Wizard: Starting With Synthesized Gems-Chapter 188: Obtaining an Outstanding Apprentice Position

Chapter 188

Lilith's Cottage, first floor of the public library.
The dwarf scholar Orr's eyes immediately lit up when he saw Locke enter the library. He waved his short little arms vigorously, saying, "Locke breeder, congratulations! Among the six articles you previously published in the public library, four were rated as B-grade, and two were rated as A-grade."
"This is the rating reply letter that should have been sent to you originally, but who would have thought that today, today you came here yourself."
Locke nodded, this result was about what he expected, within his expectations. "Which two articles were rated as A-grade?"
The dwarf scholar Orr smiled, saying, "It's your article about using grafting cultivation methods to graft magical vines and defensive magical plants, improving the success rate of defensive magical plants gaining magical counterattack abilities, which was evaluated with 80 points."
"Currently within a week, it has already been borrowed more than twenty times."
"You're truly accomplished at such a young age, managing to produce such a high-quality article in such a short time."
Locke raised his eyebrows at this. There were many breeders within Lilith's Cottage, so it was perfectly normal for his article to attract the interest of numerous breeders, leading to citations and reading.
The dwarf scholar Orr continued, "The other A-grade article is the one you wrote about research summaries on defensive magical plants against defensive curse magic. The general scholars unanimously believe that although you haven't yet published the specific cultivation methods for Jade Iris Lichen, the cultivation overview of this type of magical plant in this article is extremely valuable."
"Therefore, they gave it an 80-point evaluation. These two articles both represent substantial breakthroughs in existing theory and technology."
"Currently this article has been borrowed more than thirty times within this week."
The dwarf scholar Orr praised, "Locke breeder, the borrowing volume of these two articles of yours is quite noteworthy even among A-grade articles."
Locke nodded slightly. "This isn't surprising. These two articles both focus on technical fields that Lilith's Cottage needs recently. I think some of the people borrowing them are even my colleagues at the treatment center."
It was somewhat regrettable that the two articles rated as A-grade were both in the breeder field.
The two articles he had previously published in the potion studies field were only rated as B-grade.
However, this wasn't surprising either.
His investment in the breeder field indeed far exceeded his investment in potion studies. Currently in the potion studies field, he was just getting started.
Locke handed over five articles he had recently written, plus two articles written by Andrew and Axi respectively, to the dwarf scholar Orr.
The dwarf scholar Orr looked puzzled. "These seven articles? Locke breeder, are you publishing articles again? And seven at once?"
Locke shook his head slightly. "Only five were written by me. The other two were written by my friends, Andrew and Axi. Their full names are at the end of the articles. Currently we form a team at the Healing Hand Treatment Center."
"These seven are all just about the treatment situations of various curse victims using Bear Spirit Jade Bile Detoxification Potion. The five I wrote are summary s on short-term treatment effects for patients with Consciousness Splitting Curse, Multiple Self Curse, Mania Curse, Anxiety Curse, and Depression Curse respectively."
"What my friends wrote, Andrew wrote about the short-term treatment effect summary of Bear Spirit Jade Bile Detoxification Potion on Thousand Sores Curse patients, and Axi wrote about the short-term treatment effect summary of Bear Spirit Bile Detoxification Potion on Bleeding Curse patients."
The dwarf scholar Orr nodded slightly. "So you essentially designed the research framework and research materials for your colleagues."
"Your colleagues are basically just your assistants. They just followed you to produce two articles, likely of B-grade quality. Their luck is really quite good."
"It's just a pity that the southeastern quadrant, to prevent disputes between wizard mentors and wizard apprentices over the rights to article author names, banned joint authorship one hundred and fifty years ago. Otherwise, your name should have been listed before both of theirs."
Locke nodded slightly. Some things he simply couldn't handle alone, so it was better to have his friends help him, which also allowed for benefit exchange and helped him win them over.
He didn't particularly care about these summary and result transformation articles. In the future, he could have as many as he wanted.
After completing short-term treatment data summaries, he could also do long-term treatment data summaries. The articles he could publish were simply numerous.
Moreover, even if Andrew and Axi published such articles, anyone with discerning eyes would immediately understand what was really going on.
After all, he was the inventor of Jade Iris Lichen and Bear Spirit Jade Bile Detoxification Potion.
The two of them were essentially just his assistants.
As he spoke with Locke, the dwarf scholar Orr quickly flipped through these seven articles. He was indeed worthy of being a general scholar whose professional skill was reading books.
Orr's reading speed was extremely fast. With just a few glances, he quickly captured the key points in these seven articles.
"A single potion can actually have good therapeutic effects on so many curses, and the post-cure effects are extremely good." The dwarf scholar Orr exclaimed in amazement. "This is the broad-spectrum magical resistance you wrote about in that article you sent last time, isn't it?"
"This potion, combined with the magical pressure soul structure of a first-class wizard apprentice, produces magical resistance sufficient to defend against most curse magic."
The dwarf scholar Orr exclaimed in amazement. "Locke breeder, at your age, you can actually achieve such results."
Locke modestly said, "This potion hasn't passed phase three trials yet and hasn't obtained a production license."
"There's still a long way to go before mass production."
Locke also attached an application form. "This is an application for an excellent project I want to apply for from the academy's apprentice fund."
"I want to establish a hundred-acre Jade Iris Lichen magical field and hope to receive academy funding."
The dwarf scholar Orr smiled. "An excellent project like yours, if it still can't get academy funding, that would really be unreasonable."
"Hmm? In this project application, you also have an additional request for a medium-scale botanical garden? That's indeed somewhat difficult. Medium-scale botanical gardens have always been in a state where demand exceeds supply."
The dwarf scholar Orr said, "Alright, Locke breeder, I will send up your project application. At the same time, there's another matter I need to inform you about."
Locke showed a puzzled expression. "Is there something else?"
The dwarf scholar Orr indicated, "It's about title conferment."
He took out an exquisite box inlaid with gems. After opening it, he took out a silver badge from inside. This silver badge had extremely complex and gorgeous patterns and was shaped like a shield.
"Locke breeder, since you became a first-class wizard apprentice and consecutively published six B-grade articles and two A-grade articles within one year, the academy leadership has awarded you the title of Outstanding Apprentice."
"This is an achievement that can only be reached by publishing five B-grade articles and one A-grade article within a specific time limit."
"This badge can represent your honor and also comes with related rewards."
"This is the reward item list related to Outstanding Apprentice. You may choose two items from it as your reward."
Locke received the list and badge, pinned the badge to himself, then looked at the so-called reward item list.
He discovered that the items on this list were all very high-grade, not only expensive but also difficult to purchase at Chimera Trading Market.
The items listed on this reward list, not counting opportunities to enter secret realms, were far higher grade than the previous first-class wizard apprentice reward items.
Locke even saw several very rare magical plants on it.
"Withering Flower seeds, this is indeed rare. It's said that when this type of seed is planted on a corpse, it will grow into a Tongue-Reading Flower with a red soft tongue that can answer three questions related to the corpse's life in the month before death."
"However, I don't really need seeds of this rare magical plant."
"I need to increase my combat power."
He had the knowledge inheritance of an archaeologist.
Locke looked at the list again and discovered another rare magical plant. "Rapid-Fire Peas."
