Truth Of The Forgotten Age-8-19: Transformation
Over the course of the next few days, there didn't seem to be any major change in Veronica, aside from her just sleeping a lot more than usual. Kazue was still taking care of her, as per Lilith's instructions, trying to do as much as she could in a short amount of time.
Every time Kazue left the room, the girls always asked the same question.
"Is she alright?" Sable asked this time.
"Yeah. Still asleep. But I don't know if it's working."
It was rather uneasy. All the things Lilith said that would happen haven't happened yet. Granted, she did say to wait. The issue is, none of them wanted to wait to hear their friend in excruciating pain.
However, the next time Kazue entered the room, she noticed Veronica curled up into a ball, under all of her blankets.
"Are you alright, Veronica?"
"It hurts... it hurts... it hurts..."
Kazue stayed nearby as long as she could, trying to comfort Veronica. And as much as she wanted to stay, she didn't want to risk the "human paint" that Lilith referred to.
Everyone was waiting with bated breath, staring at the fox mother.
"Good news, it seems like the transformation is proceeding." She said with a dower look on her face.
"And the bad news?" Aviris asked.
"She's also in a lot of pain. I know Lilith said that she would be in pain, but it doesn't seem right to just..."
"Let her be in so much pain... I wish we could do something about it." Cassidy finished Kazue's sentence.
They didn't have much choice though. They just had to wait and check on her every now and then.
Veronica hardly touched her food. The pain was so bad, she couldn't even move. She wanted to scream, but the pain stopped her. She wanted to cry, but the pain stopped that too. Her entire body, her whole being felt like it was in hell.
At least she was able to get a little bit of sleep when the pain caused her to pass out. She didn't get any dreams though, as the pain woke her up in the middle of the night.
It also didn't help when, amidst all the pain, she felt these primal feelings. Rage, lust, hunger, only pain held her back. She knew she was going through the transformation process, but why did it need to be so terrible?
In the morning, Kazue went in to check on Veronica, and give her some warm food. Though, she started to freak out when she saw Veronica vomiting out a large amount of this purple viscous sludge.
A talk with Lilith later, that sludge was all her organs that the transformation was getting rid of. It was horrible. Not to mention, cleaning it was difficult, only being able to be in there for such a short amount of time.
Kazue had noted a few immediate changes she could actually see. Veronica had grown a little taller again, and her curves her thicker. Was this also part of the transformation process? She wasn't sure, as she also wasn't the expert.
But for now, just a check in was enough. If Veronica was breathing, that meant that she was alive.
Of course, this broke all the girls' hearts, as they wanted to take care of Veronica better than they currently could, but Lilith kept shutting them down.
Food was left uneaten, more purple sludge, more wanting to scream. It lasted days upon days. A pain that just would go away. Why couldn't it be faster? It was slow, horrible, she wanted it to all stop. She wanted to give up. But she didn't. She made promises. Promises to stay.
After a week of barely any sleep, food or water, Veronica's pain finally began to fade. Though, it also moved at the same time. Her internals were still in pain, but she could at least cry about it. Her head ached and the small of her back was sore.
Kazue inspected her at her own request. Bumps were bumps shouldn't be. Was this... an issue or normal? Should she get a cleric?
After a quick chat with Lilith, Kazue was relieved. It just simply seemed to be that she was growing horns and a tail. Still odd, but at least it was too bad.
Knowing that Veronica was going through all of these changes got the girls curious, what exactly would Veronica look like after?
The girls paced around. They tried other activities to get their mind off of it, but spacing out wasn't exactly fun. Though, eventually they got used to it. Their minds still wandered, but they were able to commit to other tasks.
Mainly training. If they weren't doing household chores, they went straight to training. It helped them. Both physically and mentally.
Then, one day, Lilith said that the process should be finished by now. But, she still wouldn't let anyone, not even Kazue this time, into the room.
They tried to at least eavesdrop, but there wasn't even a peep from the room. Considering Lilith hasn't said anything, Veronica should be fine, right?
Finally, after a week of waiting, the girls were finally allowed into the room...
