Witcher: Master Kiliman’s Grand Ambitions-Chapter 64: Shani, Help Me Wash My Wounds

Chapter 64

Kieriman's thoughts raced through his mind.
He realized he had no way to eliminate the night attackers outside without taking damage.
Although he could indeed use the house as cover and hide here for a while, once the assassins outside completed their encirclement and heavily surrounded the exits, he would become a turtle in a jar, making it extremely difficult to break through.
Within just a few seconds, Kieriman made his decision.
He quickly walked to Shani's side, covered the young woman's mouth with his hand, and after she woke up, whispered close to her ear:
"People from the Salamander Gang are outside, they want to ambush us."
"Hide under the bed later, don't run around, wait for me to return."
Their eyes met until Shani fully woke from her sleep and nodded to show she understood, then he released his hand and quickly moved near the house's main door.
Through his soul clone's earlier observation, he noticed that among the two sorcerers, one was positioned directly facing the main door. Although about thirty meters away from the door, there weren't many obstacles between them.
Kieriman had an idea.
He waved his hand toward the area in front of the main door, and a fully loaded dwarf ballista appeared out of thin air, its sharp bolt aimed directly outside.
Through his soul double's earlier observation, he noticed that among the two sorcerers, one was positioned directly facing the main door. Although about thirty meters away from the door, there weren't many obstacles between them.
The middle-aged dwarf had said it was against regulations and would land him in jail, but once he got caught up in Gwent, he'd even be willing to bet his own underwear.
At several dozen meters distance, this was approximately the range where the dwarf ballista had maximum power and minimal deviation. Any farther and it wouldn't be as accurate.
At this range, piercing through human bodies was effortless. With specialized bolts, even heavily armored knights could be easily penetrated.
To ensure success, he entered his soul clone state again, quickly adjusting the dwarf ballista's aim.
Seeing that the enemies were about to complete their encirclement of the house,
Kieriman didn't hesitate any longer. After pulling the door open just enough for the bolt to pass through, he decisively fired the heavy dwarf crossbow.
At several dozen meters distance, this was approximately the range where the dwarf ballista had maximum power and minimal deviation. Any farther and it wouldn't be as accurate.
The metal ballista bolt shot out with a whistling sound through the air, instantly crossing the twenty-thirty meter distance through the door gap.
Under the bewildered gazes of the night attackers outside, it struck the robed sorcerer.
To ensure success, he entered his soul double state again, quickly adjusting the dwarf ballista's aim.
Under the tremendous force of the dwarf ballista, not just flesh and clothing, but even the bones in his chest offered no resistance to the bolt.
The black-robed sorcerer let out a scream.
The metal bolt instantly pierced through his chest, dragging him backward several meters mid-scream before slamming him hard onto the ground.
Blood gushed from the wound and his mouth, with damaged internal organs spilling out from the pierced injury.
An injury of this severity was impossible to heal unless a deity descended to earth.
The night attackers outside froze for a moment.
They seemed unprepared for the situation - they were supposed to be the ambushers, yet they got ambushed instead, losing one commander, a powerful sorcerer with magical abilities.
This was a ballista!
Who would bring a ballista inside a house? It made no sense at all.
However, before they could process the situation,
a tall figure holding a heavy metal shield roared as he charged out from the house, heading straight toward the other sorcerer.
His speed was incredible, his strength far beyond ordinary people. Despite facing fire from more than ten crossbows, he bulldozed through several assassins blocking his path, rapidly closing in on his target.
The sorcerer he targeted was terrified, feeling like he was being hunted by a ferocious beast, an involuntary desire to flee rising in his heart.
But as a low-level sorcerer with limited abilities, he didn't know any escape methods like teleportation. He could only suppress his fear and cast magic at the fastest speed of his life.
Only when the tall figure was less than five meters away did he manage to conjure a corrosion spell capable of dissolving metal, which struck the heavy shield in the opponent's hands.
Sizzle sizzle!
The corrosion spell worked quite effectively. The heavy metal shield developed several large holes where it melted upon contact with the magic.
However, the distance between them was too short now. The tall figure with beast-like vertical pupils directly discarded his shield, a metal longsword appearing in his hands out of thin air, then he swung a fierce blade light at him.
Slice!
The last sorcerer didn't even have time to scream before being split in half from top to bottom by this blade light, blood and internal organs spilling all over the ground.
Kieriman let out a heavy breath, then as he turned around, added another Quen shield to himself.
Without this magical shield earlier, his arm might have been corroded by the enemy's magic.
Fortunately, the two most threatening enemies were now eliminated. The remaining assassins were just ordinary people who would at most cause him some minor flesh wounds.
He casually pulled two Beehive Bombs from his storage space, gathered magic power in his left hand, then threw both bombs into the crowd. Using the gushing Igni flames, he ignited the bombs along with the enemies.
Boom! Boom!
The bombs worth forty Orens exploded with deafening roars!
Although they didn't cause many casualties, they severely damaged enemy morale, destroyed their encirclement intentions, and greatly reduced the combat effectiveness of these night attackers.
Afterward, the witcher showed no mercy. Withstanding the constant crossbow fire from enemies, he forcefully charged into the crowd, executing his Wolf School Swordsmanship.
Wolf School techniques were most suitable for dealing with groups, though unfortunately his current level wasn't high enough to learn the most essential Wolf School sword dance.
Otherwise, these ordinary people without armor would be like cutting melons and vegetables - they wouldn't be able to withstand more than a few strikes.
Even so,
risking minor injuries, employing injury-for-lethal-blow tactics, and utilizing various sign effects, Kieriman quickly killed more than half of the night attackers.
He even completely eliminated this group of night attackers before they could develop thoughts of collapse and escape.
After the battle ended, Kieriman let out a heavy breath, then spent twenty soul points to heal his wounds.
These Salamander Gang assassins were probably elite members of the gang;
otherwise they wouldn't have had such courage to fight to the death.
Otherwise they would have scattered and fled like those ordinary members who ran away after half were killed earlier.
The witcher mentally noted a heavy debt against the Salamander Gang, planning to eliminate these bastards completely once he found their hideout.
He used the Soul Absorption sign to absorb all approximately twenty human souls from the battlefield into his soul space, then collected all their bodies and equipment into his storage space.
After his soul ascended, not only could his storage space hold more, but his soul space could also accommodate more souls - handling twenty souls at once was no problem.
After his cleanup, the originally corpse-strewn battlefield with severed limbs everywhere was surprisingly completely cleared.
Kieriman looked around and noticed some Murkywater Village villagers peeking from their rooms.
But he didn't pay them attention, instead pushing the door open and walking back into his house.
Shani, who had been waiting anxiously there, seeing him return safely, couldn't help but rush forward and lean against his chest.
Then, under the strong insistence of this medical student young woman, the witcher took off his upper garment, revealing his already completely healed strong body. Only after proving he wasn't injured at all did the young woman finally relax.
Looking at the young woman with slightly reddened eyes, touching her rising chest with a worried yet admiring adorable expression,
Kieriman suddenly had an idea and showed a somewhat pained expression, saying:
"Ouch! Shani."
"I think I got injured in my lower body. How about you prepare some hot water and help me wash the wound?"
After speaking, before the young woman could react, he took off his pants too.
