When Life Runs Out, the Fun Begins-Chapter 9 – Feeling a sudden tightness in his rear

Chapter 9

The burly man was named Tie Meng. Relying on his cultivation at the fifth level of Qi Refining, he had been domineering in the Outer Sect for a long time. Today, he was publicly mocked by an unremarkable old man, losing face and burning with anger. He glared fiercely at Mu Xiaochuan, as if he wanted to devour him alive. But feeling the disdainful gazes of those around him, he knew he wouldn't gain any advantage today and could only spit hatefully, cursing, "Old man, just you wait!"
After speaking, Tie Meng slunk away from the crowd, his retreating figure looking particularly pathetic.
Once Tie Meng left, the surrounding disciples cast admiring glances at Mu Xiaochuan, with praises and cheers echoing around him. Some even wanted to invite him for a drink.
Mu Xiaochuan smiled and cupped his hands in thanks, his heart blooming with joy. Being admired felt wonderful, and this feeling filled him with immense satisfaction.
"Ding, congratulations to the host for confronting the bully, gaining the admiration of others, and feeling at ease. You have earned 30 Thrill Points."
The system's notification sounded in Mu Xiaochuan's mind, making him even more delighted.
"It seems that doing good deeds can also increase Thrill Points. I'll have to act more chivalrously in the future," Mu Xiaochuan secretly calculated.
After collecting his stipend, Mu Xiaochuan hummed a tune, walking back to his residence in high spirits. This month's stipend was quite generous, enough for him to buy elixirs, talismans, or spiritual artifacts. But then he realized he didn't need to buy those anymore, so he considered splurging a little, chuckling as he thought he found a new direction.
"Hmm? Someone's following me?"
Mu Xiaochuan suddenly sensed someone sneaking behind him. He quietly released his Divine Sense to investigate and discovered that the person tailing him was none other than Tie Meng, whom he had just driven away.
"Hmph, there's a path to heaven, yet you choose not to take it; there's no door to hell, yet you barge in!" Mu Xiaochuan's lips curled into a cold smile, his eyes glinting with mischief. Recalling the last time he taught Huang Zitang a lesson, it only took two swings of his staff to end the fight, leaving him with an itch for more. He didn't expect someone to deliver themselves to him today, giving him a chance to stretch his muscles and see if he could perform the entire Dragon-Subduing Staff Technique he had learned.
"Tie Meng is only at the fifth level of Qi Refining. He probably thinks he's invincible in the Outer Sect and wants revenge," Mu Xiaochuan analyzed inwardly.
After a brief thought, he furrowed his brows, then smiled slyly, adjusting his route towards a secluded, rarely visited corner overgrown with weeds and scattered with rocks. It was a place Outer Disciples seldom ventured, perfect for settling some "personal grievances."
Seeing Mu Xiaochuan heading towards a remote area, Tie Meng couldn't help but feel pleased, thinking Mu Xiaochuan was scared and trying to escape. He grinned maliciously and quickened his pace, following closely.
"Old man, let's see where you run!" Tie Meng sneered, his eyes filled with a bloodthirsty glow.
Mu Xiaochuan stopped by a pile of rocks, turned around, and looked at Tie Meng with a smile.
"What, not running anymore?" Tie Meng panted as he caught up, a sinister grin on his face.
"Run? Why would I run?" Mu Xiaochuan smiled faintly and said, "I just thought the scenery here was nice, suitable for burying someone."
"Bury someone? Hahaha, old man, have you lost your mind?" Tie Meng laughed as if he had heard the most ridiculous joke, laughing so hard he almost choked.
"You'll soon find out if I've lost my mind." Mu Xiaochuan stopped wasting words. With a thought, a green wooden staff appeared in his hand. It was the Greenwood Spirit-Pattern Staff he had recently acquired from the Thrill System Shop.
To enjoy himself, Mu Xiaochuan deliberately suppressed his cultivation to the fifth level of Qi Refining, matching Tie Meng's level. He wanted to use Tie Meng to practice and become proficient in the newly learned Dragon-Subduing Staff Technique.
"Oh, you want to fight? Old man, do you think you can beat me with a broken stick?" Tie Meng sneered, pursing his lips.
With that, Tie Meng roared and charged at Mu Xiaochuan with his fists, which were faintly glowing with Spiritual Qi, indicating he had practiced some basic fist techniques.
Mu Xiaochuan moved gracefully, like a dragon, easily dodging Tie Meng's fierce attacks. With a flick of his wrist, the Greenwood Spirit-Pattern Staff whistled through the air, striking at Tie Meng's legs.
"Dragon-Subduing Staff Technique!"
Mu Xiaochuan shouted, unleashing the Dragon-Subduing Staff Technique he had been practicing. Although it was only at the entry level, under Mu Xiaochuan's control, it displayed impressive power. The Greenwood Spirit-Pattern Staff in his hand danced like a Flood Dragon, weaving through the air with multiple shadows. However, to extend his practice, he deliberately reduced the force of his strikes.
Tie Meng only saw a blur before feeling a sharp pain in his leg. He cried out, stumbling and almost falling.
"What speed!" Tie Meng was shocked, realizing the old man before him wasn't as simple as he had thought.
Not daring to be careless, he quickly mobilized his Spiritual Qi, infusing it into his fists, and launched another attack at Mu Xiaochuan.
Mu Xiaochuan moved like a swallow, his steps agile, effortlessly dodging each of Tie Meng's strikes. Meanwhile, the Greenwood Spirit-Pattern Staff in his hand continuously targeted various parts of Tie Meng's body.
"Thud, thud, thud!"
The dull sounds of impact echoed as Tie Meng's body quickly became covered in bruises.
"How can this old man's staff technique be so powerful?" Tie Meng gritted his teeth, enduring the pain, regretting his earlier confidence. He hadn't even touched Mu Xiaochuan's clothes, yet he had taken dozens of hits.
His strong physique and resilience were his pride, but Mu Xiaochuan's staff strikes were unforgettable, leaving him in excruciating pain.
"I can't go on like this; the pain is unbearable," Tie Meng thought anxiously.
With a furious roar, his Spiritual Qi surged like a tide, his fists glowing brightly. He mustered all his strength and punched the ground, trying to leap out of the encirclement.
"One last strike," Mu Xiaochuan's eyes flashed with determination. With a big leap, the Greenwood Spirit-Pattern Staff in his hand accelerated, whistling through the air, and struck Tie Meng's back with force.
"Crack!"
A crisp sound of bone breaking echoed as Tie Meng's spinal bone fractured, and he fell heavily to the ground.
"Spare me! Spare me! I was wrong; I'll never dare again!" Tie Meng knelt on the ground, tears and snot flowing, begging Mu Xiaochuan for mercy.
At this moment, all his previous arrogance was gone, leaving only a pitiful figure.
Mu Xiaochuan, having thoroughly enjoyed practicing the Dragon-Subduing Staff Technique, slowly lowered his hand, his gaze falling on the kneeling Tie Meng, feeling an indescribable sense of satisfaction. Just then, the system notification sounded again: "Congratulations to the host for practicing diligently and successfully teaching Tie Meng a lesson, earning 30 Thrill Points."
Haha, who would have thought Tie Meng would contribute 60 Thrill Points today? With a thought, Mu Xiaochuan opened the System Panel to check.
[Host: Mu Xiaochuan]
[Thrill Points: 185]
[Realm: Seventh Level of Qi Refining]
[Cultivation Technique: Withered Tree Revives Technique (Minor Accomplishment), Dragon-Subduing Staff Technique (Entry Level)]
[Secondary Cultivation: None]
[Spiritual Artifact: Greenwood Spirit-Pattern Staff (Mid-Grade Spiritual Artifact)]
Mu Xiaochuan was in a great mood, thinking that besides Liu Ruyan, Tie Meng had given him the most Thrill Points. Looking at Tie Meng's current sorry state, Mu Xiaochuan inexplicably felt a bit of fondness, finding the burly man not so detestable.
Tie Meng, kneeling on the ground, secretly raised his head, seeing Mu Xiaochuan staring at him with a strange expression. He was instantly alarmed, feeling a sudden tightness in his rear.
