Chapter 47: Chapter 47 - Going to Hunt
Dante grabbed his cane and walked toward Shizuku’s office. He tapped the door with his cane and waited for the answer.
"Who is there?" A faint feminine voice asked behind the door.
"It is Dante. I want to ask about something." He said.
"Wait for a minute." The voice said back.
He heard a rustle behind the door. He avoided using his eyes as it would violate privacy. Last night, he didn’t learn those lessons and flashed with many sex scenes.
He cleared his throat and waited silently. He played with the cane. He must say he looked fabulous with the cane.
"Come in, Dante."
He received the permission and opened the door slowly. He stepped inside the room and immediately noticed the difference.
The room smelled so sweet. There was a hint of flower in the smell. He looked around and saw a flower placed near the window.
He noted. The wind carried the smell from the flower and circulated in the room.
Shizuku lifted up her hair and signalled the chair. "Here. Tea?"
Dante shook his head. "No need for that."
He walked to the middle and sat down. Shizuku followed.
"What do you need?" She asked, not wanting to prolong her curiosity.
"I am going to hunt the monster." Dante said.
Shizuku nodded, not sure how to answer that. So she remained silent.
"I need a capable scout for that."
"Can I ask you why? You are capable of doing such things."
"I don’t want to elaborate on it but I made a deal with the Artisan." Dante said. "For that, I need to supply mana cores. And I am not familiar with this part of the forest. And I knew that you guys had the map."
Shizuku thought and nodded. "I will let Liora go with your group. How many people in your group?"
"Just two. Thomas and me."
"What about Sir Julius?"
"He is training with Moist."
Shizuku nodded. "When are you going to the first?"
Dante didn’t answer and thought for a brief moment. "Tomorrow."
"Alright, I will tell Liora about that."
Dante couldn’t hold on and decided to ask.
"Why are you helping me? I am a stranger you know. Giving your precious scout like this. Aren’t you afraid that I will kill her?"
Shizuku stared at Dante’s eyes for an uncombable time. Dante ignored her and stared around the room.
There was a small tension building up.
"You don’t seem like a bad guy."
"Huh?" Dante said.
"No matter how many times I thought, you don’t seem like a bad guy. My instinct was telling me that." Shizuku said with a smile.
For that smile, Dante gave her full marks.
’Well, everyone here is beautiful.’
"Why do you trust your instinct that much? What if yours is wrong?"
Shizuku nodded. "But I have no choice. Because of this instinct, I am talking with you right now."
Dante stood up and left the room.

The next morning.
Dante swung his cane and jumped around, readying himself for the hunt. He channeled mana into his finger and fired the mana bolt.
It traveled and tore through the tree trunk.
He nodded, his heart filled with satisfaction. His mana bolt improved quite a lot as his understanding of compression deepened.
But there was still natural mana fighting his mana.
Thomas was under the tree, meditating. He said he decided to add meditation to his regular training routine. Dante was happy about that.
Right now, they were waiting for the scout.
He told Shizuku that they would meet in the forest near the castle. She agreed.
His eyes picked up two people walking toward them.
He turned around to Thomas and said. "They are here."
Thomas opened his eyes and stood up. He grabbed the gauntlets nearby and wore it. He glanced at Dante and smiled.
"You don’t seem like you are here for a fight." He said, looking at Dante’s black cane.
"Oh, you will see about this baby." Dante said, kissing the cane.
"Gross." Thomas shivered.
They heard the rustle coming from behind. Dante turned around and waved his hand at Shizuku.
The lady nodded and bowed at him.
Beside her was the scout, her eyes lacked sparks. She nodded at him and Thomas and went back to her job, standing there like a robot.
"Any monsters you want to hunt?" Shizuku asked. She wore a tight black cloth similar to a latex, revealing her curvy figure.
She carried a bow behind her back.
Dante willed himself to not stare at her figure and answered. "Something strong."
Well, he couldn’t help but glance at her. After all, he was a healthy young man.
Shizuku nodded and called the scout to her side. "Liora, any place you want to suggest?"
"There are two places." She said quietly. "Near the castle. They are not that strong for experienced fighters."
Dante shook his head. "They ignored them. I want to fight something strong. Stronger than us. Otherwise, there is no improvement."
"You are quite confident in your strength." Liora said to him for the first time. "Aren’t you afraid of running into the inescapable monster."
Dante tapped his chin and shook his head. "No. I am not saying that there is no such thing as an inescapable monster. But if there is one, I am sure I can escape it."
"That is... dumb."
"Yeah." Dante laughed.
"If you want to fight with that kind of monster then, I know a few places." Liora said.
"Great. Let’s go."
They began their journey.
"Dude, you are too obvious." Thomas said, bumping Dante’s shoulder.
"What obvious."
"You are so blatantly staring at her with those googly eyes. It is creepy."
"I am not staring at her like that. It is just." He sighed. "Alright. I admit I stare at her for a bit. Who won’t? She is quite beautiful."
Dante observed Thomas. "You. You are even more strange than me."
"Relax. I am not interested in this kind of thing." Thomas said. "Just don’t stare at her too much. Remember it is creepy."
Dante nodded. "I will remember."
After the short episode, they quietly moved among the forest. They stopped at a few places mainly to check the map.
Liroa was the best at her job. She dodged the groups of monsters and went farther into the forest.
After running for a few hours, they stopped for lunch. Shizuku ordered Liroa to get some vegetables and prepared a fire.
Dante looked at the two women and tilted his head. "You don’t need to do that."
"Why? Do you have a nutrition bar?" Shizuku asked. She was referring to the military grade food issued by the Union during the war.
"No. I have even better." Dante smiled and slapped at Thomas’s back.
"Ouch."
Shizuku looked at the big man, confusion etched onto her cute face. "We eat him?"
"No. No." Thomas waved his hands and let out a sigh. "I will buy the food from the system."
"You can buy food in system? How?" Shizuku stood up.
"In the shop session."
She called out status and immediately checked her stuff. She then turned off the system and shook her head. "I don’t see anything."
"What does your shop show?" Dante asked.
"There are 2 sessions under the shop." She said, "One of them was for skill. The other is the tutorial videos of everything."
"Huh?" Dante exclaimed. He immediately calmed himself and noted down. Even the shop was different from one person. No, there seemed to be something separating them and leveled humans.
Thomas began to take out dishes and gave them to Shizuku and Liora. Soon, they began eating quietly.
He got a good reaction from the two women as the plates vanished into the air. He chuckled inwardly and rested under the tree.
He looked up at the tree and counted the leaves. Of course, he was not just resting as his entire body was working on his mana control.
Mana control had become a habit of his. No matter where it was, he had to manipulate his mana. He created a ring and spun it fast.
He tried splitting the ring into two.
He stopped it when he saw Shizuku coming in his direction. She sat beside him with her legs neatly crossed.
"Why are you always so polite?" Dante asked.
Shizuku tilted her head, not seeming to get his question. "What do you mean?"
"Here. Look at this." Dante pointed at the way she was sitting. "And you always bow down at people."
"Oh." She let out a sweet smile and nodded. "This is in my culture."
"Culture?"
"Yeah. Before the Fourth war, there were many countries filled with their own culture." Shizuku explained. "I learned my lineage after joining the rebellion. I saw it in a film. They bowed to each other when greeting. It was strange at first but I began mimicking that. And now I can’t stop."
"I see." Dante said. He didn’t know what to say to her. Guess, his introverted ability was starting to kick in.
"Are you strong?" She suddenly asked, breaking the silence.
