Worldwide Class Change: An Invincible Swordsman-Chapter 417 - 416, Chased by the Prosecutor _1

Chapter 417

Chapter 417: Chapter 416, Chased by the Prosecutor _1
Delia: "Don’t even think about hiding. You can’t imagine the extent of a Prosecutor’s power. As long as you are a Hero of the Alliance of All-Gods, the Prosecutor will find you."
Jiang Chen: "Why?"
Delia: "My brother is a Prosecutor. He told me that Prosecutors have a Tracking Mirror that can locate you. As long as you’re in the same world, no matter how well you hide, you will be found."
Delia: "Your Badge is the locator."
Jiang Chen saw this and was instantly chagrined.
The Badge is a locator? This is just... damn it.
Jiang Chen quickly contacted Bartley.
Bartley: "Big Bro, what’s up? Need me for something?"
Jiang Chen: "You’re a Prosecutor, right? Do you know about the Tracking Mirror?"
Bartley: "Big Bro, you haven’t been targeted by a Prosecutor, have you? That’s troublesome. As a Prosecutor, I must tell you, such a thing does indeed exist. No enemy targeted by a Prosecutor can escape."
Jiang Chen: "Is there a way to hide from it?"
Bartley: "It’s impossible to hide unless you give up your Badge voluntarily."
Jiang Chen: "There’s really no other way?"
Bartley: "There’s no way. Our purpose is to find traitors to the Continent of All-Gods. Once someone betrays the Continent of All-Gods, we use these powers to track down and eliminate our enemies."
Bartley: "Unless you return to the territory of the Continent of All-Gods, Prosecutors dare not act. If they do, they will be impeached, stripped of their Prosecutor status, and executed."
Bartley: "A Prosecutor has significant authority, but they can’t lay a hand on a Hero unless it’s in a world outside the Continent of All-Gods."
Jiang Chen: "Got it."
Bartley: "Wait for me; I’ll come help you."
Jiang Chen: "How can you help?"
Bartley: "I’m also a Prosecutor. We can’t harm each other. I’ll block for you. Then you just run away and go back to the Continent of All-Gods."
Bartley: "As long as you’re not wanted by the Continent of All-Gods, he won’t dare to act. By the way, how did you get into trouble with a Prosecutor?"
Jiang Chen: "I killed someone from the Adolf Clan?"
Bartley: "What? The Adolf Clan? That’s a very powerful Clan with a Demigod in their ranks. But don’t worry; what’s done is done. People die in the wilderness or on the battlefield all the time. Even a Prosecutor wouldn’t press charges for that."
Jiang Chen: "Forget it, I’ll figure it out myself."
Bartley: "You’re really fast. When he catches up to you, just take off. Don’t try to face him head-on; he’s immune to damage."
Jiang Chen: "I know."
Jiang Chen turned off the communicator. "You guys hide here; the Prosecutor is after me. I’ll handle him. Don’t come out until I contact you again."
Everyone looked somber, knowing the danger of this situation.
Against a Prosecutor, they were powerless.
"We’ll go together."
"We can’t let you go alone. If it comes to it, we’ll fight!"
Everyone was furious.
Alice stayed silent.
Fight? How? The Prosecutor is immune to all damage; it’s impossible to hurt them.
Jiang Qiu said, "We are of the Ancient Class. Perhaps their damage immunity doesn’t apply to us."
Jiang Chen shook his head. "Even if you are of the Ancient Class, it remains the same. You’re Heroes from the Continent of All-Gods, and that’s something you can’t change."
Jiang Chen saw their worry and said with a smile, "Relax. Don’t you know how fast I am? No matter how fast he is, he can’t outspeed me. When the time comes, I’ll lead him on a merry chase, take a trip around the Giant Tribe City. I believe the Giant Tribe will definitely be able to take him down."
"Besides, you’re too slow. If you run into someone like a Prosecutor, it’s certain death for you."
"I’m different; I’m fast. If we all go out together, you’ll just become a burden to me."
The others looked indignant, especially when he called them a "burden."
They glared fiercely at Jiang Chen.
Who are you calling a burden! Who’s the real dead weight here?
Alice agreed, "Jiang Chen is right. If we follow him, we’ll only be a burden. He’s very fast and can use the Giant World to take down the Prosecutor."
"Don’t blindly rush to help. Doing so would only put us in danger."
Angelina looked at Jiang Chen, exceptionally worried for his safety. "Be careful," she urged.
"It’s nothing, just a Prosecutor. Watch how I take him down."
Jiang Chen vanished in a flash, leaving the cave. He continued to run, searching for cities, preparing to face the approaching Prosecutor.
Unless it’s absolutely necessary, I don’t want to act. What if I kill the Prosecutor and get branded with a red name? What then? After all, I don’t even know if such rules exist.
Jiang Chen took out his communicator to contact Bartley and asked his question directly.
Jiang Chen: "If I kill a Prosecutor, will I be wanted?"
Bartley: "Big Bro, Prosecutors are immune to damage. It’s impossible to kill them. Don’t you know that?"
Jiang Chen: "I know. I’m just speaking hypothetically. As a Prosecutor, shouldn’t you know this?"
Bartley: "Well... let me check some records and see if there are any similar cases."
「An hour later...」
Bartley replied.
Bartley: "There was a case once where a Hero killed a Prosecutor, and nothing happened to him. If he hadn’t gotten drunk and blabbed, no one would have ever known he killed a Prosecutor."
Jiang Chen: "How was the Prosecutor killed?"
Bartley: "The Prosecutor was gravely injured, and then the Hero finished him off. You see, a Prosecutor is a special status bestowed by the Continent of All-Gods. This status grants them immunity to damage inflicted by Heroes. However, when facing monsters from other factions, a Prosecutor is not immune to damage.
A Hero’s Attack Power comes from Skills, but Skills are ineffective against Prosecutors. Therefore, Heroes cannot attack Prosecutors with Skills. This doesn’t mean they can’t harm them, though. If a knife is drawn across a Prosecutor’s throat—without using any Skills—they can still die. A Prosecutor is only immune to Skills.
It’s like a game mechanic where a boss has defenses that can’t be directly breached. Specific maneuvers are needed to bypass these mechanics to defeat the boss.
Essentially, a Prosecutor is immune to any Magic offensive attack and Skill attack, but they cannot ignore damage from an Ordinary Attack. However, Heroes, with only Ordinary Attacks at their disposal, typically can’t overpower a Prosecutor. Only when a Prosecutor is gravely wounded can they be finished off with an Ordinary Attack. That’s the correct way to understand it. But, to seriously injure a Prosecutor, only the Giant Tribe can manage that."
Jiang Chen replied, "I understand now."
Bartley: "Big Bro, be careful. Try to use indirect methods to kill him."
Jiang Chen had already thought of this, even without Bartley’s reminder.
「...」
「Inside the cave.」
Angelina was particularly worried for Jiang Chen’s safety, given he was facing a Prosecutor. She sat in the cave, anxious and silent.
Jiang Qiu comforted her, "Don’t worry. We have to believe in him. He will figure out a way."
Alice also added, "Jiang Chen is very fast. Even a Prosecutor can’t keep up with him. He can use the Giants of the Giant World to take down the Prosecutor."
"It’s a pity that we can’t do anything."
"What can we do? We don’t have Jiang Chen’s speed, and following him would just slow him down. We’d truly become burdens."
At these words, they fell silent.
All they could do now was hope that Jiang Chen would escape this predicament.
