Apocalypse system: I have unparallel comprehension-Chapter 48 - Short Fight

Chapter 48

Chapter 48: Chapter 48 - Short Fight
Dante didn’t know how to answer this question. He knew he was strong. But his strength was not the same as Thomas or Julius.
Thomas could break through a horde of monsters with his mana and kill everything with ease.
Julius can just teleport and pick one by one.
What could he do when he encountered such a horde? He didn’t know. But he didn’t think he would lose.
Maybe that was his strength, pure delusions.
Dante turned to Shizuku and said. "I don’t know. Why don’t we test that?"
"Are you sure?"
Dante nodded. "Yeah. I knew about your fighting style as well as Liora. And you have experienced Thomas’s power a little bit. What you don’t know is mine?"
"It will be wise to get used to each other." He said.
Shizuku nodded and called Liora to her side. The petite girl came and looked at Shizuku.
"We will take a detour." Shizuku said, filled with authority.
Liora nodded and asked. "Where to?"
Shizuku turned to Dante, looking to see his reaction. He shrugged off and said. "Anywhere with a good number of monsters. Don’t choose some weak ones."
Liroa paused and nodded slowly. "Okay."
She then left and climbed up the nearby tallest tree gracefully. Dante watched her and turned his attention back to Shizuku.
"Your mana reserve must be quite large." He said.
Shizuku tilted her head in confusion. "Huh?"
"You don’t use a regular arrow. Creating arrows with mana must consume a lot right? I suppose you have other skills as well." Dante said.
To be honest, his eyes completely saw through Shizuku’s being from the start. Her mana reserve was quite high. At least compared to Dante, she was about 2 times as large as his.
But that amount of mana meant nothing with her fighting style. He knew how much mana it takes to create a construct.
And firing a bunch was not a good idea.
Shizuku nodded. "My mana reserve was quite large compared to a lot of people. But my advantage is my recovery stat. I poured everything into that."
"I see." Dante said.
After a few minutes of resting, they resumed.
Liroa stopped and signalled the group to stop as well.
She turned to the left and climbed up the tree. Dante followed her and followed her eyes. He saw about 7 monsters circling near the field.
He flinched as he saw the monster’s features. To put it simple, they were a giant ball of flesh moving around, wiggling their body.
"Woah." Dante gasped. "That is gross."
Liora turned to Dante and muttered some words to herself. Dante ignored her and jumped down from the tree.
He looked at Shizuku. "What are those?"
"Flesh demon. They dropped the recovery potion when looting." Shizuku said. "They are like all purpose monsters."
Dante nodded and prepared to face the monsters. He gave the cane to Thomas and said. "Don’t join the battle alright? I wanna check my fighting power."
Thomas nodded. "Sure. They are quite strange. Don’t let your guard down."
"Strange you say." Dante said with a smirk.
He left the group and slowly approached the group of flesh monsters. He jumped between the trees and looked down.
He ran through his mind, trying to see a way to kill these monsters without revealing too much of his cards.
Using Zero-Point Destruction was no good. It was his trump card.
As for artifacts, he gave the cane to Thomas so he didn’t have to use that. He still had two axes on his waist.
He grabbed them and channeled mana.
He called out his status and checked. It had been a while since he saw, he kinda missed the system.
Name- Dante
Tier- Tier 2 human.
Bloodline- Sage beyond the end.
Skill-
External eye of the hunter (Grade-8)
Mana compression (Grade-2)
Zero-Point destruction (Grade-8)
Regenerative Heal ( Grade-2)
Swift Rush ( Grade -2 )
Reaper of Nyrax ( Beginner.)
He nodded and focused on the monsters.
’No use in thinking. I will improvise as the battle goes on.’ He thought and jumped down, straight into the center of the monster horde.
He swung the axe at the left side. It stuck into the flesh. He let go of the axe and fired the compressed mana bolt at point blank range.
It tore through the flesh and came out from the other side.
The monster let out a piercing sound.
Dante frowned as his attacks didn’t kill the monsters. Instead, he enraged it.
He let out a chuckle and moved his body to the side as a flesh hand slammed at his place. He turned his body and kicked with a swift space.
He looked at his legs and was surprised by the speed.
His body was channeling a faint surge of mana. He was unconsciously using a small level of Swift Rush.
Dante continued pressing the monsters, testing out the extent of his power.
His mana bolt was strong enough to ignore their flesh. His physical strength was weak. It didn’t even scratch them.
’Alright, enough playing around. Time to end this.’ He told himself and fully activated his eyes for the first time.
Since morning, he restricted his eyes to only looking at the surface level. He did this because his brain was overloaded with all kinds of information.
He looked far deeper into the flesh monsters. They were just a ball of flesh like Shizuku said. There were no bones or organs inside their body.
Their flesh was entirely fueled by mana.
They morphed the flesh with highly concentrated mana.
They began merging. Slowly increasing in size.
Dante let them have that since it was easier to kill them that way. The flesh monster didn’t have a brain but they had a mana core which they used as a center force.
His eyes revealed that during the merging they also merged their mana core.
Soon, the flesh ball reached the height of the giant tree. It was about as tall as the one story building and wider than the giant bus.
Dante looked up and reconsidered his earlier thought.
"I shouldn’t let that happen?" He muttered.
"Need help?" Shizuku said from the side. "I forgot to mention that. This flesh monster was a unique one"
"I see now. But no need for help." Dante yelled
back. "Somehow."
He muttered the last word to himself.
He fired the mana bolt. It entered into the flesh. The monster vibrated and pushed away its mana core to the side, dodging it entirely.
’Oh. It is annoying.’
He needed to fire mana bolts at a precise target.
The flesh ball created a limb and swung at Dante, leveling the ground.
Dante dodged and jumped up at the limbs. He uses Swift Rush and dashed toward the monster, running on its body.
He reached at the top and saw mana building up inside the flesh.
He saw Shizuku about to say something but Thomas stopped her.
"No need to warm him. He is strong." Thomas said.
Shizuku nodded and observed the fight.
Dante immediately jumped away from the monster. His judgment was correct as in his position, there were spikes of flesh.
It was absorbed back to the monster. And pushed toward his direction with a lightning speed.
Dante used his remaining axe and deflected the flesh spear.
He noticed a small mana core inside the spears. He smiled, realizing the flesh monster’s plan.
He fired a punch of mana bolt, completely killing them.
Another swing came toward his direction. This time he didn’t dodge and instead channeled mana bolt inside his arm.
He used compression and shoved his entire arm into the giant limbs.
He immediately felt flesh assaulting his right arm. He winced in pain and blasted the mana bolt.
The monster’s limbs exploded and his face was covered with flesh.
He spat out the flesh and used his healing skill.
During his observation of the monster, he noted down its weakness.
The monster core was the one controlling the body.
Normal people would see this kind of monster hard to kill but for Dante, it was easy as his eyes saw everything.
He shook his hands and clenched into a fist.
He nodded, feeling the rush of adrenaline into his system. He heard blood pumping on his heart fast. His breath was steady.
He channeled mana into his finger and fired at the monster. He didn’t stop and continued blasting the monster.
Soon, the monster can’t shift the core fast enough and was broken into pieces by Dante.
Dante stopped and let out a defeated sigh.
"Guess, I am not fated for this mana core."
[You have slain the creature of Flesh.]
[700 points earned.]
He jumped to the side, dodging the monster as it was falling down. He walked to the group and saw Thomas holding up a hand.
"Stop. Stop. You can’t come with that." He said, pointing at Dante.
Dante looked down at his body and had to agree with Thomas. His body was covered in pieces of flesh. Thankfully, there was no blood on it.
He sighed and patted his chest.
"Come. Throw me with your water cannon."
Thomas smiled.
