Chapter 388: Chapter 387, Killing the People from Luo Lake Gang_1
Ba Jie was puzzled. What kind of Skill was this? Was he even able to sense killing intent?
Killing intent was not a Skill, nor was it a form of Martial Arts, but the sole Skill Lin Yangze taught him.
Jiang Chen had the Perception Skill, which allowed him to sense the slightest movements around him, even heartbeats, but [Heart Realm] was different—it could sense even the subtleties of someone’s movements and expression. It could also sense danger, various emotions, and the feeling of murderous intent.
Ba Jie pondered in silence.
Without solid evidence, Ba Jie could not rashly act.
As Ba Jie was deeply in thought, snow blanketed everything in white. Dozens of figures appeared on the opposite side, each holding Thin Swords and dressed in black robes. Leading them was a middle-aged man, sturdy and robust, with powerful True Qi coursing within him. This man clenched his fists with both hands and did not use a Weapon.
"It’s indeed the experts from the Luo Lake Gang."
"They truly intend to attack our village."
"Someone must have carelessly leaked the information."
"What’s the point of considering that now? All we need to do is hold them off until the Loyal Justice Association’s experts come to our aid."
"I’m afraid we won’t last until the Loyal Justice Association’s experts arrive; by then, we’ll all be dead."
Several Wanderers showed looks of concern. In the world of freedom, they had all heard of the Luo Lake Gang, which was originally just a rabble. But then, a master had emerged from them, and that person was Zhou Zun. This man was completely different from other masters—he solely relied on his bare palms for defense.
In the Wanderers’ world, there were many types of Martial Arts. Most Martial Arts involved the use of swords, particularly Thin Swords, to achieve remarkable effects. However, a few individuals did not use swords but chose blades, staffs, or rods instead. Even fighting without a Weapon was a possibility.
Heroes needed Weapons, strengthened with powerful Attributes, to exert tremendous Attack Power. But Wanderers were different. Even without Weapons, Wanderers could be incredibly powerful, as they completely relied on the True Qi within themselves. The stronger the True Qi, the greater their Attack Power. This was the difference between Heroes and Wanderers.
Wanderers who didn’t use Weapons were either fools or among the highest echelon of experts, and clearly, the man leading the group before them was the latter.
Ba Jie’s eyebrows furrowed deeply. "Brother Chen Jinnan, the middle-aged man leading them is Zhou Zun. Although I’ve never met him, I’ve heard of his legendary name, and his bare palms are extremely formidable."
"You might not understand Wanderers; to them, Weapons are merely an auxiliary tool, not always that important."
Jiang Chen said, "I understand that, and I also know that the great power of Wanderers originates from the True Qi inside them. Evidently, the middle-aged man before us must be a warrior from the Ancient Martial Faction."
Ba Jie nodded. He knew Jiang Chen was formidable, but so were the Wanderers from the Ancient Martial Faction.
Wanderers were divided into three factions: Ancient Martial Faction, Modern Faction, and Near-Martial Faction.
Ancient Martial Faction: They practiced powerful Martial Arts and aimed to cultivate each to its highest level. If a form of Martial Arts had nine stages, then the Ancient Martial Faction would strive to reach the very top.
Similar to a Hero’s Skills, each was divided into several levels, some ranging from one to nine. While an upgrade to Level One offered a limited increase in Attack Power, an upgrade to Level Nine maximized it. Jiang Chen’s Wan Jian Gui Clan, for instance, had reached the highest level, Upgraded to the point where it could no longer advance.
The Modern Faction was different. They would cultivate a Martial Art to the first level, just enough to grasp it. Then, they focused on enhancing the cohesion of their Martial Arts, condensing the normally widespread Sword Qi to the size of a wrist. This was a hallmark of the Modern Faction’s sword technique.
The Near-Martial Faction was yet again distinct, having absorbed the essence of both Ancient Martial and Modern Factions, enhancing both Ancient Martial Skills and their cohesion.
Zhou Zun looked at Ba Jie and the others with a cold gaze. He had sent his third-ranking Li Yang as the vanguard to wait for the right moment to strike, not anticipating that Li Yang’s group of a dozen would fall and perish.
Zhou Zun’s cold gaze swept across them before fixing on Ba Jie. "Give me a bottle of Curse-lifting Potion. I do not ask for much."
"Luo Lake Gang’s Zhou Zun, have you forgotten our identity?" Ba Jie retorted.
"The Loyal Justice Association, the Alliance’s foremost organization," Zhou Zun sneered. "Unfortunately, none of your experts are here. I could very well kill all of you and steal the Potions you carry."
Clearly, Ba Jie’s identity made them wary. He was not only a member of the Loyal Justice Association but also had seven fellow disciples, each a legendary figure. Furthermore, his master was Bai Yun, an esteemed Wanderer expert. It wasn’t just Zhou Zun—be it a hundred Zhou Zuns, none could be Bai Yun’s match.
Zhou Zun merely needed the Potion and did not wish to fight.
"Then let’s fight," Ba Jie declared.
Zhou Zun’s eyebrows raised as the True Qi inside his body coursed.
Jiang Chen stepped forward. "This person is a master. I should be the one to confront him."
Ba Jie nodded in agreement.
Once, Jiang Chen had been but a modest Swordsman; now, however, he had far surpassed Ba Jie.
Jiang Chen first activated the Tian Gang Sword Body, shrouding his entire body with a yellow Magic Shield.
Zhou Zun said, "A Hero?"
"Yes."
"This is an internal matter for us Wanderers. You, as a Hero, should not intervene."
"Ba Jie is a friend of mine."
With a thought, Jiang Chen willed six thousand Sword Qi to whirl and dance in the air.
"What Skill is this?"
"Could this be Sword Qi?"
"That’s impossible! How could a Hero use our Sword Qi? This isn’t True Qi!"
"I remember on the Continent of All-Gods there is one profession called Swordsman."
"Could it be that he is a Swordsman?"
Zhou Zun watched the Sword Qi, his brow furrowed. He knew quite a bit about the Heroes of the Continent of All-Gods—Magicians, Archers, and warriors—but he couldn’t make sense of Jiang Chen standing before him. He was neither a Magician nor an Archer. Very much like a Wanderer’s Sword Qi.
Zhou Zun waved his hand, ordering the two beside him to rush towards Jiang Chen to test his actual strength.
Watching the two men in black rush over, Jiang Chen’s thoughts shifted. A flash of white light, and in an instant, he pierced through both men’s chests, killing them with one blow...
Zhou Zun was startled.
Fast, fierce, accurate...
This was simply more formidable than any Wanderer.
At that moment, a Sword Qi surged toward Zhou Zun, whose reaction was incredibly swift. As the True Qi within him dispersed, the Sword Qi halted three inches from Zhou Zun.
This guy is almost at the Sixth-stage,
Jiang Chen thought in surprise.
His Sword Qi spun rapidly, attempting to use the rotating Sword Qi to break through the enemy’s Qi field. But still, the Sword Qi remained three inches away.
No progress at all.
"Your attack is ineffective against me," Zhou Zun stated.
"Is that so?" Jiang Chen replied. "I just deployed a single Sword Qi. I forgot to tell you, I have six thousand Sword Qi around me. Let’s see how many you can withstand."
The six thousand Sword Qi rushed in swiftly from all directions, enveloping Zhou Zun.
Zhou Zun’s complexion shifted dramatically. "Attack now! Kill him immediately!"
"If you want to kill my friend, you’ll have to get past me first," Ba Jie declared, leading a dozen people to quickly strike out.
There was no need for Ba Jie and the others to act against these small fries; Jiang Chen alone could kill them all, dividing a hundred Sword Qi for a hundred people.
WHOOSH.
Wherever it passed, it swiftly pierced through the enemies’ chests, skulls, necks...
Not everyone was a master.
And there was only one master among them.
In an instant, all the members of the Luo Lake Gang that Zhou Zun had brought fell.
Zhou Zun flew into a rage. "Damn it! What profession are you, exactly?"
"I am a Swordsman."
The six thousand Sword Qi rapidly penetrated Zhou Zun’s thighs and arms, and pierced through his abdomen.
Screams erupted...
