Chapter 80: We’re Sorry, Nanny!
Dr Patel froze when he heard that news. That... Bad news. He had asked a couple of doctors in charge to keep an eye on Nathan because he knew what Nathan was capable of doing.
He never wanted this test since he was forced to do it. So he would try his best to avoid it. Just like now.
"Have you searched the premises?" He asked.
"Yes. It seems like he left with a friend. I apologise, doctor, we were too busy to keep an eye on him,"
Dr Patel slipped his fingers through his hair and let out a groan.
"No. It’s my fault. I should have locked the door and refused any guests till after the test,"
Elias, who was listening to them, tilted his head.
"Young master?" He asked and both doctors looked at me. "Are you getting me tested with the son of a wealthy man?" He asked.
"Uh..." Dr Patel didn’t know how to answer that. He just excused the other doctor and told him to leave. After the door closed, he turned to Elias again. "It’s not that. We are just looking for someone who would have a high match with you, Elias,"
Elias shook his head and stepped back.
"It just has to be more than a 50% match. You don’t have to go that far. I’m telling you now, since I never told you before. I’m not getting married to the son of a wealthy man. I want to live a normal life," Elias said. Dr Patel had no idea what to say. No, he has to start thinking of what to tell the president.
That his son has been rejected. Why? Because he’s from a wealthy family. What kind of person wouldn’t want to be from a wealthy family? This kind of person is in front of him.
"Can we at least, continue with the test. He’s not going to be your partner for marriage. Maybe, just for the heat,"
"No... Thank you. I only want someone from a moderate family,"
"But, the Vosses aren’t a moderate family. If the result had been more than a 50% match rate, he would have been your partner," Dr Patel reminded him. He just wanted to use something... anything to change Elias’s mind but it didn’t work.
"But, it wasn’t high." He said and walked towards the door. He opened it and looked at Dr Patel. "Even if I were to do the matching rate, do you think I’d do it with a runaway Young Master? It’s obvious he’s not even interested in me, so please... Find someone else," he said and pointed at his watch.
"My heat might come again," he said and left.
Dr Patel heaved a breath of relief when Elias left. He’s just an omega but he’s suddenly different from how he was before.
He grabbed the telephone and called a number.
"Ah, yes. This is Dr Patel. Send me the list of Alpha matches. I want them in ten minutes,"
He disconnected the phone and started preparing himself to head to the president’s office to tell him about the failure. It was just his fault but also Nathan’s fault.
.
On the other hand, Elias went back to his sister’s room. She was there, chatting with the female doctor who asked her questions about her health.
"I’m not in pain in any way," Lila had responded to her last question before Elias walked in. They both stared at him and she walked towards him, handing her results over to him.
"The overall test came out good. Your sister is in good shape,"
"She had been sick before she went into a coma," he told her.
"I heard. However, it wasn’t a serious illness. She has nothing wrong with her body. Congratulations," he said. Elias took the results and held back his tears.
"Thank you," he said in a whispering tone.
She patted his back and looked back at Lila.
"I hope to see you again, Lila. Be sure to be nice to your brother, okay?"
"Of course," she said and watched the doctor leave.
Elias was still staring at the results until Lila tugged at his clothes.
"Will I be able to go to school again?"
"Of course, Lila. After three years, you’ll be able to go to school. But if you feel any pain, make sure to tell me first, okay?" Lila nodded, and they both left the matching centre together.
"I’ll have to order a ride, since it’s difficult to get a cab around this location," Elias said, taking out his phone.
While he was tapping his screen, inside the car that was parked just a few distances away from the building... Dante and Dario could see Elias with his sister.
"Lila is finally okay?"
"She’s no longer unconscious,"
Clara frowned and wondered how they were worried about Elias, who wasn’t even family to them. All she wanted was a kiss and yet, they were caring about a stranger.
"Can we meet him?" They asked Clara. Clara grinned and shrugged.
"You’d have to kiss me for that... For a whole week."
"You’re lying to the whole world that you’re a good mother... Stop posting us on your social media," Dario frowned.
"We don’t like publicity. You can be a model, but we are kids," Dante added and then smiled. "And also, we don’t need your permission for anything since you’re not our mother yet,"
"What?" Clara asked and before she realised what was going on, they opened the car and stepped out.
"Fuck! No!" She yelled, running out with them. Marco tried not to laugh when she almost fell, trying to catch one of the twins. They were already running towards Elias.
"Brother..." Lila called. But Elias was still staring at his phone, which was hard to look at because of the sun.
"Hold on, Lila. I can’t see the damn screen..."
"Forget the screen, who are those two baby bears running towards us?"
"Baby bears?" He asked, finally lowering his phone. By the time, he looked in front of him, Dante and Dario had gotten closer. They both hugged Elias so tight. Even though, they weren’t tall enough, they hugged his waist.
Elias froze. He didn’t know what to do. Hug them too? Apologise?
He tried to say something but his mouth couldn’t move.
"We’re sorry, Nanny. We won’t bully you again,"
"Yes, come back please..."
Elias finally looked at them crying. They were actually crying. It was a rare sight for them to be crying.
"Hold this for me, will you?" He handed the phone to his sister and knelt in front of them.
"Oh! Don’t apologise. It’s my fault... I shouldn’t have left you two like that," he said, hugging them. He tried not to cry as they were already soaking his shirt with their tears.
"You left us because we were bullying you, right?"
"We are sorry. We won’t do it again,"
"Come back to us, please..."
Elias sniffed in and placed a hand on their shoulders.
"I wish I could come back but..." He paused and slipped his hands from their shoulders to their hands. "I can’t. Your father doesn’t like omegas and... I’m an Omega. What if he kills me?"
"We’ll fight him back. Father wants you back too... We know it. He left the engagement party to find you,"
"Yes and if Father wanted you dead, you wouldn’t be standing here,"
Elias heard their words and smiled. He realised how much he missed them. He ruffled their heads, realising they were right but he couldn’t admit it. He just didn’t want to go back there.
"I want to spend time with my sister..." He said, and the two boys stared at Lila, who was taller and older than they were.
"Brother... Why are the two baby bears staring at me?" Lila asked.
"I’m not baby bear... I’m Dante,"
"I’m Dario,"
They both answered and Lila folded her hands.
"I don’t care what your names are. But I heard what you two just said. You bullied my brother, didn’t you? And now, you want him back. No way! My brother is mine," she said.
Dante and Dario squeezed their lips like they wanted to cry again. Elias couldn’t deal with the attention on him now.
The three of them were already arguing.
"Okay, that’s it, Lila. You shouldn’t be the one bullying them now," he said and turned to Dante and Dario. "By the way, who brought you two here. Don’t tell me it’s your father, please,"
"It’s their mother,"
Another voice came from behind them and when Elias lifted his head, he saw Clara.
"Long time no see, Elias. You look like you’re having the time of your life," she said, with a smile.
Elias looked at her and back at the kids.
"Your mother must be waiting for you... You should go with her,"
"No! We’re not leaving without you," Dante said, grabbing Elias’ pants.
"Even if we’re going back home, you will be the one to take us home,"
Elias lifted his head and met with Clara again. She was furious and a bit flustered. The kids were embarrassing her in front of everyone and thanks to her showing up, a lot of people had gathered. They knew who she was. After all, she’s a celebrity.
