Chapter 532: Chapter 260: The Sky-Shrouding Fog Serpent_3
He placed her on the ground.
Alka began training some techniques needed in the Dream Realm.
But it could only be within his Dream Bubbles; after all, there was a big creature outside, and now was not the time to venture out.
However, in the initial stages, his bubbles were sufficient, as he could control their changes for simulation.
「...」
When the curtain of the sky was lifted once more, Alka woke up in his room.
After a quick wash, he went out onto the deck. Chadite was already awake and performing her daily morning exercises there.
She was punching and kicking a training dummy on the deck.
After a moment’s thought, Alka walked over.
"How about we spar?"
Hearing this, Chadite withdrew her kicking leg, turned, and looked at Alka.
"What, trying to overpower me with your newly advanced strength?"
"What are you talking about? You attack me; I’ll only dodge and block, I won’t fight back," Alka said.
"Alright, so I’m just a training dummy to you? Still, a willing target is too good to pass up."
Chadite flashed a brilliant smile, tossed the white towel from around her neck onto the dummy, the golden threads on her forehead flickering faintly.
With a flash of white light, she instantly vanished.
When she reappeared, she was already beside Alka, her leg glowing as she aimed a side kick at Alka’s head.
No honor at all, a sneak attack!
Although Chadite’s sudden attack caught Alka somewhat off guard, he had already initiated a defensive maneuver the moment the golden lines on Chadite’s forehead had flickered.
He instinctively ducked. The kick, glowing with golden light, skimmed over the top of his head. The breeze generated by her calf scraped his cheek painfully, even ruffling his hair.
"Are you trying to kill me?" Alka exclaimed.
A direct hit to the head like that would be nasty.
Chadite didn’t speak. Her right leg, which had just kicked out, changed its trajectory in mid-air. Her calf curved slightly as her foot shot sideways towards Alka’s head.
This sudden, powerful change in attack left Alka no time to react; he couldn’t dodge.
He immediately raised his arm to block.
The tremendous impact forced Alka’s knees to bend slightly. A heavy sensation shot through his arm; the rapid attack left it temporarily numb, devoid of pain.
However, Chadite had already used the force of her foot pressing against Alka’s arm to launch herself into the air.
Following the momentum, she turned sideways.
Her left leg, now wreathed in light, kicked towards him at a speed invisible to the naked eye.
Alka immediately raised his free right hand to block, but the powerful impact still sent him staggering backward and sideways.
With a sidestep, he stopped and stabilized his stance.
This time, Chadite didn’t press her advantage but stood still.
"How was that? Not bad, right?"
The attack sequence was seamless; from start to finish, everything had been completed in just two seconds.
The Ring of Light granted Chadite incredible speed.
Alka shook his hands, somewhat surprised, and said, "Not bad! You’ve gotten so strong."
"Hmph, you’re not the only one who’s been growing."
Hearing this, Alka couldn’t help but smile. He took off his jacket and tossed it to the side.
"Then I’ll have to properly test your skills."
"Stop boasting. I was the one who taught you your close-combat skills, remember?"
Alright, Alka couldn’t refute that.
When it came to pure close-combat skill, Chadite was indeed number one on the ship.
And she was leagues ahead of the person in second place.
Because Alka *was* second place.
As for Pororo, who also fought in close combat, he had no techniques to speak of.
Because he didn’t need techniques.
Especially after acquiring Winter Flower, he needed them even less.
He only needed to know how to exert his power to the fullest.
Focusing too much on technique would only hinder his natural advantages.
"Ready? Here I come," Chadite said, shaking her short, silver hair.
Droplets of sweat on her head glittered in the sunlight as they were flung off.
The drops slid from her cheeks, down her swan-like, elegant neck, past her beautiful collarbones, and onto her close-fitting clothes.
Alka adopted a fighting stance, flexing his fingers.
"Come on."
The golden lines on her forehead flickered, and the Ring of Light adorned Chadite’s head.
"Going all out?" Alka asked.
"How else can I see how much I’ve improved?"
Hearing this, Alka nodded.
A Mirror Surface appeared on his face.
"Sound of Dawn, reinforce!"
As he spoke, the entire deck, the surrounding walls, and the mast took on a mirror-like metallic luster.
The entire surface of the ship was coated in a metallic layer, increasing its defense.
WHOOSH!
A sound like an aurora streaking through the air.
A flash of light shimmered and darted out.
Chadite vanished on the spot; her speed was simply too great.
Even Alka, despite his recent advancement, found it hard to follow her movements clearly. He had to rely purely on instinct.
Alka instantly leaned his head back. He didn’t even see her leg, only a flash of light that passed centimeters from his cheek.
But Alka could make out a slender, pale calf.
She’s too fast!
Alka’s mind screamed.
Another whip kick lashed out, striking Alka’s shoulder and forcing him back several steps as he failed to defend in time.
"Cough, cough!"
The blow knocked the wind out of him.
This isn’t working. Relying purely on physical prowess, I can’t contend with Chadite when she’s using the Ring of Light.
One Mirror after another emerged above his head, reflecting the entire area around Alka from all angles, allowing him to observe the whole battle.
Behind!
Seemingly having anticipated it, Alka ducked and rolled forward.
The attack, a beam of light, struck the deck where Alka had just been, producing a loud THUD.
It was like a fist hammering on a metal plate.
The Sound of Dawn emitted a series of low, displeased musical tones.
At this moment, only a beam of light could be seen constantly refracting on the deck as it launched attacks.
If one’s vision was sharp enough, they would realize this beam of light was Chadite herself.
Alka scrambled to dodge, sometimes appearing to move erratically. When he couldn’t evade an attack entirely, he would summon a Mirror to block.
