Wizard: Starting With Synthesized Gems-Chapter 166: Purchasing Beholder Potion and Fission Potion

Chapter 166

Locke signed a contract with Andrew and the others. As long as he completed deliveries, he could receive payment at 15 magic stones per bottle.
Because Memory Ointment had an exceptionally long shelf life, maintaining its efficacy even after five or six years of storage, Andrew's side would accept however much he could provide, with no limits.
He had already anticipated that this potion would become explosively popular in Chimera Market.
The transaction between Locke and them was mutually beneficial.
Andrew and Axi could receive praise from Lady Irina because of this, while Locke could help his personal pharmaceutical laboratory get through the first and most troublesome period of having no reputation.
Andrew and Axi personally escorted Locke outside the shop. Andrew even shook hands with Locke to express his gratitude, "Locke, thank you. It was my honor to form a team with you at the Healing Hand Treatment Center."
"In the future, if you have any new potions, you can come find me. Our Owl Cauldron Potion Shop is very interested in your potions."
Locke nodded slightly, "Alright, I need to visit the direct store of the potion auction house in the market, Lilith’s Cottage Potion Shop."
That shop was actually directly operated by the academy's upper management.
Locke wanted to purchase potions that could further increase his mana advancement speed.
So he definitely couldn't go to ordinary potion shops, but had to go to the academy-operated shop directly affiliated with the potion auction house.
Andrew and Axi didn't understand that Locke was going to purchase large quantities of magical resources to continue pushing his mana levels.
Therefore, they simply said goodbye to Locke.
Actually, both of them had level 5 aptitude. Andrew's aptitude was slightly better than Axi's.
Andrew's current mana should be approaching five hundred, slightly stronger than his own, while Axi's mana was in the low four hundreds, slightly weaker than his own but both of them had been first-class wizard apprentices for ten years already.
They had missed the opportunity to use massive magical resources during the beginner benefit period to rapidly increase their mana by over two hundred to reach the four hundred range.
Similarly, due to lack of magical resources, their meditation speed for improving mana was much slower than Locke's current rate.
First-class wizard apprentices of their tier generally either bought more energy potions monthly or more supporting materials for meditation methods, rarely able to purchase both types of resources simultaneously.
Because they didn't have the means.
They certainly didn't have the means to consume full doses of Weeping Blood Nightshade Potion and Stardust Tears Potion  every month.
Even though Andrew and Axi both worked two jobs daily, their magic stone income wasn't sufficient to support the luxurious usage that Locke enjoyed.
Moreover, they had to set aside magic stones for monthly research expenses, and their research results might not convert to magic stone income as quickly as Locke's, often becoming sunk costs.
It could be said that the lives of first-class wizard apprentices, in the eyes of second-class and third-class wizard apprentices, were already very good, even enviable but whether life was good or difficult was something only the individuals themselves knew.
Inside Lilith’s Cottage Potion Shop, Locke entered and immediately found a first-class wizard apprentice assistant manager, stating, "I want to purchase Beholder Potion and Fission Potion."
Behind the counter, the first-class wizard apprentice assistant manager looked at Locke with surprise.
Beholder Potion and Fission Potion were quite valuable.
The reason Locke wasn't purchasing the Tartarus Cave Worm Spinal Fluid that dwarf scholar Orr had recommended was that it was truly too expensive.
One gram cost 1,200 magic stones, equivalent to a month's salary for an ordinary first-class wizard apprentice who had passed the breeder examination.
Even his current self couldn't afford it.
The first-class wizard apprentice assistant manager said to Locke, "Breeder sir, how many bottles of Beholder Potion and how many bottles of Fission Potion would you like to purchase?"
"Beholder Potion is 300 magic stones per bottle, Fission Potion is 200 magic stones per bottle."
Locke thought briefly. This was his first time purchasing these potions, and he didn't yet know the effects or severity of side effects of these two potions, so he should be cautious and purchase smaller quantities.
"Give me three bottles of each potion."
That would be fifteen hundred magic stones.
Also quite a large expense.
After hearing this, the first-class wizard apprentice assistant manager said somewhat cautiously, "Breeder sir, it's not about the money. First, fifteen hundred magic stones is quite a large transaction, enough to fund a substantial experiment."
"But most importantly, both Beholder Potion and Fission Potion have significant side effects. If they were any stronger, they could even enter the prohibited drug list."
"The safe dosage for Beholder Potion is one bottle within three months. The safe dosage for Fission Potion requires your body to have sufficient strength, otherwise just one bottle would be more than your body could handle."
She hesitated, "Although if taken according to safe dosages, their effects would be quite mild, basically no one takes them according to safe dosages."
"But I still recommend purchasing small quantities and using them carefully."
The first-class wizard apprentice assistant manager continued, "To improve mana, you still need to take time and slowly meditate."
"I've seen too many people delay their futures by overdosing on these two potions. I suggest this junior be cautious in their use."
Locke nodded slightly, "I completely agree. I'm just conducting experiments and happen to need relatively large quantities of these two potions. They're not all for my personal use."
The assistant manager breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good then."
Locke couldn't explain to her that he had the Deep Purple Jade that could neutralize potion toxicity, so he wanted to try whether he could consume large quantities of these two potions.
The assistant manager said, "Both of these potions are scarce products. You can pay first, then give me an address, and I'll personally deliver the potions to you."
Locke didn't hesitate and immediately paid, writing down his address.
Lilith’s Cottage Potion Shop was a store directly operated by the academy's upper management, representing Lilith’s Cottage's reputation, with many customers from the outside wizard community.
There was no possibility of defaulting on payments or selling defective products. This was one of Lilith’s Cottage's most important assets.
The head manager of this potion shop was even an official wizard, though they were only nominally in charge and wouldn't actually come here.
The assistant manager looked at the delivery address and paused slightly, "Breeder sir, are you a student of Lady Sophia?"
Locke looked at her puzzledly, "What's wrong?"
The assistant manager shook her head slightly and smiled, "Nothing really, it's just that Lady Sophia used to come to our shop frequently. During her apprentice period, she sold quite a few products from her personal laboratory in our shop."
"So I have a deep impression. Later when she became an official wizard, sigh, she rarely showed up here anymore."
Assistant manager Julie continued to advise Locke with some concern, "Junior, you must not overdose on Beholder Potion. Before taking Fission Potion, you should also experiment on magical creatures first."
"Quite a few first-class wizard apprentices have died from the side effects of these two potions. Of course, you're also a potion master assistant, so I believe you understand this yourself."
Locke nodded slightly at her, "Alright, thank you for the reminder, Senior Julie."
