Chapter 29

Chapter 29: Chapter 29- Lich(3)
As soon as Nyrax said, the world returned to normal.
Dante could move his body and looked around as time returned. He then immediately went to check his skill.
[Reaper of Nyrax.]
[Skill type - Martial skill. Blessing.]
[Effect - Absorption, debuff. ]
[Every time you give, you shall receive.]
For the first time, Dante saw the skill effect from the system.
Information about the newly gained skill entered into his brain. He processed the information and quickly sorted the useful one.
The skill gave him general knowledge about fighting like his previous two skills but more in depth about reaping stuff.
The lich lifted up its hand and looked at the air, its green eyes emitting flames.
It then looked down at Dante from the throne.
"Strange. Just now,I feel a disruption in this space. What is that? Your soul seems to change as well. Is this the power of your, the carrier of the unknown?"
Dante didn’t say a word and focused on his skill. He absorbed the information deeply and formed a metal image.
The reaper skill was fascinating and at the same time disgusting. He felt a repulse from that. His soul was rejecting the skill.
And yet, it also wanted to intertwine with it.
After getting a general gist of the skill, he focused his attention on the knights.
About 18 knights left, Dante grabbed his axe and used
Dash
for the first time, not thinking about mana anymore.
His speed increased and he arrived in front of the knight. The lich was still calculating something in the air and stopped the knights.
He channeled mana into the axe and activated the third rune, enlarging the size of the axe. He also added a compressed mana bolt into the second rune.
He felt mana leaving the body and instantly felt the urge to replenish but he stopped.
The swung the axe to the knight’s head, the rune activated, blowing away the knight’s head.
The reaper skill activated and Dante felt pure mana rushing over him, filling his core.
The skill was simple, every strike he made with the intention of
reaping
allowed him to absorb the opponent’s mana.
This was the first part of the skill. He couldn’t use the second part because the knights were undead.
’Or my understanding of the skill is still shallow. After all, the skill is only in the beginner state."
The lich came back from the gaze and looked down at Dante. Its eyes were focusing on the axe.
"Strange thing indeed. Is this your skill?"
The lich said, not getting an answer from Dante.
The lich nodded and ordered the knights to start moving.
Dante dodged the two swings coming from the side and threw one of the axes he was holding. He then used the first rune to control the movement of the axe.
It turned toward him and he grabbed it, channeled the spell again.
Then, the sword flashed in front of him, Dante lifted up both of his axes to block the sword. The weight was heavy enough to push him on his knees.
His hands were shaking from the strike.
The knights didn’t care and started attacking from the side.
Dante hurriedly let the axes go and crouched down. He used Dash to escape from the many swords.
’I should have used my mana bolt to fuel my block.’ He thought.
After making the distance, he gathered mana in his hands and yanked the axe back to him.
He noticed a few chips from the axe’s edge. He frowned.
He then looked at the lich and said, "Your points better be worth it."
The knights ran toward him again. Some threw the sword at the place he dodged. But under his
eyes
, he easily swung the swords away.
But numbers were too much and one managed to stab him from the side.
He grabbed the sword and threw it to the nearest knight. It hit to the chest and Dante felt mana rushed over him.
’This skill is awesome.’ He said to himself, trying to ignore the deal he made. It should be left to his future self.
Wondering about that had no use right now.
’If I use my
Zero-Point
skill, can I recover my mana?’
Dante shook his head, blowing away this thought. He wanted to try it but doing this kind of experiment was not good.
So Dante deployed hit and run tactics. He got closer using his
Dash
and backed away after getting a few hits.
Then he used mana he gained from his
Reaper
skill to heal himself, trying his best to stay alive.
Of course, there were some poor attempts here and there but mostly he was doing alright.
Despite the flow becoming more stable, Dante didn’t let his
eyes
off the lich.
The lich was motionless, not even glancing at him after ordering the knights.
Dante’s eyes widened as he realized something. But knowing something didn’t mean, he had the solution. At least he couldn’t think of the solution with him alone in the equations.
He needed to add players.
’How many times has passed? 30 minutes? No.’ Dante cursed.
’Shit. It has only been 6 minutes.’
Dante decided to use
Zero-Point
. Right now, his mana was almost full.
If he managed to get 3 or 4 knights in exchange for half of his mana, it would be worth it.
Dante separated mana from his core. He then channeled his mana to his legs and used
Dash
.
He arrived at the nearest group of knights and gathered mana and used
Zero-Point.
The mana from his hands changed to a purple aura. He grinned his teeth and the aura started consuming his mana.
He punched at the knights rapidly, throwing light jabs.
He didn’t need to seriously inflict damage. The aura would do the trick for him.
He then closed off the aura and kicked at the knight to gain mana.
After that, he looked to see the knights.
He saw a purple aura slowly sinking into the armor. After that, the four knights fell to the ground.
The lich suddenly woke up from the throne and glanced at Dante.
"What did you do, child?"
Dante shrugged off and blew a middle finger at the lich.
"Fine then. Savor my doom."
The lich extended its skeleton arm and chanted arcane words.
The knights around the battlefield shook as if electricity was flowing through them. Even the armor laying on the ground started floating.
Then the knights also floated, slowly gathering at a single point. The moment each other touched, they melted and transformed into a giant ball of iron that reek of blood.
Dante punched his nose and stared at the terror.
He gulped and touched his face, noticing a smile etched.
He was happy and excited. There was also a bit of fear mixed into these two.
Happy because he knew his theory was correct. Fear was normal.
He grabbed his heart, feeling the rapid heartbeat. He didn’t know why he had this feeling. Excitement. Like a child opening a present for a birthday.
He let out a cough and prepared himself.
The giant iron ball slowly took form. First came legs. Then body, arms, head and the rest goes into the sword.
The giant behemoth looked down at him, barely fitting inside the room. The giant knight stomped at the ground, creating cracks.
Dante jumped up to avoid the wave of dust.
And he felt a boulder crushing into him, sending him straight to the wall.
’What was that?’
