After Breaking Up, I Married the General-Chapter 117 - 116: Going Back to the Ninth Army Base 2

Chapter 117

Chapter 117: Chapter 116: Going Back to the Ninth Army Base 2
"Okay, no need to be agitated," Ryzel said pacifying Lyre.
"Do we have other classmates assigned here?" Ryzel asked to change the topic.
"Nope, all our classmates are assigned in other armies, but we have a few more guides from other departments."
"Oh, do they also have partners in here or did they voluntary sign up here?"
"Of course they didn’t volunteer. You know how unpopular the ninth army is with guides, right? They were just assigned here through the school system."
Knowing how guides in the capital always avoided the ninth army, the guides who were assigned by the school system would have thought that they were unlucky.
Unfortunately, they can’t change it, as long as they don’t have a marriage partner or an official fiancé in other armies. Anyway, it is only for a few months, they could only endure it until then.
"Have you met them?"
"I haven’t seen them yet this morning, so I’m not sure who they are. Anyway, I’ll see them soon."
As an intern even though he was the partner of Mervin the only exception he had was his sleeping quarters aren’t the same as the others.
Lyre would still need to attend the briefing and other general gatherings of the other interns so he would surely meet the other guides that came from their school.
Unlike him who already finished his quota and even exceeded it he was only waiting for his graduation certificate.
Lyre still needed to attend everything that was arranged for interns as he wasn’t finished anything yet.
"Yes, you’ll see them eventually. By the way, how’s the result of your research?"
"I finished raising the potions effect by 15% and submitted it the day before the deadline so that the professor won’t be able to say anything any longer. Even if he wanted me to redo it there would be no more time for it," Lyre said cheerfully.
"You already raised it by 15% even if you submitted it earlier the professor should have accepted it as he also knows your personality.
If he didn’t accept it and wanted, you to raise its effect even more you could have just told him that you are preparing your marriage.
If you told him that you are preparing for your wedding, then the professor would have considered it," Ryzel said while looking at Lyre wondering why he forgot one of his escape route.
"Yes, why didn’t I think of it!"
"If you used it then you didn’t have to wait until the final day before submitting your research."
"Unfortunately, I didn’t think of it that’s why I have been anxious for a long time because of it. I kept thinking about possible consequences of not submitting my research earlier," Lyre said with a little bit of sadness in his voice.
"Well, it’s your fault for not thinking of it," Ryzel said nonchalantly.
"The potion you are about to make right now, is it the stabilizers you researched?" Lyre asked curiously.
While he was talking with Lyre, he was preparing the ingredients he needed to make some potions.
Lyre probably saw that the ingredients he took out were the ingredients used in making potions they already studied.
"Yes, what I will be making are those stabilizers. You can observe how I do it.
You might be permitted to do them depending on the person in charge of you guys they might even include it in the quota you need to fulfill.
If it wasn’t included, then you could just do it once you graduated.
"Ok, I’ll watch you make it. I’ll say it once again, you are really amazing for researching something very useful without even graduating yet," Lyre praised.
"You can also do it," Ryzel said while starting to make the potion.
"No way, I am not interested in research. Making potions is still bearable but doing research is really not possible. I already felt like dying while doing our research, so I won’t be doing any research later on."
Lyre was actually not that bad, that’s why the professors who knew him would always encourage him to improve on it but unfortunately even with their constant effort in making him change his mind Lyre really wasn’t interested in research.
"If you’re not going to do any research then I could just have you as my assistant if I need some assistance, right?"
"Yes, I can help as long as what I needed to do isn’t too hard."
"I know, I won’t arrange anything that is too difficult. I know you are more interested in music.
Now that are already married to Mervin and already part of the ninth army you can freely play music from now on.
Group guiding is also effective for sentinels so you could help a lot of sentinels while also playing music which is good for everyone.
Did you already talk about with Mervin?"
Before getting married, Lyre could only play music within his family as they didn’t want him to be exposed.
Now that he was already married and managed to go to the ninth army as his parents hoped, he could finally play in the open without being afraid of being discovered. Even if a lot of people knew about it there wouldn’t be a problem as he was still doing his responsibilities properly.
"No, I still didn’t talk to him about it."
"Huh? Then, what did the two of you talk about for nearly a month?" Ryzel asked in disbelief.
Lyre and Mervin had already communicated with each other for almost a month already.
He can’t believe that they didn’t even talk about such an important issue for a long time.
If it were him and Layton Lewis, they would have already finished discussing it together.
"Don’t tell me the two of you just talked about some sweet nonsense?" Ryzel asked again.
"Of course not, and it is not nonsense, you know! We are just preoccupied with other matters that’s why we didn’t manage to talk about it," Lyre said defensively.
"Then, you’d better talk about it with Mervin soon."
"Yes, I’ll talk about him later on."
The two of them continued talking about different things while he was making some potions until Mervin knocked to get Lyre for his mental power test.
With how wide the mental sea of Mervin is and with how high their compatibility rate is Ryzel was sure that Lyre’s mental power level is also very high.
While Ryzel and Layton Lewis were getting ready for lunch, Lyre and Mervin also came back.
"Are you done with your mental power level test? How is it?"
"Yes, I just finished it, the result says that my mental power level is S," Lyre said happily.
"Congratulations!" Ryzel and Layton Lewis said.
"I’m sure your quota would be a lot more compared to the others," Ryzel added.
"Hey! can’t you let me be happy for a while," Lyre snapped at Ryzel.
"You just need to think about it for a bit and you will realize it, so it isn’t my fault," Ryzel replied nonchalantly.
"By the way, did you also bring packed lunches?" Ryzel asked.
"Yes, we cooked it this morning, Mervin replied while taking out their lunch.
It seemed that both Mervin and Lyre knew how to cook well. He already knew that Lyre knew how to cook but he didn’t expect that Mervin also knew how to cook.
"Wow, General Lewis, you really know how to cook well!" Lyre praised while looking at the dishes on the table.
"Of course, he is good. Okay, don’t just stand around. I’m already hungry."
The four of them ate their lunch while talking a bit about various things. But most of the time Ryzel and Layton Lewis were just listening to Mervin and Lyre and just asking some questions or answering questions for a bit.
"Will we start doing something today aside from the mental power test?" Lyre asked.
"No, all of the interns will start doing something tomorrow. Aside from doing the mental power tests all of you have free time for the rest of your time today," Mervin answered.
"Then, what are we going to do tomorrow?" Lyre asked again.
"For guides your jobs will be announced tomorrow together with your quota.
As soon as they announce it you can start making potions or guiding others depending on your department.
As for the sentinels and other people they will start their training because they will have their assessment once we arrive at the headquarters."
"What about the guides do they also have an assessment?" Ryzel asked.
"No, they won’t. They would only be assessed based on the potions they submitted and for the others who do a guiding job they only need to successfully guide the sentinels in their quota," Layton Lewis answered.
"Thankfully, I don’t need to have assessments!" Lyre said happily.
"You don’t have any assessments, but the quality of your potions would still be graded, don’t think you can just slack off," Ryzel said while looking at Lyre.
