Truth Of The Forgotten Age-8-12: The Dungeon Keeps Changing
The next floor was a large, sprawling dungeon. Like, an actual prison. It was surprisingly well-lit, considering that there weren't any visible light sources.
"Girls, coat your weapons with this." Seraph said, handing out vials of what seemed like water.
"Water?" Aviris wondered what was so special about it.
"Holy water, specifically. This floor has tons of ghosts, zombies, skeletons and the like." Sirtia said, as she gave her weapon to Seraph, who then coated Sirtia's axe with the liquid.
The younger girls "ahhh"ed in unison. Veronica, Eleanora and Aviris all coated their weapons as best as they could.
"How did you even get this?" Veronica asked.
"Preists. Turns out, they sell it. I was surprised when I first found out." Seraph responded with a chuckle. "Anyways, let's get a move on."
Lilith examined the Holy Water and scrunched her face. "I knew angels were just as kinky as us, but that's a step too far..."
"What was that?" Eleanora asked.
"Oh, nothing. Just... make sure you wash your hands. And burn those clothes."
"Oh...? Oh... Eugh..." Verinica took awhile to understand what Lilith was talking about, but when she did, she could never look at Holy water the same ever again. "Wait, isn't your race highly consistent with bestiality and incest?"
"And that's where we end this conversation!" Kazue yelled, her face as red as a tomato.
The girls were still on edge, considering the chaos on the previous floor. And, considering they haven't seen single creature put them even more on edge. At least there were small creatures, like rodents and insects. So nothing is causing them to hide at least.
"Great... so this floor's changed too. What awaits us at the end?" Sable faked being enthusiastic miserably.
"Hey, take a look at this!" Cassidy yelled out, standing in front of a small mural.
Everyone gathered around, the mural was odd. A creature? Only part of it? It was so old, the girls could only make out, in detail, and goat's head.
Then, there were more murals. A lion and a snake. People have tried to fight it. But they failed? What kind of creature is this story talking about?
"A monster? With attributes of a lion, snake and goat? That doesn't sound like anything I've seen in any bestiary." Seraph said.
"I think these murals are new. I don't remember seeing these here last we came this way." Sirtia said, examining it closely.
"Now I'm curious if these are just simply cosmetic, or hinting us towards something." Veronica wondered.
The girls kept wandering, staying on guard. It was odd. Even the older girls were confused. They recognized the location, but it was different. Too different.
"This dungeon needs to pick a damn difficulty." Sirtia said, her eyes darting around. "At least this place looks familiar. There should be a small rest spot over here." She continued, taking the lead.
And, conveniently enough, there was a room, lit by a cozy bonfire.
"Even if there were monsters, they naturally avoid this place. Everyone should rest up. At least for a moment. Relax for a bit." Kazue explained.
And just like that, the younger girls collapsed with a collective sigh. Snacks, some drinks, and some relaxing activities, like reading.
"Hey, Veronica. I finished a nice novel a while ago. Want to borrow it when we get back?" Sirtia asked, conversing with her book buddy.
"Yeah! Speaking if which, I'm almost finished with one at home. We can trade."
Sirtia responded with the most adorable smile. A smile that made Veronica want to just keep her. For no particular reason.
'Maybe a dress.... A frilly one!'
