Wizard: Starting With Synthesized Gems-Chapter 102: Obtaining the Advanced Meditation Method

Chapter 102

Ten days later.
In the First Circle wizard area of Lilith's Cottage, in Senior Advisor Francis's office, Locke entered.
The academy's organizational structure seemed relatively flat, but Lilith's Cottage had seven Senior Advisors internally. These seven Senior Advisors were respectively responsible for different formal wizards and their students, as well as various departments and public facilities within Lilith's Cottage.
The Dean and Vice Dean of Lilith's Cottage were responsible for these seven Senior Advisors.
In a sense, Senior Advisor Francis was one of the upper echelons of Lilith's Cottage.
Authorizing advanced meditation methods required the signed consent of all Senior Advisors of Lilith's Cottage and confirmation from at least one Dean.
Senior Advisor Francis looked up at Locke. In Locke's eyes, he was an elderly man with a white beard wearing a white wizard robe and a black wizard hat, with an amiable smile. However, his gaze was somewhat sharp, and for a moment seemed to be sizing him up, but before Locke could confirm this, that sharp gaze transformed into a gentle smile.
Locke remained vigilant in his heart, then bowed to Francis, saying, "Hello, Dean Francis."
"I am Locke Augustine."
"Teacher Sophia asked me to come collect the advanced meditation method."
Senior Advisor Francis opened his right palm and pointed toward the seat, "Sit."
After Locke sat down, he smiled, "This is our first meeting, isn't it? Locke, has your life at our Lilith's Cottage been quite pleasant?"
Locke was stunned for a moment, not expecting this academy high-ranking official to suddenly ask him this question. He remained cautious, saying, "Yes, Lilith's Cottage possesses vast magical materials, which has allowed me to progress rapidly."
Francis squinted his eyes, "No need to be so cautious. You are an outstanding student of our academy, just like your teacher Witch Sophia, who was also an outstanding student from our academy."
"So conversing with you truly makes me happy."
"Time is truly wonderful. The mysteries of time are worth each of us exploring carefully. When I joined Lilith's Cottage, I was just like you and Witch Sophia, merely an ordinary little wizard apprentice. Then I gradually became a wizard mentor here, and later became a dean and Senior Advisor."
Francis's eyes crinkled slightly. "Sitting in this office, watching you new students gradually grow and flourish like magical plants, batch after batch becoming accomplished. This feeling is truly blissful."
Francis placed a crystal orb in front of Locke. "Augustine, you can consider the academy as home. The academy will always be one of your fallback options."
"Alright. This is the advanced meditation method. The dissemination of advanced meditation methods is restricted by the White Wizard Association's non-proliferation agreement, so it cannot be recorded in magic books. It can only use the special enchanted First Circle spell [Bloodline Inheritance] to bypass linguistic forms and transmit directly into your mind."
Locke understood. As long as it bypassed linguistic forms, it would be very difficult for him to translate it into words. This meditation method's operating principles and related knowledge would become something like instinct.
No wonder it cost him a fifty thousand magic stone loan to obtain this advanced meditation method, directly using a First Circle Enchantment School spell to make him learn it.
Senior Advisor Francis said, "By the way, you also need to sign a non-proliferation agreement. Although I trust you very much and don't want to make this so formal, this is the White Wizard Association's regulation."
Locke glanced over the agreement, his eyelid twitching slightly. The agreement's contents were harsh, with all the complex clauses aimed at preventing first-class wizard apprentices from casually spreading advanced meditation methods externally.
Once this was violated, it seemed one would face pursuit by the entire White Wizard Association.
Equivalent to social death.
Senior Advisor Francis smiled, "Actually, it's not a big deal. The First Circle enchantment spell [Bloodline Inheritance] has many built-in ways to prevent wizards from externally spreading advanced meditation methods."
"In theory, even if you wanted to actively spread it, you wouldn't be able to."
Senior Advisor Francis explained thoughtfully, "Well, for example, even if you spent a lot of time converting that part of knowledge about the advanced meditation method in your mind into corresponding text, as long as you want to speak it out or write it down, the correspondence between that knowledge and text and language would automatically cancel."
Locke, following Francis's attitude, deliberately appeared quite amazed in front of him, "Dean, this is too magical."
Francis showed a satisfied smile. "I just like young people like you."
"Of course it's magical. After all, it's First Circle magic. Enchantment School spells can often change the personal will of those being cast upon, or their sensory perceptions."
Locke showed confusion. "If that's the case, then Enchantment School and Illusion School seem to have some overlapping spells, Dean."
Francis patiently explained, "That's true, but their mechanisms and principles are different. Illusion School spells interfere with the mind, soul, and mental strength on three levels. Enchantment School changes the target's state through enchantment and other means."
"Therefore, when we encounter these two types of wizard enemies, our countermeasures should also be different." Francis said gently, "Speaking of which, Lilith's Cottage's enchantment studies are quite good. The illusion school's magical categories are somewhat weaker. That magical category only has one wizard mentor, and the wizard apprentices' aptitudes are mostly around Level 2."
"The admission requirements are relatively low."
Locke said, "I see. Dean."
Locke signed the agreement, then placed his palm on the crystal orb. Instantly, a large amount of knowledge was transmitted into his mind, knowledge from the advanced meditation method.
After 5 seconds, the originally light purple crystal orb turned completely blank.
Locke bowed to Senior Advisor Francis. "I have obtained the advanced meditation method. Dean, I'll take my leave first."
He didn't know why, but although Francis in front of him was very easy to talk to, almost the most approachable formal wizard besides Witch Sophia, Locke felt very uncomfortable and awkward staying with him.
It was as if he was being watched by some kind of predator.
Locke looked up and met Senior Advisor Francis's smiling eyes. Francis nodded, and then he turned and left the office.
But the moment Locke closed the office door, the smile on Francis's face immediately disappeared. He instead took out Locke's file from his drawer and began reading it.
Francis's expression didn't look very good. "A serious work mistake. I never thought such a mistake would happen to me."
"From his progress speed, Locke Augustine's true aptitude should only be slightly inferior to an Child of Elements. I just don't know if his subsequent growth will continue to be this rapid. Some special talents can only make people grow rapidly during certain periods."
Francis frowned. "Allowing a student of this aptitude to be assigned to a formal wizard who hasn't signed a contract with the academy is a very serious mistake."
"This will affect the student's ability to establish emotional connections with Lilith's Cottage academy itself." Francis thought, "Students must establish certain feelings with Lilith's Cottage so that they will be loyal to the academy."
"He's already a first-class wizard apprentice. It's somewhat troublesome to establish this now." Francis considered, "But it's not impossible. He needs to increase emotional exchanges with other first-class wizard apprentices in the academy."
"What's relatively good is that he seems to have some relationship with Wizard Urien Rich. This time, Wizard Urien Rich rarely spoke up for him. Doesn't that guy only care about his grandson?"
Francis muttered, "The reason he joined Lilith's Cottage back then was because I told him that Lilith's Cottage was one of the best potion studies wizard organizations in the southeastern quadrant, most suitable for his grandson's convalescence."
