Chapter 452: Chapter 451, What, You are a Member of Taiyi Association_1
Jiang Chen opened his eyes and stood up.
"You all rest here. I’m going out to scout."
Xia also stood up. "I’ll go with you."
Jiang Chen refused. "No need. You’re not fast enough. If anything changes, I can escape immediately. Don’t worry; if I find any changes, I can rush back right away."
"Be careful."
Jiang Chen walked out of the cave and, with a few leaps, exited the canyon. Then, on a mountain peak, he carved a sword mark as a sign for Daphne to find them.
After making the mark, Jiang Chen immediately went deeper into the forest. Meanwhile, a large group of Corrupted Heroes was searching for Jiang Chen and his companions; a large-scale search seemed like a good idea to them.
「Inside the cave.」
Van Lundin looked at Angelina.
This woman is also a Reincarnation of the God and possesses the God’s Seal! She probably doesn’t even know it herself! Once we’re back on the Continent of All-Gods, I must get this woman. Although her God’s Seal isn’t the Magic Swordsman type, my clan has plenty of Priests—my sister is a Priest too! That God’s Seal of hers... once she reaches the Demigod level, she can integrate it and become a true Divine! As for that Swordsman? Hmph... Merely a stumbling block. Want my equipment? Too naive. Why would I just hand it over to you?
Jiang Ling sat cross-legged, his eyes open. He glanced at Van Lundin and seemed to understand something, but he didn’t care. He had already pledged his loyalty to the Stuart Family and was now one of them.
Xia was utterly bewildered.
If I had known, I wouldn’t have come. Now I’m trapped on the Difiled God Continent. Getting back won’t be easy at all.
At that moment, Daphne saw the sword mark Jiang Chen had left. Without hesitation, she entered the cave. Seeing the three people inside, she smiled, then her gaze fell on Jiang Ling.
Huh... A Wanderer?
Daphne was currently in the Dreamspace, so Jiang Ling and the other two couldn’t possibly detect her. The Dreamspace was a unique world, much like the real world, but only Incubi could enter it. Within the Dreamspace, Daphne could see anything she wished. She now stood at the entrance, waiting for Jiang Chen to return.
Shortly thereafter, Jiang Chen returned. He saw Daphne standing at the cave entrance and walked forward, passing right through her.
Jiang Ling asked, "How is it?"
"Heroes from the Difiled God Camp are searching thoroughly, and there are Abnormal Beasts like Hunting beasts," Jiang Chen replied. "It’s not safe to go out now. We can only rest here and wait for people from the Stuart Family to come for us."
"That’s all we can do for now," Jiang Ling said.
"Has your True Qi recovered?" Jiang Chen asked.
Jiang Ling nodded. "Yes. Who did you learn meditation from?"
"A Wanderer?"
"You’ve been to the Wanderers’ Alliance?"
Jiang Chen nodded. "I have. The place is covered in snow, and I’ve met many powerful Wanderers there."
Jiang Ling’s interest was piqued. "Who did you meet?"
"Nangong Xin of the Floating Association, Lei Gang of the Life Alliance, One Sword of the Loyal Justice Association... As for the others, I can’t recall their names."
Jiang Ling was startled.
Nangong Xin is the vice-president of the Floating Association. Lei Gang is the top expert of the Life Alliance; even its president isn’t as formidable as him. And One Sword... he’s a disciple of Bai Yun, who inherited his Heaven Cutting Swords Technique, and is also the vice-president of the Loyal Justice Association! Jiang Chen actually knows so many people! And they’re all renowned masters!
Jiang Ling nodded. "The fact that you can name them means you’ve really met them. They are all first-class masters, true experts, comparable to Demigods. I used to be a member of the Taiyi Association."
Jiang Chen looked back at Jiang Ling.
Taiyi Association?
Jiang Chen had been to the Wanderer World before but hadn’t met anyone from the Taiyi Association. It was unexpected to encounter a member here.
Jiang Chen clasped his fist in greeting. "I’ve long admired your reputation."
"Admired what?" Jiang Ling asked.
Jiang Chen: ?????? Isn’t that what all you Wanderers say? ’Long admired the name, as resounding as thunder?’
Jiang Ling laughed. "I was once a member of the Taiyi Association, but not anymore. I’ve left it and have now allied myself with the Stuart Family."
"Why?" Jiang Chen asked.
"To make a living."
You’re already a master; could you still be worried about daily meals? I wouldn’t believe that.
Jiang Ling continued, "You heard right. I allied with the Stuart Family to make a living. Many from the Five Alliances of Wanderers have allied themselves with the Continent of All-Gods, and a smaller portion with the Difiled God Continent."
"Wanderers are a group of homeless people, without identity markers, belonging neither to the Continent of All-Gods nor the Difiled God Continent. The ultimate goal of the Five Alliances is for their members to become Divine."
"Once a Wanderer becomes Divine, they face two choices: join the Continent of All-Gods or join the Difiled God Continent. Only these two continents are the strongest powers."
"If they join the Continent of All-Gods, a Wanderer’s Martial Arts will also change, becoming a class, like your current Swordsman Class. They will also enjoy various benefits."
Jiang Chen asked, "Can’t they become an independent power?"
"No. The Continent of All-Gods won’t allow it, and neither will the Difiled God Continent. Don’t you know that many worlds are controlled by other Divine? You either join them or face destruction. No third-party powers are allowed to exist."
Jiang Chen nodded.
Jiang Ling continued, "It’s just like with the rifts in the Xileruo World and the Underworld. If a third-party power is discovered, the major powers immediately unite to eradicate it. Why can’t they eradicate the Underworld? Because that world is too strong, too ruthless. Even they can’t do anything about it. And the Underworld, similarly, aims to conquer both the Difiled God Continent and the Continent of All-Gods, just like ancient emperors waging wars to expand their territory."
"The Continent of All-Gods and the Difiled God Continent have long had a tacit understanding: if any third-party power appears, they will join forces to eliminate it. As for the grudges between the Continent of All-Gods and the Difiled God Continent, their conflicts are only minor skirmishes. It’s like, ’You take my territory today, I’ll take it back tomorrow.’ There are no large-scale wars. Even the battle in the Xileruo World involving a million soldiers was considered small-scale. Didn’t both sides eventually shake hands and make peace? As long as the Divine themselves don’t go to war, it’s all considered minor conflict."
"So, when a Wanderer becomes Divine, they must choose to join either the Difiled God Continent or the Continent of All-Gods. Attempting to establish an independent world is tantamount to rebellion. Neither continent will permit it, and the outcome would inevitably be destruction. How many people are in the Wanderers’ Alliance? How could they possibly contend? Heroes from either continent could eradicate the Wanderers. In a battle with a million soldiers, any Ninth-Stage Master would perish."
"Nowadays, Wanderers survive in the cracks. To put it bluntly, they’re like chieftains of small mountain strongholds, constantly facing crisis. As for why they haven’t been completely eradicated? It’s because Wanderers have no God of their own. They don’t pose a significant threat to the major powers."
