Accompanied by flickering spatial distortions, Malrick appeared deep within Earth's core.
Here, molten iron and nickel from the planet's formation surged and flowed like rivers of fire, creating a hostile, searing environment. Immersed in this fiery ocean lay the enormous Celestial infant, Tiamut, curled in slumber, his massive body sheathed in a solid, impenetrable armor. Nothing on Earth could harm him. All he needed to do was wait for the day of his Emergence.
"This guy really sleeps soundly," Malrick muttered, swimming effortlessly through the inferno. The extreme heat, tens of thousands of degrees, barely touched him.
Drawing closer, he placed a palm against Tiamut's armored surface. The Black Light Clone, long transformed into a battle-ready suit, detached from Malrick's arm and flowed over Tiamut like liquid. Slowly, it seeped into the sleeping Celestial, probing the surface as it would soil.
Before deciding whether to devour Tiamut or assist in a premature birth, Malrick knew he needed the Celestial's genetic information. The Black Light Clone adhered to Tiamut's body, unleashing its devouring ability at full force. Virus-like particles ate into the armor, penetrating the dense flesh beneath.
Even as an unborn being, Tiamut's body was as solid as rock. The Black Light Clone struggled, combining infection-assimilation with devouring-absorption, before finally biting off a fragment of flesh.
Celestials were not purely biological. Their very essence intertwined with cosmic energy, making them both physical and conceptual entities—embodiments of universal mechanisms. The Clone recoiled at the overwhelming power within the flesh.
Having previously devoured the genes of ten Eternals, the Clone's genetic capacity was now amplified 1,120 times. Yet even this level of power strained against Tiamut's essence.
"It's fortunate I have the Eternal genes," Malrick muttered. Golden runes appeared across the Clone's surface, surging with energy as the Eternals' powers—healing, mind control, matter manipulation, super strength—activated.
The runes interlinked, forming a phantom-like robe that synchronized with Tiamut's unassimilated flesh. This contingency, implanted by the Celestials in the ten Eternals, allowed their powers to be shared with Tiamut during Emergence, ensuring survival even if Earth were destroyed.
The Black Light Clone tapped into this latent network, achieving perfect synchronization with the Celestial. Overwhelm vanished, replaced by a feeling of absolute integration. Devouring proceeded as if the flesh had always belonged to the Clone.
1,120… 1,200… 2,000… 10,081 times the genetic power surged. Within minutes, the Black Light Clone had fully digested Tiamut's flesh, refining its own genes to perfection. This became Malrick's second clone with flawless genetic structure.
A sudden emptiness followed. While the genetic level soared, the Clone's energy remained depleted, leaving it weak, less than a tenth of its peak. Malrick prepared to store it and replenish its energy with the Space Stone, when an immense river of cosmic energy flooded into the Clone, invigorating every particle.
Malrick lowered his head. Golden strands of light now connected the Clone to Tiamut. The Celestials' contingency had not only synchronized flesh but also linked their energies. Tiamut was voluntarily supplying power to the being that had just consumed part of him.
"Emergence is coming. Earth will be destroyed. Devour me, stranger, to protect this planet and its people," Tiamut's voice resonated within Malrick's mind.
Awakened by Malrick, or perhaps merely stirred from slumber, Tiamut's first action was a request for death in service of the planet.
"You're asking me to kill you?" Malrick asked, surprised at the selflessness of the sleeping god.
Tiamut's devotion to Earth was legendary. In the comics, he cherished the planet; in the cinematic universe, he even lent his energy to the Eternals, stabilizing their power and interrupting Emergence.
"Earth is beautiful," Tiamut said. "Civilization's growth is precious. I have observed it for millions of years, like a child. Stranger, you seem to be a conceptual entity. Kill me, or devour me if you will, to use my power to protect this planet."
Malrick felt a rare warmth, reminded of Ultraman Seven, who similarly put Earth above all else. Usually, such goodwill disarmed him, catching him off guard.
"Perhaps you don't need to sacrifice yourself," Malrick said, contemplating the molten environment around them. "We might find a way to let Emergence proceed without harming Earth."
Tiamut's voice carried caution. "Once Emergence begins, it cannot stop unless I am killed or sealed. You shouldn't take that risk."
"We can move you to space and channel energy required for Emergence elsewhere," Malrick suggested.
"Not feasible. Not even Arishem can alter the conditions for a Celestial's birth," Tiamut replied.
"How do you know if you don't try? Staying here is far worse than moving you," Malrick countered.
"The Earth's core will destabilize if I leave," Tiamut warned.
"I can stabilize it," Malrick said calmly.
"Then let's proceed, stranger. You may call me Tiamut."
"Very well, Tiamut. Prepare yourself. I'm moving you to the Universe."
Malrick retracted the Black Light Clone. Azure energy from the Space Stone and crimson energy from the Reality Stone surged through his palm, ready to transfer Tiamut safely to space.
"By the way," he added with a slight smirk, "my name is Malrick."
