What's Wrong With Being An Omega Nanny?-Chapter 114: Madam Lila!

Chapter 114

Chapter 114: Madam Lila!
The front doors of the estate burst open at exactly three-fifteen as two small tornadoes in school uniforms shot through the entrance hall. They would have jumped out of the car while it was still moving if Marco hadn’t activated the child lock.
"Slow down!" Gerald called after them, but Dante and Dario were already gone, shoes half kicked off, bags flying just so they could run faster.
They took the stairs two at a time, nearly crashed into a maid carrying fresh towels, and skidded into their bedroom.
Bags hit the floor and their uniform jackets followed.
"Let’s go find out Nanny first!" Dario yelled.
They bolted out again and ran straight to Elias’s old room... the small one he used when he was still just the nanny.
Without knocking, the door slammed open.
"NANNY!"
They froze.
A girl was sitting cross-legged on the bed, surrounded by colouring books and a half-finished drawing of a very angry-looking cat. She had long brown hair in two messy braids and was wearing one of Elias’s old hoodies that hung to her knees.
Dario blinked first. "Isn’t she... Lila?"
Dante tilted his head. "Where’s our nanny?"
Lila closed her colouring book slowly and stood up. She was taller than both of them... almost eleven in a few days, while the twins were still seven. She folded her arms and walked forward until she was right in front of them.
A slow, wicked smile spread across her face.
"Do you want to see your nanny?" she asked sweetly.
Both boys nodded fast.
Lila’s smile grew sharper. "Then kneel."
"Huh?" Dante was puzzled.
"Why should we kneel?" Dario frowned.
"I guess I’ll ask my brother to head back to our old house, and you’ll never see him again, and..."
They dropped to their knees without allowing her to finish.
They even raise their hands with their palms open. Like they were in the army.
Perfect posture.
.
.
Meanwhile, in the hallway, Elias turned the corner and almost walked straight into Gerald.
Gerald steadied him with both hands. "Have you seen the twins yet?"
"They’re back?" Elias asked.
"Oh yes, they are. They just arrived. In fact, they ran past me like rockets. Probably looking for you."
Elias started walking faster. "They went to my old room, didn’t they?"
"That’s my guess," Gerald said, keeping up. "Your sister’s in there."
Elias stopped dead. "Oh no."
Gerald raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"Lila’s... scary when she wants to be."
They reached the open door and peeked inside.
Dante and Dario were on their knees in the middle of the room, hands raised, faces serious.
Lila sat on the edge of the bed, legs crossed, chin in her hand like a tiny queen.
"Apologise," she ordered.
"We’re sorry!" the twins said in unison.
Lila tilted her head. "For what?"
Dante and Dario looked at each other, confused.
"For... bullying Nanny?" Dario tried.
Lila shook her head. "Wrong. Try again."
"For being boys?" Dante guessed.
Lila rolled her eyes. "I don’t care that you’re boys. Try again."
The twins looked lost. They didn’t know what they did wrong.
"You barged into my room without knocking," Lila said slowly, like she was talking to very small children. "That’s rude. People have privacy. You don’t just open doors and yell."
Dario’s mouth formed a perfect O. "What’s privacy?"
Lila sighed like she was fifty years old. "Would you run into your dad’s room without knocking?"
Both boys shook their heads hard.
"Why not?"
"Because... because he’d be mad?" Dante said.
"Exactly," Lila said. "Same rule for everyone. Even me. Even you two. Knock first. Always. Do you understand?"
"Yes, ma’am," they said together.
Elias covered his mouth so they wouldn’t hear him laugh.
Gerald whispered, "Your sister is terrifying."
"She scares me, too, sometimes," Elias whispered back.
Gerald smiled softly. "Were her parents good to her? Before..."
"Yeah," Elias said quietly. "Mom and Dad loved her more than anything. She was their little princess."
Gerald’s smile faded a little. He looked far away for a second.
"What were their names?" he asked.
"Mom was Elena Kane. Dad was Daniel Kane."
Gerald went very still when he heard that name. Elena and Daniel Kane.
Elias noticed his frozen expression and tilted his head. "You okay?"
Gerald blinked and forced a smile.
"Fine. Just... remembered something. Go say hi to the kids. I’ll be downstairs if you need me."
He walked away fast, hands behind his back.
Elias watched him go, confused, then stepped into the room.
"Nanny!" The twins saw him at the same time and launched themselves at his legs.
Dario hugged his left thigh. Dante took the right.
"Lila’s scary!" Dario complained.
"She made us kneel!" Dante added.
Elias crouched down and hugged them both. "She’s right, though. You should knock."
They pouted.
"We’re sorry," Dario said to Lila.
"We’ll knock next time," Dante promised.
Lila looked at them for a long second, then nodded once. "Good. Since you two have realised your mistake... You may rise."
The twins stood up slowly, like they weren’t sure if it was a trick.
Elias smiled at his sister. "You’re mean."
Lila shrugged. "Someone has to teach them manners."
Dante tugged Elias’s sleeve. "Lila, do you wanna play games with us?"
Lila looked away, cheeks pink. "I don’t really like fighting games."
"We have racing!" Dario said.
"And dancing!" Dante added.
Lila tried to look uninterested but she was interested. She had seen people playing video games online and she had always wanted to try it. "I guess I could watch."
The twins cheered and grabbed her hands.
"Come on!"
They dragged her out of the room.
Elias followed, laughing.
The game room was huge... with a big screen, four different consoles, beanbags everywhere, and shelves full of controllers and games.
Lila’s mouth actually fell open.
"This is bigger than the one I saw online," she whispered.
The twins pushed her onto the biggest beanbag and started showing her every game they owned.
"This one’s Mario Kart! You can be Peach!"
"This one’s Just Dance! Nanny’s terrible at it!"
"I am not!" Elias protested.
"You stepped on my foot last time," Dante said.
"That was one time!"
Lila watched them argue and smiled a real smile. It was a small and shy smile.
