Trapped in Paradise (In a Hentai World, as a Trap)-Chapter 397
“Get up.”
“You’re going to be late for class.”
Early in the morning, when the sky was still gray and sleepy, Wen Yang stood beside the bed, yawning as he urged Ning Chu awake.
“The sun’s already shining on your butt,” he teased—and gave the little succubus a light smack on her raised rear.
But Ning Chu, still half-asleep, only let out a faint hum through her nose, twisted her waist, and snuggled deeper into the blankets in search of a more comfortable position.
Wen Yang was about to yank the blanket off her when he noticed a pink, heart-shaped tail poking out. A mischievous grin crept onto his face.
He reached out and caught the tail between his fingers, gently rubbing the soft heart-shaped tip. “Come on, get up—don’t make me have to
pull
your tail.”
“Mmm~”
The sensitive tail sent a shiver up Ning Chu’s spine, snapping her halfway out of sleep. The tingling that started at her tailbone spread through her body, and she couldn’t stop a soft, breathy sound from escaping her lips.
After a moment, her long lashes fluttered open. Her eyes, bright and glistening like spring peach blossoms, blinked up at him with a mix of innocence and dazed sweetness.
Wen Yang’s heart melted instantly. He quickly let go of her tail and said, “Breakfast. Wash up and get ready to leave.”
“Okay~” she replied, though her voice was full of disappointment.
He gave her another light slap over the blanket—but somehow, her butt stuck up even higher.
“...”
Ning Chu realized what she was doing, and her face flushed an even deeper pink. Embarrassed, she quickly flattened herself under the blanket and muttered defensively, “It’s your fault for grabbing my tail…”
‘Ahh, menstruation really is the enemy of all couples in love~’
She stretched an arm out of the covers, only to shiver at the morning chill. Wen Yang tossed her a set of loungewear, and she hurried to pull it on.
“What classes do you have today?” he asked.
“Two major courses in the morning, one English class in the afternoon.”
“English again, huh~” Ning Chu groaned. “Good thing I barely passed the final with sixty points last semester. Otherwise I’d have to take the makeup exam next week.”
Near the end of last semester, their English teacher went on maternity leave and was replaced by Qian Qian.
It was obvious that Qian Qian had given Ning Chu some
special
help; otherwise, she definitely would’ve failed.
After getting dressed, Ning Chu finally broke free from her warm cocoon and dashed into the bathroom to wash up.
‘Ugh, even after a whole night, my period’s still super light…’
‘It used to be heavier.’
‘Guess my hormones are messed up again.’
She checked her pad, hesitated for a moment, then decided to switch to a thicker one—otherwise, the lack of absorption would just make things uncomfortable.
“Ning Chu, hurry up!”
“I know! Check how long until the next bus gets here!”
“Five minutes.”
“Crap!”
She jumped up, fumbling to pull on her pants, then glanced at her reflection in the mirror. A stubborn ahoge stuck straight up from her head. She tried to press it down with damp fingers while brushing her teeth—but it popped right back up.
No time for that now.
She burst out of the bathroom, grabbed a random outfit from the wardrobe, and ran back in to change. In just two minutes, she was fully dressed and ready to go.
“Let’s move, let’s move!”
Wen Yang handed her a paper bag. “I bought you breakfast.”
“You should’ve woken me up earlier!” she complained, stuffing the breakfast into her small shoulder bag as she hurried out the door. The chilly air in the hallway instantly cleared away the last of her sleepiness.
“I did wake you up—you just didn’t get up.”
“Then you clearly weren’t firm enough!” she shot back, checking the time. “Come on, hurry! The bus is almost here!”
Wen Yang locked the door and ran after her, the two of them sprinting side by side toward the bus stop in the cold morning air.
It was only the second day of the new semester, and since they hadn’t figured out what kind of temper their new teachers had yet, being late was
definitely
not an option.
What if one of them was the stubborn type—the kind who’d fail you on the spot for being late just once…
And now that Wen Yang was no longer the class monitor, he couldn’t just make up excuses to skip class like before.
Ning Chu, of course, also didn’t want her boyfriend having any reason to deal with that
sexy ghost girl
again.
The two of them ran all the way to the edge of the village and immediately spotted a bus parked at the stop.
Wen Yang instinctively broke into a sprint and, within seconds, had pulled far ahead of her.
“Wen Yang! Slow down! My legs are short!” she shouted, panting as she tried to catch up, her short legs flailing in an almost comical blur.
Before she could reach the stop, the bus doors closed with a soft hiss, and it slowly pulled away from the curb.
She came to a halt, bending over with her hands on her knees, gasping for breath. Thick white clouds of steam puffed from her mouth into the cold morning air. She hadn’t exercised in ages, so that few-hundred-meter dash had completely wiped her out.
Wen Yang strolled back to her side. “If your legs weren’t so short, we’d already be on the bus.”
“I’m not short! I just got out of winter break and my mom spoiled me into a couch potato,” Ning Chu shot back, glaring at him. “When’s the next bus?”
“Fifteen minutes, maybe?”
Fifteen minutes waiting time, plus thirty on the ride… they’d definitely be late.
Her gaze swept around and landed on a row of shared e-scooters parked by the curb.
“Let’s take one of those! You drive, I’ll ride with you!”
Technically, sharing scooters weren’t supposed to carry two people.
But the road to campus was wide and empty this early in the morning—no traffic, no police, no problem.
After scanning the QR code and unlocking it, Ning Chu climbed on behind him, wrapping both arms tightly around his waist. “You
can
drive this thing, right?”
“Of course I can.”
“Better not crash and send us both flying.”
“Don’t tell me
you
can’t ride one?”
“...”
Ning Chu hesitated, then huffed defensively, “I
used to
be able to! Just… kinda rusty now.”
“Anyway, quit talking and go! We’ll really be late if you keep stalling!” she urged, quickly changing the subject. “And drive steady—I don’t want to die!”
Pressing her body close, Ning Chu hugged Wen Yang tighter. Even with their thick winter jackets between them, there wasn’t an ounce of romantic thought in her head.
The wind howled past, but when she rested her cheek against his back, Wen Yang’s warmth shielded her from the cold.
He always felt like a shelter—someone who blocked out the wind and rain for her.
Ever since she’d first crossed into this world, he had quietly taken care of her. When she’d first turned into a girl, it was Wen Yang who’d kicked down the bathroom door and rushed her to the hospital. When she was lost and unsure, he was always there beside her—steadily, silently—until he’d turned her from an independent person into someone who’d begun to rely on him.
—-Except at night. He was
way
too rough at night! If she weren’t a succubus, she’d have never survived it!
Ning Chu squinted her eyes, the morning scenery blurring past as she basked in the warmth radiating from his back.
“Ning Chu,” Wen Yang’s voice cut through the wind.
“Yeah?” she answered, barely catching it.
“What do you want for lunch today?”
“Seriously? We just woke up, and you’re already thinking about lunch?” she grumbled, sliding her hands under his jacket for warmth. “Something sour, maybe… sweet and sour pork sounds good.”
“Got it,” he said.
