Truth Of The Forgotten Age-4-17: Final Day Of The Tournament

The eight girls had plenty of fun, but they went their own separate ways once all the matches for that day were finished.
A new day came over the horizon, the final day of the tournament, and the most important day. The girls already knew who their first opponents would be. All they have to do is come up with some form of plan before they go up. Preferably quickly, as they go up second this time.
"Four beastmen, all of whom are trying to be as vicious as possible. Any thoughts?" Veronica asked her team as they walked to the arena.
"They're probably relying solely on their strength, but not much thought behind their attacks. I noticed that they were wild, and not very accurate. They also seemed relatively slow." Eleanora mentioned, to help try to plan.
"So, we could attack them from range with my spells, might only weaken them, but it could give you all the opening you need to put them down." Cassidy gave a basic plan.
"That could work, but the do have a huge strength advantage over us. If we get in close, weakened or not, we're in their territory." Veronica responded, trying to come up with the safest way for them to win their first round of the day.
"Well, I do have some stealth skills. So... Cass could weaken them and slow them down a bit, and then both you and Elly play defensively, I could get behind them and defeat them before they can do any actual harm." Aviris suggested.
"That can work for now. Which means, we'll need to workshop a plan in battle if anything goes wrong. But, hopefully it works."
"Please don't jinx us." Cassidy joked.
The girls finally arrived at the arena. Since to day was the last day, there were going to be three rounds. The preliminary round, the semi-final round, and, of course, the final.
Which also means, if the girls will. Against the beastmen, and assuming
that
team wins, they'll have to face the Dragons of Varsha in the semi-finals.
The girls took a deep breath as the arena filled up with both contests and observers alike.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome back to the arena, and to the final day of our tournament. Today will consist of the preliminary round, the semi-finals, and the final round. So hold onto your seats, grab a snack or a drink, and please enjoy the violence. The first match will begin in ten minutes!" The announcer stated as he greeted the guests.
The girls waited for the tournament to start, anxious for what could either make them the next best team, or just another decent team. With the Dragons of Varsha, they are probably more than likely to get that spot. But, there's always a slim chance.
And soon, the first two contending teams appeared from their respective entrances.
"And here is our first round! Please welcome the Dragons of Varsha! They've made all their fights look like a walk in the park up till this point. And their opponents, the well rounded group of friends, Kala's Hand! They might not have overwhelming firepower in any category, but they can cover quite a lot of those categories. And so, we begin our first match. Fighters... begin!"
As opposed to what they all thought they were about to see, the Dragons of Varsha were just a bit slower. To be more exact, they were still fast, and wiped the other team, but this time, Veronica and her friends could actually see their movements.
The Dragons aren't just simply fast. They are actually well trained, using proper, fluid movements with their weapons. Which means, even without their speed, they would still be difficult to take down.
With their victory, the Dragons left the arena, then two contestants from the other side came out to perform in their own match. At the moment, nothing to peculiar.
Which meant, next up was the Ethereal Ravens turn in the arena.
The girls took a deep breath, performed a few stretches and double checked their gear. Once they were confident, they made their way into the arena, and stood face to face against the beastmen.
"And for our next fight, I bring to you the lovely ladies of the Ethereal Ravens! And on the other side, the ferocious group of beastmen, Lion's Den! Ready... fight!"
Cassidy immediately started to cast spells, both normal and void spells to slow down and chip away at the beastmen.
During Cassidy's barrage, Veronica and Eleanora closed the gap and waited for an open to get even closer. They weren't even going to think of attacking, not unless they absolutely needed to. Meanwhile, Aviris had disappeared.
So, while Veronica and Eleanora were in a clash with two, and Cassidy holding back another two, the beastmen fell. One by one.
The three didn't really do much, but because of Aviris' skills and a little bit of communication, she essentially took down the entire team singlehandedly.
"Amazing! The girls had utilized their fastest and stealthiest member to get behind their enemy as the others distracted them! If this isn't teamwork, I don't know what is."
The girls went back to the resting area. Now filled with both excitement and anxiety.
"Which means... semi-finals next. And the Dragons of Varsha. Any thoughts?" Veronica asked, placing an ice pack on neck.
"Slowing them down with my void spells would solve the speed issue... but they seem better trained than us. Makes you wonder what Slutisha is teaching us." Cassidy said, still not entirely liking Tisha for... various reasons.
"Cass! That is rude!"
"Hmph!"
"Ahem. The Dragons are our main focus. Not Tisha. Anyways, we can use Cassidy's magic to slow them down, or potentially even hold them back. But it is their training we need to worry about now. I doubt we can use the same tactic we used against Lion's Den on them." Eleanora defused, bringing attention to their next opponent.
"She's right. They're too good to fully for something so simple. So, we need to do something different. First, the members. Their leader has a spear. We can face off against a spear, I believe. I have my agility, Ver can use her axe to hook it, though she doesn't have much range, Cass could keep him at bay woth her own magic, and Elly has the longest reach out of all of us. So who takes who?" Aviris mentioned.
"I'll take their leader. He might underestimate me and act a bit recklessly." Veronica said, choosing her opposition.
"I'll take their support mage. He was in robes, and had the tell-tale sign of being a cleric of sorts. Which means, even if he does have a weapon, I'll be him in range." Eleanora chose her target.
"I guess I can try to take down their sword and shield guy. I can figure something out there." Cassidy decided.
"Which leaves me with their own rouge. He might have strength, but I have flexibility." Aviris said, leaving nor targets left.
"You most certainly do." Veroncia blurted out, immediately blushing from saying her thoughts out loud. Which also made Aviris blush quite hard as well.
"Well that explains how you used fourth five condoms in such a short time." Cassidy said with a lewd smirk.
Two blushing girls, one with sex almost always on the brain, and a princess with great control of her own thoughts, what a perfect team.
However, time was up, and it was time for their next fight, and the first of two important the semi-finals.
They stood in the arena, weapons at the ready, staring down at the pretty boys who call themselves Dragons.
"Ladies and gentlemen, here we have to forces of nature! The Dragons of Varsha, who have wiped every other team faster than we can process it. And the Ethereal Ravens, the girls who have secretly became the number one female team at the academy, and have been fighting more with smarts than muscles. Which titan will fall? And which one will progress to the final? Fight!"
Cassidy already prepared a spell beforehand, putting a large amount of extremely small voids under their opponent's feet. It's not cheating if it's not an attack, right?
Either way, the early cast vastly slowed down the Dragons, letting the girls quickly to their targets.
Veronica had clashed with the leader. A tall guy with blonde hair and green eyes. And most certainly, rather attractive. Too bad Veronica's into women.
"You're the first one to block my attacks! Impressive." He said, trying to get in more attacks.
"Thanks! Took a while... to figure out a plan... to take you on!" Veronica responded, trying to focus on defending and trying to find an opening.
"So far so good! I have to admit, you're pretty good!" He said, barely dodging a swipe from Veronica's axe.
Veronica tried to take a quick peek at the others, who aren't doing particularly great, but are still in the fight.
The leader's attacks were fast and strong, and Veronica was only just barely able to keep up.
At least, until he swapped up he attacks and hit her on the side of her head with the shaft of his spear, knocking her to the ground. He was able to pin her by putting the spear tip to her throat, keeping her down.
"Sorry about this. I really don't like hitting girls. Some bad memories is all. But, I also can't just let you win." He said remorsefully.
"Ugh... I understand." Veronica said, trying to think of how to get out of the situation.
She looked towards the other girls, who seemed to be doing alright. And Veronica noticed that their leader was doing the same.
Veronica took this chance to use her legs and and get out from underneath his weapon, quickly standing, and trying to attack.
"Good distraction! I actually thought you were surrendering for a bit."
"If the other girls are still up, I'm still up."
The girls were fighting valiantly against the Dragons. The announcer was stunned, so he didn't even say a word, and there were plenty of cries and cheers from the crowd for both teams.
However, even with the Dragons slowed, their training was vastly superior. Cassidy was pinned down by the shielded warrior, who happened to have a lot of magical resisting gear.
Aviris' flexibility meant nothing when her opponent predicted her every move. And the Cleric did I'm fact have a weapon, and was able to break through Eleanora's own defenses.
And Veronica, she was still using mediocre gear with lackluster training, and the only thing helping her is Lilith's callouts. However, Veronica wasn't nearly as fast as she wished, and this time, she was pinned, and certainly unable to move.
"Even though they were the first team to really fight against the Dragons, the girls have all been pinned and are unable to continue fighting! The Dragons of Varsha continue to the finals!"
The girls sighed, but at least the Dragons were gentlemen and actually helped the girls back up.
"You're not hurt to bad, are you?" The leader asked Veronica.
"No. It's nothing Elly can't fix anyways. That was a good fight." Veronica said, with a smile on her face.
"Likewise! Say, would you and your team be willing to train with us?" He asked.
"Well, I'd have to talk with the others first. So, we'll have to see. Ah, since you're asking, I should ask what your name is."
"Ah, my name is Lexalah, and you?"
"Veronica. It's great to meet you. Good luck in the finals."
"Thank you!"
The two, along with their teams, left their own separate ways, with the girls heading back home to relax, especially after something so taxing like that. They were surely going to be sore.
"Lexalah... a strange name for a human, even more so for a man. Hm... this era is... interesting."
