naturally had the car keys.
She smelled the alcohol on him and understood this was him treating her like a driver.
Though not very willing, but since he was already in the car, she couldn’t throw him out, just as she was about to start the engine, Tristan suddenly pressed down.
He was tall with long legs, Claire drove a mini BMW today, the car’s space was not spacious, when Tristan leaned over, their bodies were pressed together.
He lowered his head to kiss her, but Claire blocked him with her hand: "Don’t get your breath of alcohol on me."
She still had to drive and didn’t want to be stopped by the police to take a breath test.
Moreover, Claire wasn’t particularly inclined at the moment, when Tristan’s hands got restless, she pushed him off again.
Tristan’s nose touched her neck, suddenly paused, when he raised his eyes to look at her, his pupils were cold.
He said: "Did you touch another man?"
Claire paused, recalling the man from the party earlier, it was likely the scent of perfume from him had lingered.
But she didn’t intend to explain to Tristan, only said: "Are you doing it or not, if not, I’ll drive."
Her attitude was clearly perfunctory, Tristan punished her by biting the tender skin on the back of her neck, Claire’s body quivered.
Tristan: "Your body likes me this much, why don’t you feel anything for me?"
