Chapter 16: You are so greedy
After the announcement that put him in disappointment and annoyance, they exchanged names and the guy left.
Aries was then left with himself in the room, and he opened the system.
"So, is the task complete?"
[Host, no.
Currently at 80%.]
"All that isn’t enough?" Aries asked, annoyed. "They even saw my butt!"
[So?]
"You are so annoying."
Before Thalos left, he had told Aries basic things, and now he was just about putting them to use. Most people here didn’t bathe in bathhouses because they were usually busy, so they used water-based spells to wash their bodies, and almost anyone could do it with the laid-out spell.
Before leaving, he had left a few of those spells with Aries, and he swiped one out now. Aries removed the little piece of clothing on his body, activated the spell, and straight away his body was clean of any dirt remaining.
Then he changed into the set of clothing that had been handed to him. Aries finally smelled like the Aries he knew—even though there was no perfume in this world for him to smell perfectly nice. But according to the tiger guards, he’d heard that his scent alone could set kings ablaze.
Aries sat on the bed, his leg tapping the floor slowly, when the door creaked open to reveal a burly man and he jumped backwards towards the end of the bed instantly, fear jolting in him.
’Fuck! How did the guards find me?’ His breathe was laboured as he pondered.
The easiest interpretation of the one before him was that he was the tiger guaid and had come to drag him to the king who had no women up.
Aries squeezed his eyes close as he knew he couldn’t do anything than to wait dejectedly for the worst but nothing happened.
Instead of dragging him away, the man only looked at Aries for a while, then walked toward the other bed—the space that had been declared occupied.
And this burly man sat down.
Aries eyes were stuck on this man as he watched in confusion and brewing questions and this man’s eyes also stayed on him and Aries took his eyes away as fear flashed in him for an instance.
As he sat with his back grinding into the wall, he held the pillow dearly to his chest. Perhaps the guard had sat first because he was tired, but the man’s first words quickly destroyed that belief.
"I heard from them that you bear Aries, and you are the new cub."
Aries looked up at him, perhaps he wasn’t a guard after all. What possible explanation is there again?
"My roommate?" he muttered, brows arched. The guy just looked at him, confused.
"Roommate?" he repeated Aries’ word, and his expression. Aries quickly shook his head.
"I mean... do you also occupy this room? Like, you’re the one I’m sharing it with?" he asked clearly this time, and the guy finally understood. He smiled.
"Yes, I’m the one," he said. "How have you been faring without me?"
He stood up and came closer to Aries, giving him a proper look. He was well chiseled and defined, and his six-pack seemed to call out to Aries. He swallowed hard as those abs hovered at his eye level.
The guy squeezed Aries’ shoulder and said, "Perhaps you might need someone to help you relax. I heard from madam that you’ve been running away from tiger guards. Do you like massages?"
Whatever he was doing made Aries instantly alert. He shot up from the bed and said, "Why do you work here if you’re this well toned?"
That wasn’t the question he intended to ask, but what could a man do when his senses were clouded with lust?
"I’m not sure I got you..." the man trailed off, and Aries responded quickly.
"I mean, why aren’t you as frawny as the other males I’ve seen?"
"Oh... that’s because they are mostly bottoms, and I’m a top. As I am, I work as both male and female attendant."
"Never thought there would be a bi man in the Beastworld."
"Huh?" The burly man was confused by Aries’ words.
Aries waved it off. "Look, I think we should just sleep. Keep your massages."
And with that, Aries pushed the man aside a bit, though he was very cautious about where to place his hands. Big burly men had always been a turn-on for him, though he wasn’t sure why it wasn’t that way with the tiger king.
’Probably because I was thinking hard about how to save my life rather than worry about a tyrant king’s abs...’
’And besides... he was clothed, and this one...’
His eyes trailed to the shirtless man again, and he shook his body to dispel the thought. He closed his eyes, ready to sleep.
During the night, the beast veil spell wore off, and before morning, it was back on again. With the way it had been reset, it worked in his favor.
The spell activated at 7 a.m. and went off at 7 p.m. He would need to retire early to bed and wake up quite late. Or at the very least, he would need to search the system for a proper beast disguise.
[Host, you’ve got one here.
Perhaps when the beast veil spell runs out and you still need to be awake, you can use your beast disguise.
The issue is that one with keen eyes would quickly know, and you need to avoid touch.]
"Okay."
"How much is the damn thing? Because I know you’re a greedy one."
[Host, like I say, demand increases market.

"I knew it. You are so greedy."
Aries woke up that morning feeling refreshed, but yet again, it was the second day in the Beastworld, and each day seemed as though it would be harder to get back home, however he had gotten here in the first place.
Aries did the needful, and soon he was dressed in the comfy clothing and ready to start the day’s work.
His roommate was also done, and upon seeing Aries ready, he came to his front and said, "My name’s Carl. I thought you should know my name since I know yours already."
"Cool. Are you the one to take me to my task of the day?" Aries asked, and Carl nodded.
Throughout their walk to the station, Aries made sure to seal his mouth. Carl dropped him off at the entrance and went off, and Aries was finally free.
He stood before the door, knowing nothing about what was behind it.
