Witcher: Master Kiliman’s Grand Ambitions-Chapter 24: Massive Soul Power Harvest

Chapter 24

Inside the wyvern nest.
Looking at the completely dead female dragon, Kiriman gently exhaled a breath of turbid air.
His back, which had been slammed against the wall from the recoil force earlier, was already injured, feeling somewhat numb with faint stabs of pain.
However, there was no time to waste. Instead of taking time to loot the nest, he quickly formed the Soul Capture seal to extract the soul of the female wyvern.
He had considerable experience with this matter. If a monster's soul wasn't captured within an hour, unless it turned into a spectral entity, that soul's spiritual power would rapidly dissipate, vanishing to who knows where.
He was quite interested to see how much soul power his first elite monster would provide.
As the Soul Capture seal activated, a soul light cluster about the size of a duck egg, carrying some struggle and reluctance, was drawn into the soul space at Kiriman's forehead.
Several seconds later, the wyvern's soul was crushed by the soul storm and integrated into his own soul, while the familiar voice of Deep Blue's system sounded in his ears.
Absorbed one resilient soul, Soul Power +125 points.
It actually gave 125 points? Three digits?
Before Kiriman could feel surprised at this explosive number,
a wave of despair, unwillingness, and destructive desire from the wyvern's final moments brutally rushed into his mind, making his head feel like it was splitting open.
Fortunately, this intense negative emotion had already been crushed into fragments by the soul storm, losing its threatening form.
Otherwise, such an impact would have caused significant damage to his willpower and spirit.
However, looking at his panel showing a total soul power of five hundred twenty-five points, even with his headache, he couldn't help but reveal a slight smile at the corner of his mouth.
So satisfying. As expected, you need to fight elite monsters and boss monsters to get real rewards.
All that exhausting work clearing trash mobs these past few days wasn't as rewarding as that single sword strike just now.
After this dragon hunt concludes, it's time for a major power-up.
Kiriman reached into his storage space and pulled out a torch, then snapped his fingers with Igni, igniting it stylishly.
But he wasn't in a hurry to process the wyvern's corpse. Instead, he approached the center of the cave and walked into the dragon nest that the female wyvern had been desperately protecting.
Within the nest constructed from piles of unknown bones and flesh, three dragon eggs with gray-brown scaly shells were huddled together, surrounded by heaps of bone fragments, feathers, pelts, and other unidentified garbage.
Looking at these three massive dragon eggs, Kiriman couldn't help but entertain some cunning thoughts.
Whether it was the female dragon he killed or the materials and dragon eggs in this nest,
they all technically belonged to the group's shared loot until distributed with the dwarf dragon hunting team.
He wasn't shortsighted. For the sake of his future reputation and maintaining friendly relations with the dwarf race, he wouldn't touch these things prematurely, planning to wait until everyone had completed the distribution.
However, some things others couldn't see or take away were special resources that belonged exclusively to him, the cheat user.
Even if he took these things, others wouldn't be able to detect it—completely undetected and unnoticed.
Looking at the three dragon eggs already in the incubation process, Kiriman's mouth twitched slightly. Then, fighting back nausea, he approached the foul-smelling dragon nest while mobilizing all the chaotic magic power within his body. He formed the Soul Capture seal with his right hand, aimed it at the dragon eggs, and activated it at full power.
Sure enough, a life force emanated from the three dragon eggs.
Three somewhat dim but still duck-egg-sized soul light clusters were pulled out of the dragon eggs by the Soul Capture seal's power, now engaged in a tug-of-war with his magical energy.
His guess was correct—dragon eggs that had been fertilized and entered the incubation state indeed had souls.
Although they were pure, blank souls like infants, they made excellent nourishment that could be directly absorbed without even needing to crush them.
After more than ten seconds, with Kiriman's magical energy operating at full capacity, he finally managed to forcibly extract those three soul light clusters just before his magic was exhausted.
Absorbed one weak but powerful soul, Soul Power +50 points.
Absorbed one weak but powerful soul, Soul Power +50 points.
Absorbed one weak but powerful soul, Soul Power +50 points.
Absorbed one weak but powerful soul, Soul Power +50 points.
Kiriman almost cheered out loud in excitement.
Moreover, the souls from the dragon eggs didn't bring him any negative mental influences whatsoever—they were practically perfect harvesting targets.
This gave him an idea.
In future monster hunts, he must try to find their nests regardless of age, especially targeting newly born monster offspring or unborn monster embryos, eliminating them root and stem, leaving none behind.
Only this way could he maximize soul power acquisition and strengthen his own capabilities.
What?
Worried this might make monsters go extinct?
What nonsense—how could one person's killing possibly exterminate all monsters on an entire planet?
Besides, if his power ever reached levels that could affect species extinction, he could just domesticate monsters, establish a monster protection association, and kill them in an organized, planned, periodic manner.
Just like harvesting leeks—wave after wave, wouldn't that work fine?
Kiriman indulged in these thoughts for a moment, but soon collected himself. He pulled out the Viper Steel Sword embedded in the female wyvern's skull, quickly ran out of the cave, and headed toward the mountainside.
Now wasn't the time for delays. The dwarf dragon hunting team was still fighting desperately with the male wyvern, and he needed to get there quickly.
This wasn't really to help the dwarves hunt the dragon—mainly because he still craved the male wyvern's soul power.
Judging by its size, its soul power definitely wouldn't be lower than the female's. It would be such a waste to let it go.
Kiriman was clever this time. Instead of descending the same path, he found the rope that the skinny dwarf had used to slide down the cliff earlier and copied the method to slide down.
Sure enough, it didn't take long to follow the traces and find where the dwarves were surrounding and killing the male wyvern.
By now, the battle here had entered its final stage. Unlike his clean instant kill of the female dragon, the dwarves were fighting a war of attrition with the male wyvern.
Dozens of crossbow bolts were embedded haphazardly all over the wyvern's body. Both eyes had long been shot blind, and deep red dragon blood mixed with dust from the ground had formed dried dark stains across its body.
On its wings, thighs, tail, neck—everywhere were wounds hacked open by dwarf battle axes, numbering at least several dozen, still oozing blood. Clearly, it was at its last gasp.
However, the dwarves' situation wasn't optimistic either.
Although there hadn't been major casualties yet, they all bore bloodstains to varying degrees, and their stamina and energy were nearly exhausted.
While victory would ultimately belong to the dwarves, whether there would be casualties remained unknown.
When Alpan, Zoltan, and others saw Kiriman approaching their location, they all showed expressions of disbelief.
They'd rather suspect he hadn't participated in the fight than believe he could reach here completely unharmed after dealing with the female dragon.
Kiriman didn't care what they thought. He made a gesture to Alpan indicating he wanted to join the battle.
The dwarf captain hesitated for a few seconds, looking at his exhausted team members, and finally nodded in agreement.
Once permission was granted, Kiriman didn't hesitate.
The strength several times greater than an ordinary human's erupted completely from within him. His muscles bulged, his physique expanded, and he leaped up like a hero from epic poetry. Raising the Viper Steel Sword in his hand, he aimed at a wound on the blind wyvern's neck and slashed down with all his might.
This was his most powerful strike after consuming potions—a full-powered, unreserved explosion of force.
With a sickening squelch—the sound of a sharp blade cutting through flesh—
the Viper Steel Sword flashed like lightning, slicing clean through the wyvern's neck.
As blood sprayed everywhere, the massive dragon head flew off accordingly, crashing to the ground. The surrounding dwarves all erupted in shouts of astonishment.
