Chapter 39: Chapter 39 - Late night party
Dante sat on the chair and looked at the dishes Thomas and Julius took out from the system. The smell brought him drooling.
He wiped the saliva and began to feast on the dishes.
"Beer." He ordered.
Thomas grabbed at the air and took out the cup. Dante chugged the whole cup and immediately felt the heat hit his head.
He let out a satisfied smile and slammed the cup with force. "That is good stuff."
"We should eat like this once a month." Julius said, sipping in some wine like a rich noble.
"Haha. We don’t need to worry about money." Thomas said, his face red with alcohol.
"How are you guys training?" Dante asked, biting the sea food.
He chewed and swallowed it with the beer.
"I am expanding my senses." Julius said. "I don’t see drastic improvement but it is a good exercise."
"What about your space skill?" Dante asked.
"I am trying to remember the theory I learned from the eyemonster. I got the first part but the second part was a bit hazy."
"Restriction?" Thomas asked.
Julius shook his head. "No. At least I don’t think so."
"What kind of skill are you aiming for?" Dante said, trying to see if he can give advice to Julius.
"Let’s see. I got good offensive and movement skills. I want to defend myself."
Dante interrupted Julius. "I don’t think you need defensive skill. Your movement skill is good enough to dodge. With your martial sense, you are practically dodging everything."
Thomas nodded, aggressing with him.
"Yeah, that is what I thought as well." Julius said. "So this skill I am trying to get relies on the theory of locks."
Thomas titled his head.
Julius nodded and started to explain more of his skill.
"We are surrounded by space. My physique allows me to see these spaces very clearly. My goal is to use the spaces to restrict someone or something from moving."
Dante picked up the fruit and pointed at Julius. "Binding with the invisible ropes?"
Julius clapped his hands and nodded. "Yeah. Yeah. Like cornering you with invisible walls. Here I will show you the first part."
He lifted up his hands and manipulated the mana in a way that seemed inconceivable. Even with Dante’s eyes he only saw a few parts and the rest melded into various parts of the space.
Julius then grabbed the nearby wine bottle and deployed the mana he crafted.
He then let go of the wine bottle.
It floated in the air, as if it was placed on the invisible table.
"Woah!" Thomas exclaimed. He reached out the wine bottle and stopped before his hands reached it.
He took back his hand and said. "I feel the wall you are talking about. That is a cool skill."
Julius nodded with a smile. "But there is a downside with this skill."
"You can’t interact with the things you placed inside the invisible walls or box." Dante said.
"Bingo. The second part is to make the walls one way." Julius said.
"But you got a good prison." Thomas said.
"No. Not really, there is no air inside the box. They will suffocate." Dante pointed out. "But you have various applications of the wall."
"I think so. Anyway, what is your guy’s progress?" Julius asked, retracting the wine bottle.
Thomas coughed. "I don’t have much progress with my ability. I am trying to improve my basics."
"Mana control?" Julius asked, tilting his head.
"Hmm. And I also want to try many things. Of course, the idea is a bit wild."
"Tell us." Dante said.
"I want to change my body into an elemental state." Thmoas said.
"Oh, that is going to be hard."
"Yep. I don’t even know where I can start. So I am just focusing on my control until I get a flash of inspiration." Thomas said.
"As for me, I am trying to see my ring’s ability. Right now, I have a transformation." He said, pointing at his ring. He called out and wore it.
Julius was taken back by this. He squinted his eyes and said in surprise. "Woah. Your spacial nature changed."
"Cool right? There is another effect called mental but I can’t activate it." Dante said.
Their conversation became more abstract as time passed and more alcohol entered it into the system.
Thomas suddenly sang a country song, even letting a few tears drop onto the food. They ended the small party when Julius dropped to the floor.
Thomas carried him and placed in the bed.
"He is always a light weight drinker." Dante said, as he felt buzz hitting his head.
"Don’t compare with you. You just have a monstrous drinking capacity." Thomas chuckled and slept in the next bedroom.
Dante chuckled and walked downstairs. He fixed the chairs and table and cleaned it. Thankfully, there were no dishes as the system took away.
After finishing the clean up, he decided to open the window to see the moon. It was a mistake as the cold wind immediately slapped at his face, waking him up from the daze.
To make it worse, there was no moon in the sky as the snow covered everything.
He closed the window and hugged himself to warm up.
He then snapped his fingers to turn off the light ball he created. After that, he went upstairs and fell head first on the bed, curling up.

Shizuku’s Pov
They were the most dangerous people she had encountered in the tutorial. She still felt the cold sharpness when the blade rested on her neck.
The blond haired man’s eyes were cold. She knew that if she said one wrong word and her head could fall down from the shoulder.
Thankfully, her years of fighting against the union gave her a calm mind during the stressful process.
The three men were not the strongest she had met but their aura were dangerous.
The man she felt strongly was an average looking man called Dante.
Shizuku could come up with words to describe the meeting with Dante. He was calm the whole time as if the whole situation was under his control.
He was correct in that as their group stood no chance against them.
She closed off the book she was reviewing. She heard a knock on her door and answered.
"Come in." She said, placing the book neatly on her desk.
Liora entered.
"The chief is calling you." She said, "I have also finished mapping the south side of our map."
Shizuku nodded. "Good job. You can rest for tonight. No need to guard."
"Are we going to go to them?" Liora asked.
Shizuku understood her and shook her head. "I don’t know, Liora. Why do you ask? Are you afraid of them?"
"I am not. They are only three men’s groups. We are facing the Union." Liora said. "It is just that they reminded me of the Prodigy. Wild and free."
Shizuku smiled and patted Liroa’s head. "No need to worry. There is no one who can best him. You know that."
She left her room and walked to the left wing tower of the castle. On the way, she met with a few guards.
She gave some words and stopped when she reached the chief’s room. She prepared herself and knocked on the door.
"Shizuku?" A calm voice sounded behind the room.
"Yes, sir."
"You may enter."
Shizuku opened the door and walked, she stopped in the middle and stood tall.
She saw a man about 56 tending a small plant. He watered the plant and cutted of a few leaves. He motioned her to sit down.
She gave a bow and sat.
The old man placed the watering can and sat on his chair. He didn’t say a word and tapped the wood desk.
On it were books and various items for the office.
"Gather your group and go to the three anomalies." The old man ordered, his voice smooth, dripping like honey.
"Yes, sir." Shizuku said. "How do I process them?"
"Just invite them to our base. No need to worry."
"But sir, they are."
The old man’s sharp glance stopped her from speaking any farther. "I said no need to worry. I know Dante you said in the ."
Shizuku’s brows knit together slightly.
"Dante is my son." The old man said with a heavy sigh.
