Chapter 419

Chapter 419: Chapter 418, Who is the Real Prey_1
Alfred also activated his Magic shield. Although he was strong, he couldn’t withstand a direct hit from the Giant Tribe. After all, the Giant Tribe was renowned for its strength, representing the pinnacle of the Melee Class.
Jiang Chen quickly Teleported away, letting them tear each other apart for a while.
"Lord Alfred, that kid has run away."
"This kid is really fast!"
"How about we split up and search for this kid? Whoever kills him will get the primary credit."
"Good idea. A mere Hero can’t harm us at all."
Alfred, intrigued, chimed in, "Fine, that’s settled then. Our hunt begins now."
The dozen or so people grew excited.
Alfred was a Prosecutor, and the Heroes accompanying him were also Prosecutors. While their status wasn’t as high as Alfred’s, Jiang Chen couldn’t harm them; his Skills were ineffective against them.
They considered Jiang Chen their prey, ready to hunt him down.
Meanwhile, Jiang Chen hid nearby and overheard their conversation, a cold chuckle escaping him.
Hunt me? I’m not sure who’s hunting whom! This is perfect; I can silently assassinate Prosecutors and show them who the true Hunter is.
The Giant City was vast, stretching for thousands of miles. It was inhabited not only by the Giant Tribe but also by various Abnormal Beasts they reared, some of which were even flying mounts.
When Jiang Chen and the others broke in, they startled the entire Giant Tribe within the city.
Giants stood a hundred meters tall, equivalent to thirty-three-story buildings. In comparison, humans were as insignificant and weak as ants. Jiang Chen, being fast, quickly found a hiding place.
He planned to begin his hunt once Alfred’s group scattered.
Alfred and his dozen or so men quickly dispersed, searching for any trace of Jiang Chen. They weren’t worried about Jiang Chen himself, as he was a Hero whose Skills couldn’t harm them. Their only concern was the overwhelming strength of the Giant Tribe.
One Magician, protected by a Magic shield, was cautiously searching for Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen’s Perception indicated that within a one-kilometer radius, only this Magician was present.
This is my moment to hunt.
As the Magician scanned his surroundings, he spotted Jiang Chen eighty meters ahead. The Magician sneered, "Found you."
He Teleported, reappearing ten meters from Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen also sensed the disturbance from the Spatial Rift and turned to face the Magician. Just then, several Cyclops lumbered into view, spotting both Jiang Chen and the Magician.
Wielding massive axes, they charged towards them.
Jiang Chen activated Wan Jian Gui Clan Mode, unleashing ten thousand Sword Auras that surged towards the Magician.
MISS...
MISS...
The Magician scoffed, "Fool. All your attacks are useless against me. Don’t you know I’m a Prosecutor?"
"My attacks might be ineffective against you, but the Giant Tribe’s attacks won’t be."
"Do you naively believe these Cyclops can kill me?"
"You’re a Magician; your defensive power must be weak."
"A joke! Do you take me for an ordinary Magician?"
At that moment, the Magician gripped his Scepter in his right hand and cast a spell at the charging Giants. From his Scepter, an ice wall, shimmering like a mirror, materialized, unleashing countless ice projectiles.
These ice projectiles shot fiercely at the Cyclops, piercing their bodies and freezing them solid almost instantly. Over a dozen Cyclops perished under the Magician’s assault.
He had annihilated the Cyclops in an instant.
While the Magician engaged the Giants, Jiang Chen made his move.
He executed Flash in the Void, appearing behind the Magician in an instant.
With his right index finger aimed at the Magician’s head, he unleashed Mysterious Heavenly Finger.
A torrent of True Qi erupted from Jiang Chen’s finger, instantly shattering the Magician’s Magic shield and piercing his skull. This Skill wasn’t native to the Continent of All-Gods; it was the True Qi of a Wanderer—an entirely different form of power.
The Magician remained standing, his eyes fixed forward.
He couldn’t believe he had died just like that.
As the Magician toppled, Jiang Chen spared him a glance. "Even as a Prosecutor, you die by my hand."
Jiang Chen swiftly Teleported, seeking his next target.
Patrick, an Elf Archer, moved with incredible speed, weaving through the Giants and felling those nearby. Suddenly, he sensed imminent danger.
The danger was approaching from behind. As Patrick spun around, he saw a familiar figure standing there, right hand raised.
Patrick inwardly sighed in relief.
I’m a Prosecutor; no Skill can harm me.
The next second, a beam of light pierced through his skull.
Patrick stared at Jiang Chen, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Impossible...
Another one down,
Jiang Chen thought.
Time to find the next.
Jiang Chen moved like a ghost through the Giant City, hunting isolated Prosecutors. He dispatched them one by one with ruthless efficiency. His speed was such that his targets were often dead before they even realized what had happened.
Some Prosecutors died without ever knowing what hit them.
Their corpses were then devoured by the scavenging Giant Tribe.
One... two... four... eight...
Jiang Chen rapidly harvested lives. With the power of Mysterious Heavenly Finger, a Skill unique to Wanderers that ignored all defenses, he killed one Prosecutor after another.
「Two hours later...」
Alfred’s brow furrowed in confusion. They still hadn’t found Jiang Chen. He pulled up his contact list and saw that eight members of their team were now marked as deceased.
Alfred messaged in the team chat: "What happened? Why are eight dead?"
A reply quickly came: "No idea. Killed by the Giant Tribe, maybe?"
Another member chimed in: "Impossible! Any one of us can handle a dozen Giants. No way they killed us."
Someone else typed: "Could Jiang Chen have done it?"
"Even more impossible!" retorted another. "Don’t forget, Jiang Chen is a Hero. His Skills are useless against Prosecutors!"
Alfred’s group of thirteen had come to hunt Jiang Chen, confident that their status as Prosecutors would allow them to eliminate him easily. But now, eight of them were dead.
While Alfred was still reeling from this, another Prosecutor’s name vanished from the list.
Alfred was utterly stunned.
How could this be happening? With our Sixth-stage Strength, Legendary Sets, and the Attributes from our Prosecutor status, we can easily annihilate Giants! Yet now, nine of us are dead. One death might be a fluke, but nine? This is a serious problem. Could Jiang Chen actually kill Prosecutors? Aren’t his Skills supposed to be ineffective against us?
Alfred quickly sent a new message: "Everyone, regroup at the city gate immediately!"
Abandoning the hunt for Jiang Chen, Alfred rushed towards the city gate.
「At the city gate.」
The massive city gate was now sealed shut, blocking any escape. Alfred looked at the three shaken Prosecutors who had managed to return.
Alfred asked grimly, "Are the others... all dead?"
The three survivors looked at Alfred, their silence a grim confirmation.
Of their original team of thirteen, only four remained. Nine Prosecutors had fallen.
