Chapter 113: Angry Little Cat
But he hadn’t done anything to her yet, so a tiny foolish hope still clung to her heart.
Tears covered her cheeks and her pitiful expression like rain-soaked flowers.
She hoped her face could win her even the smallest bit of mercy from Ding Yixin.
But the moment Rong Xingyu ran back into the restroom, whatever remaining value she had also disappeared.
Ding Yixin lifted his eyes and glanced toward the corner.
He didn’t even need to speak.
A man standing in the shadows stepped forward covering her mouth and locked his thick arm around her throat.
The woman’s eyes widened with terror.
She didn’t even have time to let out a sound before she was dragged away.
Despair and regret swallowed her whole.
In her heart she screamed.
If she had known...
if she had known...
This smiling man was actually the most terrifying one.
...
A small flame of anger burned in Rong Xingyu’s chest.
He pressed his lips together, his face was dark and tense.
He paced around in the restroom feeling irritated.
He even glanced at the trash bin in the corner and almost kicked it, but in the end, he only stomped his foot on the floor.
So Dr. Rong was actually that kind of person!
Rong Xingyu didn’t know whether he was more disappointed or more angry.
Either way, he was furious.
He stomped around the small restroom several times before stopping at the sink.
He looked at his reflection and froze for a moment.
The face in the mirror had flushed cheeks and furrowed eyebrows filled with irritation.
Even the ends of his brows showed unhappiness.
His lips were pushed together in a pout.
He looked a little unfamiliar to himself.
Why was he so mad?
He raised a hand and patted his cheeks, trying to calm down and whispering to himself, "Rong Xingyu, get it together."
Just then, the restroom door opened.
In the mirror, Rong Xingyu saw Ding Yixin walk in.
The moment he saw him, all of Rong Xingyu’s efforts to calm himself disappeared completely.
He let out a loud hmp and refused to even look at Ding Yixin.
He turned around and tried to walk out.
But Ding Yixin stepped forward and just happened to block his way.
Rong Xingyu moved left; Ding Yixin moved left.
Rong Xingyu moved right; Ding Yixin followed right.
Rong Xingyu: ...
"Move!" he snapped and raising his hands to push him.
But before he could touch him, Ding Yixin caught both his wrists, holding them in his palms.
Ding Yixin gave a pull and Rong Xingyu stumbled forward, nearly pressing into his chest.
There was almost no space left between them.
"Who made our Yuyu so mad? Your little mouth could hang an oil bottle right now."
Ding Yixin’s voice was like a spark thrown into a pile of gunpowder.
Rong Xingyu struggled to pull his hands back, but he couldn’t.
He lifted his head and glared fiercely at Ding Yixin.
He thought he was making his fiercest expression, but in truth his eyes were a little red and with his lips pressed together, he looked no different from an angry little cat with its fur standing up.
Ding Yixin saw that Rong Xingyu was truly upset and he couldn’t help letting out a sigh in his heart.
He was afraid he would hurt Rong Xingyu’s hands, so he gently rubbed the boy’s wrists a few times.
Ding Yixin lowered his head to look into Rong Xingyu’s eyes and said softly,
"Yuyu, have you ever thought about why you are so angry?"
Rong Xingyu looked at Ding Yixin.
His eyes were like a deep abyss with no end.
The two of them were standing so close that their bodies were almost touching.
They looked at each other and Rong Xingyu’s small Adam’s apple moved as he swallowed his saliva without thinking.
That tiny swallow sounded extra loud in the quiet restroom as if someone had turned up the volume.
Being stared at like this by Ding Yixin, Rong Xingyu suddenly had a feeling that if he didn’t say something soon, something scary would happen next.
"W-why?" he said.
Right after he spoke, Ding Yixin released his hands.
A complex expression appeared on Ding Yixin’s face.
With his hands suddenly empty, Rong Xingyu felt a strange sense of loss.
He couldn’t help curling his fingers into the fabric of his shirt.
His heart was beating faster for some reason.
He didn’t even know what he was feeling as he waited for Ding Yixin’s answer.
After a long moment, he only heard Ding Yixin let out a sigh.
Ding Yixin said, "Yuyu, are you bothered because you think I want another woman?"
Rong Xingyu didn’t expect him to say it so directly.
The tips of his ears turned red.
He pressed his lips together and stayed quiet.
Ding Yixin continued, "I won’t go after them. But Yuyu, have you ever thought about it? One day, there will always be someone by my side, no matter if that person is a man or a woman."
The red color at Rong Xingyu’s ears faded.
He suddenly raised his head to look at Ding Yixin.
"People are all lonely, Yuyu," Ding Yixin said.
But you still have me, Rong Xingyu almost blurted out.
Yet when he saw Ding Yixin’s eyes that was dark like a deep pool, he suddenly felt a heavy pressure coming from him.
Ding Yixin took a step forward.
Then another.
He kept pressing in on him and Rong Xingyu had no choice but to step back again and again, until his back pressed tightly against the door.
Rong Xingyu’s eyes widened as he listened to Ding Yixin’s slightly rough voice.
"Yuyu, I am a normal man."
Rong Xingyu parted his lips a little but had no idea what to say.
He just stared at Ding Yixin in a daze.
Ding Yixin lowered his head slowly.
His face grew closer and closer to the point their noses were about to touch.
