[TAMIKO]
Reconciliation.
Forgiveness.
Both were good things and meant well.
But in a world where there was never enough of such, Tamiko knew he had to do better than apologies and public stunts that seemed like he was parading Kosta just for the sake.
He had known that if he had not agreed to Yilena’s madness, this wouldn’t have happened.
His Erasthai wouldn’t have felt so defeated over and over again.
Perhaps that was why, as he sat there, with Kosta staring at him like the world was in his eyes, Tamiko vowed to protect what they had. To make sure there was never someone to come between them, regardless of what was to happen.
Of course, there was the Grealor case that had been set aside for the past ten years. But it was long overdue, and Tamiko wanted Kosta to decide. Or maybe he was pressing a little too much, wasn’t he?
"Kosta..." Tamiko began.
The Kawai Lycan Chief held his breath like this was the moment he was being told to get out and never come back. It wouldn’t be the first time for Tamiko, unfortunately, and Kosta was right to be worried.
Some things happened in their lives simply because neither of them was mature enough to figure shit out. Perhaps that was not the right assumption, but did Kosta have a reference for that other than Tamiko’s unreliable promises in the past
ten
years?
"Little love," Kosta responded gently. You would think his heart wasn’t about to beat out of his chest because of how nervous he was.
Maybe his state could be fixed, and maybe he would find a way around it, but right now, Tamiko would determine that, and it was slowly making Kosta wonder what was in store for him, especially for this prince.
"Would... Would you like to have breakfast with me in the private garden? I mean, you can say no if you don’t want to. Just because I—" Tamiko rambled, only for Kosta to shut him up with a sudden kiss to the lips.
Unlike the hungry one earlier, this was different.
It was delicate, a king that triggered so many emotions in Tamiko, to the point that the Lycan prince just stared into nothingness as his erasure pulled back. Maybe this was a rejection, but why did it feel different?
Gods, Tamko was overthinking it all, and it wasn’t doing him any favors at the moment. Surely, he had to know that by now, no?
"Yes. Of course, I would love to have a normal breakfast with you, always," Kosta said, much to the relief of the panicking prince.
The day was full of surprises, but Tamiko was a determined Erasthai who was going to make certain this new chance wasn’t about to be wasted.
He was going to try his very best to see to it that life was not just about what he could do for his Erasthai, but also about what he could do as the crown prince who was madly in love with the prettiest Lycan out there.
Baby steps... Right?
"Alright. I... I’ll go take a shower and then come for you, or meet you out back. Thank you for the honor," Tamiko said excitedly. You would think he finally won the lottery.
Perhaps he had, even though this was his last chance at wooing Kosta and making things right. This was his last chance at a normal life with his Erasthai, and if he messed it up, he would never get another.
Oh, how eternity was a hauntingly long time for the psycho prince to live through alone.
"What time is breakfast?" Kosta asked when he realized there wasn’t a mention of their meeting time. It was not that hard for him to know where Tamiko was, seeing as the mind links had been restored, and he had that power too.
But Kosta wanted to get it from the man he loved. He had missed out on ten years of listening to Tamiko’s voice this close, and he wouldn’t be taking any more chances. There was no way that he would try to screw with that at this point.
Oh, how adorable of him, but this was just the first step, and knowing both of them, they could as easily screw this shit up, which was not what anyone was hoping for right now.
"In an hour. I’ll send someone to call you, if you do not mind," Tamiko said awkwardly.
It was like a rejection was something he was mentally preparing for. Maybe he just had to train half into being positive, but what use would that be for him, when he had managed to fuckup ten years of their lives?
"I’ll always be ready for you," Kosta said.
Tamiko stared in the sincerest way he could because those words and the tone Kosta used were clearly not just meant to refer to the breakfast, and Tamiko didn’t want to be a pervert this early in the morning.
So, his options were laid bare already.
Maybe if the breakfast went well, he would be accorded a lunch and a dinner and perhaps a routine that would work for them, but first, he had to get through the breakfast and make it a success.
No pressure, right?
"I... I have to go get things ready. You can go back to bed here or to my room. You know... the one we... Nevermind. Just get comfortable wherever you want to. In case of anything, you let me know, I’ll show up as soon as possible," Tamiko groaned.
Kosta let out a light laugh, even as the Lycan prince stepped out of the room they had been in. It was exciting seeing Tamiko nervous about something as simple as breakfast, and deep down, Kosta hoped that this would work for them.
He was tired of the back and forth; he was tired of having to be in the middle always. He was sick of being pushed away only to be pulled closer. It was a cycle that messed with his sanity, and he would be lying if he hoped that shit would stay like that.
He needed some time with his Erasthai.
And Tamiko, being overly handsome in his thirties despite being one of the youngest Lycans, wasn’t helping Kosta decide at all.
"Fuck, he looked good," Kosta breathed once he was sure Tamiko was gone, even from the hallways. He then settled back onto the bed, careful not to make any noise, which was not even supposed to be an issue for him because of his stealth.
But then he was in the palace, the side that he was rarely allowed to come to anymore since the separation from Tamiko. Perhaps that was why he got up and left the room, too, only to bump into Danny at the door.
"Aren’t you a runner, Konstantin?" Danny teased like he had not expected this.
But everyone in the circle knew that Tamiko and Kosta would always find their way back to each other, regardless of how far apart they were. And now with Sanji off the scales, everything was just in the right way.
"Lord Daniel. I see you’re awake," Kosta said dryly.
"Jeez, what crawled up your ass? Anyway, I didn’t come here for trouble. I came to help you out," Danny said.
To that, Kosta raised a brow.
