Apocalypse system: I have unparallel comprehension-Chapter 28- Lich(2)

Chapter 28

Chapter 28: Chapter 28- Lich(2)
"Shit. Shit." Dante cursed out loud. His skill couldn’t heal Julius’s wounds.
His life energy wasn’t potent enough to stop the blood from coming out. Let alone, creating new flesh.
Thomas came over to them after killing all the knights. He looked at Julius’s wounds and frowned.
"Not that bad."
Julius faintly smiled. "I think so too."
"This is not time for a joke." Dante said, trying to infuse more life energy to his friend. His hand was shaking.
During thousands of dreams, he experienced everything. He saw Julius died. Thomas was also buried under the enemies. He also saw him killing Julius and Thomas.
They also killed him.
But despite everything he experienced, he didn’t want to lose a friend.
"I can ask mana to help Julius." Thomas gave his hand.
"Are you sure?" Dante asked.
Thomas shook his head. "It is not certain but I can try."
Dante gave a quick thought, glanced at the surroundings. Right now, Thomas was the one only who was pushing all the knights.
Without him, the knights would come.
"Alright. Make a giant wall and protect yourself. I am going to delay the knights so hurry up." Dante said with a smile.
He stepped forward with axes glowing bright color.
Thomas nodded and pulled out a chunk of earth from the ground, covering the two in an earth sphere.
"Good luck." Thomas said.
Dante gathered his crumbled mind and let out a long and suffering sigh. He rubbed his neck and gave it a few slap, trying to wake his system.
He then looked at his enemies and noted down the numbers. There were around 15 knights left.
Julius attacked managed to finish 5 knights for good. He had to thank him for that.
Without wasting any times, the black knights rushed toward him with their weapons. Dante jumped up and dodged the swung, he then fall down and slammed his axe to the knight’s leg.
He felt vibration form the axe, ignoring it, he continued dodging and attacking it.
Sparring with Thomas helped him a lot in this battle, he learned how to come back from the attack effectively.
His
eyes
observed every knights and noted down. Over time, their dance became more awkward as Dante’s body could handle anymore.
His body was soaked in blood and sweat. Various cut around his arms and legs, some deep stab on his back.
He chuckled at his current state, hot pain spreading through his body. Every steps hurted.
He tried not to use Heal because the mana consumption was too great and the sore he felt afterwards would leave him at a disadvantage.
"A
strange child with a scent of the unknown. It is a pity that you all fell into this dungeon. Otherwise you all will be famed heroes."
The lich spoke, waving its hand.
The knights stopped its attack and started to pour more pressure into their attacks.
Dante dodged their attacks and attacked on their weak spots, created by the previous battles.
He gathered a mana bolt in his right hand and used his mana skill,
Compression
. He compressioned the mana bolt into a tiny speck of dust.
He ducked and rolled between the knight’s legs. He then pushed the tiny mana bolt to the knight’s genital area and let it explode.
Due to the force, the knight jumped up in the air, its armor broken to pieces.
With no time to relax, he set up the next attack while dodging the swords.
He let out a breath and observed the remaining knight. There were not a lot of weak spots he could use.
He tilted his head to the side as the sword passed through from his back, trying to crush his skull.
Thankfully, his eyes allowed him to see 360 degrees.
He did a backflip and landed on the knight, warping around his legs like a snake. He then shoved his hand into the gaps between the helmet and blew again.
Sharp pain spread across his hand but he ignored it.
He tried not to use that much mana as the lich remained invincible.
This kind of hit and run went on for a good minute, Dante was slowly getting into the zone.
’This is not good enough. I need something to break through the flow. Otherwise, my body will be the one to give up first.’
He thought about the dreams he experienced and tried to find something useful.
He checked his status to see what could use, even though he remembered everything.
Name- Dante
Tier- Tier 2 human.
Bloodline- Sage beyond the end.
Skill-
External eye of the hunter (Grade-8)
Mana compression (Grade-2)
Zero-Point destruction (Grade-8)
Heal (Grade-1)
Dash (Grade-1)
Reaper of ??? ( Beginner.)
Zero-Point destruction was the killer skill but it used too much mana. He hadn’t learned how to successfully deploy the skill without it consuming his mana.
His eyes focused on the newly gained skill. It was a martial skill but the effect was unknown. It didn’t help much that the skill was incomplete.
Something was whispering behind his back, telling him to focus on this skill.
He frowned as he realized the voice was not his.
"What are you doing here?" Dante said.
His voice seemed to get the attention of the lich as the lich stopped the knights.
"What do you mean child?"
The lich said.
Dante ignored the lich and focused more on the strange voice in his head.
It was slowly speaking to him.
"Are you playing a game? I know you did something to my mind. What do you want?" He continued asking the voice.
He scratched his head and wiped the blood from his forehead. "What do you want,
Nyrax
?"
As soon as he spoke the name, the lich froze. Not just the lich, everything around him froze as if time itself didn’t exist anymore.
Dante himself didn’t seem to move.
The only thing moving was the system window in front of him.
[Detecting outsider influence.]
[Overwriting... error.]
[The current system can’t be overwritten.]
[Requesting help.....]
The space in front of Dante warped and a blue portal was created.
Dante could only stare at the portal.
A leg came up from the portal and slowly the man in glasses entered into his view. He lifted up his glasses and observed Dante from head to toe.
"It is unexpected of you to call me. I have a feeling that you loathe me." The man spoke calmly.
"Ah, I forget you can’t move." The man realized Dante’s situation and let out a sigh.
"Nevermind, even I can’t bend the system rule. You want to know the truth about the skill right? I will explain. It is an equivalent exchange. I took your skills and gave you a new one."
"Don’t worry, it is not something malicious. I do want to get something from you. I admit."
The man circled Dante.
"Let’s make a deal again. In exchange for the skill, I will get a favor. Not right now of course, you are quite weak. A favor in the future. Deal?"
The man said, tapping his chin. "Just think. I will know."
Dante let out a frown he couldn’t express. If he could move right now, he would surely throw a punch at Nyrax.
But thinking about his current situation, he didn’t really have a choice. His mind was now a mess from the dreams.
Nyrax had set up a path without choice.
Dante had been playing on his palm. Granted he didn’t do anything wrong. No. He did do something wrong.
It was because he was weak. Because he was weak, he had no choice against Nyrax. That entity was powerful.
Dante began to think.
Yeah. I am weak. I can’t do anything. Without Thomas and Julius, I can’t achieve anything. My skills are powerful but I can’t do anything.
Power. Power.
Shit.
Dante hated this. He hated that he didn’t have a choice.
’Fine. Let’s make a deal.’
Nyrax smiled. His smile created uneasiness inside Dante’s heart. He knew he was playing in Nyrax’s palm.
"Great." Nyrax said.
