Chapter 151: New Roommates Arrive
"Really?!" Hearing there would be free food, Ye Shiyuan immediately forgot all his internal thoughts.
But then he seemed to think of something and quickly waved his hands. "Forget it, forget it. Let’s not let your boyfriend spend money. I’d feel bad."
Rong Xingyu’s eyes curved as he smiled. "It’s fine. He has plenty of money."
The meaning behind his words was simple: eat as much as you want don’t hold back!
Ye Shiyuan let out an exaggerated "whoa," and his face lit up with excitement.
If this was sugary food, then let it come even stronger!
He could handle it! Burp!
...
After they finished eating, Rong Xingyu and Ye Shiyuan slowly walked back to the dorm.
As soon as they entered the room, Rong Xingyu noticed that the bed across from his on the right side of the door, near the balcony had also been made.
The last roommate had arrived.
But there was still no sign of the person himself.
When they first walked in, Rong Xingyu heard running water from the bathroom, so he guessed the new roommate was inside.
Sure enough, soon a person pushed open the bathroom door and walked out.
The newcomer was quite tall, probably around 1.8 meters, but he was very thin.
He wore slippers and held a washbasin in one hand.
It looked like the boy had just finished washing his hair.
A towel was draped over his head,
and as he walked toward his bed, he used one hand to rub his wet black hair.
When Rong Xingyu saw him coming over, he instinctively showed a polite smile.
"Hello."
But just as Rong Xingyu greeted him, the boy lifted his eyes and looked in his direction.
He had just washed his hair,
and drops of water were still dripping from the ends of his bangs.
Because of that, the boy’s cold and almost impatient-looking eyes were completely unobstructed.
"I—I’m Rong Xingyu."
Being stared at with those dark and heavy eyes, Rong Xingyu’s voice lost strength and became soft.
He quietly swallowed his saliva and the first thought that flashed through his mind was: this new roommate was hard to deal with!
The boy continued wiping his hair.
He stared at Rong Xingyu without any change in his expression and didn’t speak.
Just when Rong Xingyu felt so embarrassed that goosebumps almost rose on his skin even in late-August heat the boy finally pulled his gaze away.
"Lan Yan."
He said his name with a cold tone, then pulled out his chair with one hand as if annoyed, sat down with his back facing Rong Xingyu, and turned toward his desk.
Rong Xingyu: ...
He blinked a few times, staring at the back of his new roommate’s head and stood there processing the whole thing for a while.
It wasn’t exactly that Lan Yan disliked him.
It felt more like... this was simply Lan Yan’s personality.
Hopefully they would get along peacefully later.
Thinking this, Rong Xingyu also turned around and sat down at his own desk.
"Eh?" he whispered softly.
He looked at the things on his desk, why did something feel different from how he left it earlier???
He couldn’t point out exactly what had changed.
Before he went out, he hadn’t memorized the exact placement of everything on his desk.
But he just felt something was off.
It was like someone had touched his things.
That thought made him frown slightly.
He pulled open the drawer beside him, it wasn’t locked.
After opening the drawer and seeing the inside clearly, the thought not only didn’t disappear, it became even stronger.
Rong Xingyu quietly looked at the other people in the dorm.
Ye Shiyuan had his feet propped on his desk and was looking down at his phone, completely focused.
He suddenly smacked his thigh and burst into loud laughter, as if he had found a hilarious joke.
Pan Yinhu was sitting at his desk reading a book thicker than a brick.
He kept taking notes while reading.
He was definitely the quiet, top-student type.
As for Lan Yan behind him, he was no longer wiping his hair.
But since Lan Yan was sitting with his back toward Rong Xingyu, Rong Xingyu had no idea what he was doing.
He only glanced for a second before looking away.
Rong Xingyu raised a hand and touched the tip of his nose, feeling unsure.
He really could not remember exactly how he had placed his things before leaving.
And after a quick look, nothing seemed to be missing.
Maybe he was just overthinking.
...
Everyone knew that every freshman entering university, while still full of dreams about a beautiful college life, must face a harsh reality check and it’s military training.
It was also the quickest way to separate new students from seniors.
After all, except for those poor freshmen going through military training, who else would be walking around campus in grass-green uniforms, with skin tanned to wheat-brown or even dark brown?
Especially in late August and early September, when the summer heat hadn’t faded at all, and the strong sun was still waiting to attack.
Training under the blazing sun was a nightmare for anyone who loved pale skin.
Even people who put on three or four layers of sunscreen and hid in the shade to reapply during every break still couldn’t escape getting at least a few shades darker.
Among all the cries of "Ugh, I got even darker!" there was one person who looked completely "out of place."
For some reason, Rong Xingyu kept feeling that many eyes were secretly looking at him.
There was even a kind of silent resentment in those gazes.
He touched his nose and stood a little straighter.
He had no idea how eye-catching he looked right now.
The standard military-training uniform looked especially good on him.
He had tucked the loose T-shirt into his pants.
His waist was already slim and his legs long and with the shirt tucked in, his waist looked like it could be wrapped with one hand.
