When Callum suddenly approached her, Edith felt both happy and nervous. She was thrilled to see her twins’ smiles, so happy thanks to their father’s presence. However, she was also nervous, unsure how to tell Callum. Furthermore, the problems she was facing were far more complex and could cause division within this little family.
Her eyes were hard to blink from staring so closely at her lover’s handsome face. She was even more nervous about opening her mouth because every time she saw his face, she was reminded of Cliff’s words.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Callum asked, staring at the melting ice cream in his girlfriend’s bowl. "Your ice cream is melting."
Edith stared at her bowl of melting ice cream, her eyes wide open. "Oh my gosh! I haven’t even finished it yet."
"I bought a new one for you. If you still feel it’s not enough, I’ll buy you some more." Callum winked his right eye making Edith’s heart beat even faster.
"Really? Thank you, Callum!" Edith hugged her lover happily, unaware that her twins were watching her in person.
Callum didn’t dare comment on his girlfriend’s adorable behavior. If he said anything, she would recognize him, and he wouldn’t be able to enjoy this embrace any longer. Edith rarely took the initiative to hug him, except when they were dating five years ago. She was very spoiled and always followed him wherever he went. Just like now, he decided he wanted to follow her everywhere. He didn’t want to give her to anyone.
When Callum’s newly ordered chocolate vanilla ice cream was ready, Edith still refused to let go of his embrace. Callum loved her current clinginess, which made him reluctant to return to the office.
He took the initiative to feed his girlfriend. He scooped a spoonful of chocolate vanilla ice cream and put it in her mouth.
"How does it feel?"
Edith nodded, gazing at her lover with sparkling eyes. "It tastes so delicious."
"Is it because I fed you?" Callum blinked innocently.
Even though it was simple, the sweet talk managed to make her heart beat faster.
Seeing his mother being openly fed by his father made Eliana immediately jealous. "Dad, I want to be fed too!"
Callum burst out laughing as he stared at his sulking daughter. "Didn’t you just accuse your mom and me of fighting? Now I’m going to prove to you that we weren’t."
"I still want to be fed!"
"My daughter, I’m going to feed your mother right now because I really want to. Besides, do you want your ice cream to melt again because your mother keeps daydreaming?"
"I don’t want to, Dad."
"Then you finish your ice cream yourself."
Edith was actually embarrassed to suddenly act spoiled in front of her twins. While she wanted to avoid Callum, she really wanted him to feed her. Although she had previously submitted Cliff’s toothbrush and the twins’ hair for DNA testing, she couldn’t bear to be separated from Callum.
"Callum, I don’t mind eating ice cream alone."
"It’ll just be more of a problem if you eat ice cream by yourself. I like feeding you."
Edith smiled shyly as she moved her lips closer to her lover’s. "Aren’t you embarrassed to say that out loud in front of the kids?"
"Kids will soon find out that you are really spoiled."
"But, what is your real purpose for suddenly coming to me?"
"I’ll tell you later when we get home."
Her brow furrowed. "Is there any other problem?"
Callum’s sudden visit with his twins was actually to show her something about his luxurious residence. Now, all of his girlfriend’s belongings have been moved into the mansion, along with all of his daughter’s belongings. Even the guest room is now officially Eliana’s, making Eliana even happier to live in this house.
"How is it, my daughter? Do you like it?"
Eliana nodded, hugging her father’s leg. "I love it, Dad. Thank you."
Meanwhile, Edith also beamed as she watched the guest room transform into her daughter’s room. She couldn’t believe Callum would go this far. If Callum found out the truth, she couldn’t bear to imagine his reaction.
"I have a gift for you too," Callum said, looking at his lover.
"What gift?"
Callum held his girlfriend’s hand as he entered her room and then headed to the walk-in closet. Now, the closet wasn’t just filled with his clothes; it was also filled with all of her clothes, including her collection of bags and shoes.
Edith looked around with a beaming gaze, especially as Callum bought her so many beautiful dresses and casual clothes. "You really bought all these clothes?" She also smiled happily as she looked at the expensive watch and limited edition bag she had always wanted. "Can I wear all of these?"
"Of course you can wear them all. I also bought you a swimsuit so you can swim with the kids whenever you want."
Her cheeks flushed as she stared at the various swimsuits neatly arranged in the closet. She looked back at her lover and then hugged him tightly. She admitted that only Callum could understand what she had always wanted. She liked Callum not because he was rich, but because he truly cared for her.
"Thank you, Callum."
"I also bought your favorite cosmetics and a dressing table so you can do your makeup."
"Even though I was only acting as a secret nanny, you went this far."
"Actually, making you my secret nanny was just an excuse. That wasn’t my real goal."
"What do you mean?"
drrt...drrt...
Suddenly, someone called him in the middle of a sweet moment with his lover, making his breath even heavier. He briefly answered the call from one of his friends.
"What? You want me to attend the masquerade ball?"
Meanwhile, Edith could only eavesdrop on her lover’s conversation. The phone call was brief, but it revealed her lover’s gloom.
"Edith, may I ask you for a favor?"
"What help do you want?"
"I want you to be my dance partner at the masquerade ball later."
